Chapter 9

JASMINE POV

The prophesier must have seen it wrong. How is it even possible that I am the mate of my uncle?

If I had it my own way, I would reject him a billion times.

Who does he think he is? He shows out of the blue, kidnaps me from my wedding and claims to be my mate all of a sudden.

Argh! The thought of it drives me nut. There has to be a better explanation to this. I believe Derrick is hiding something vital.

There is no way, I am staying here as a captive when I have a free life outside.

If only I was a human, I would not have to be through all of these.

"Snap!" A finger snapped at my face.

"Are you even listening?" Derrick asked me. My face was wan, because I was lost in thought. I would have been on my honeymoon anyway, if not for this mean fellow that shattered my dreams.

"You should stop abusing me in your head now and listen at least" Derrick beckoned to me.

I had clearly forgotten that he can read one's mind. Gosh! I am doomed.

What does he really want from me? A dangerous looking fellow like him has something mischievous in mind.

Why do I need protection suddenly after thirty years? It sounds so strange.

Thinking of all his words just annoys me. I think I require a better explanation for this mystery.

"So, what do you think my lady?" The gray haired fellow asked me.

"I… Uh?" I stuttered not knowing what to say, and in order not to appear shameful, I decided to ask him of his name. That was my way of changing the topic.

Derrick placed his hand on his forehead in disappointment.

For a thought, he guessed bringing before the council was a mistake.

His so-called council of immature men did not see it offensive that I twisted their question in the demand of knowing their names. If fact they looked more excited to me.

Why do I feel as though this pack of baby wolves can overthrow their king just for a pretty woman?

If that is the case, I do not mind being the poison chalice that would make that happen.

It would be fun watching uncle Derrick fall, while my father takes his rightful place on the throne.

My mischievous smile had given the gray hair fellow the impression that I was interested in him, as he had tweaked an eye at me earlier.

He said his name is Loren, a beta wolf like him should be more focused on overthrowing the king rather than submitting fully to his authority.

He had a crescent yellow eyes that were adorable as they glimmered. His innocent looks only showed he was loyal to his ruler.

His hair is the longest I have seen among the men. Its length was his waist line.

He is a tall fellow with less manly structure, I doubt if he can injure a soul.

The red haired fellow was the next to introduce himself. He was also an alpha, but he looked more like an immature one to me.

His name is Jason and his muscularity really proved he was an alpha. I doubt he knows how to use his powers.

His hair is shabby kept and his body was a sacrificial lamb for tattooists. There was no more space to draw another.

His nose and ears had rings on them. He was not even handsome like the rest, I see no reason why he should adorn himself.

The curly dark-haired guy was forced to sit still while he stood to introduce himself.

The green-haired man stood up in his place. Another fellow that behaved immature. His hair is at his shoulder-length. He had small part of his hair braided to an extent. He had emerald eyes that marched the color of his hair.

From my observation, he was more handsome than any other in the council. He calls himself Archer the greatest hunter. A hunky fellow he is. He glanced at me, and his eyes remarked my beauty.

I could not help myself but to smile to his gaze.

I like the way he called himself "Archer the great", I think uncle Derrick has a competitor.

I turned to look at the next young man. He had a black hair too just like the curly haired callow. He equally had black hair but kept a low cut, he was a delta wolf, second rank to the beta's.

Mason was another hunter, not as skillful as Archer, but he certainly possesses the looks of a warrior. The golden hair guy got eyes that match his fancy hair.

Finally, Oliver. The curly haired boy. If I should guess, he should be twenty. Unlike everybody else he doesn't know his breed. His parent's history weren't written, or perhaps he wasn't made to know.

Goodness! Derrick must have a lot hidden in that mind of his.

Oliver's eyes were gray like a human and his personality never showed strength. Facts had it that he had never transformed before. Even after several full moons.

Many believed he was a human rather than a werewolf.

Derrick had found him in the lasts battles of lycans and rival wolves.

It's so sad that Oliver remembers nothing of his past.

From my observation, all the members of the king's pack were grouped in two's.

There were two hunters, beta and delta, but only one alpha. Could it be that Oliver is an alpha too?

"May we know your name too?" Loren was quick to ask me. Derrick grumbled at him and he apologized immediately.

"Her name is Jasmine" Derrick introduced on my behalf.

"I believe I have my lips" I retorted, and repeated the introduction with my lips.

"My name is Jasmine, and I am the daughter of Lucian the actual Lycan king to the throne".

"That is enough Jasmine!" Derrick yelled at me. I could see the fury he had in his eyes, this veins boiled uncontrollably.

I wasn't bothered a bit, the one to be feared is me, I wouldn't be important to him if he never needed me to be alive.

"Am I not right uncle?" I questioned after summoning the courage from my thoughts.

The packs must be shock to hear me call uncle. What were they thinking? That I was actually his mate?
