Chapter 5

It was raining very heavily, one could hardly find their way with such amount of harsh rain splashing down on the floor.

Derick was on the lookout for Jasmine, since she used the lavatory as her exit to escaping.

She could not have gone that far, he was sure of it.

Being faster than she in speed, he had a hundred percent assurance of finding her, and so he did not look bothered a bit.

As he ran through the streets, he found the umbrella he had gotten her on the edge of the road.

He scoffed and whispered "deceit". Her trails had ended there. There is no way she could have magically disappeared without being traced by him.

His sniffed was strong enough to distinguish a rain scent from that of a werewolf's.

There stood a tree just at that edge of the road where the umbrella laid. He had no doubt she was hiding up there, in the midst of the beaches.

"Will you come down or should I come up there?" He raised his voice as he questioned the tree.

She did not give a reply but rather looked for possible ways to escape from the tree.

"You are not invisible you know?" He reminded her.

He leaped up on the tree and tried grabbing her. She retorted at him with her claws clawing his face.

He buffed while the scratch healed immediately, and then he gave a mischievous smile.

"That didn't hurt a bit" he exposed to her.

"Do not flatter yourself" she advised and then jumped down from the tree. He did likewise and they both entered a chase.

Jasmine ran as fast as her heels could take her, but Derick kept on bumping into her.

She even transformed into her true form but still yet, he kept catching her.

At last, she decided to stop and just concord.

"I know you will do that" Derick announced.

"Gosh! You are so full of yourself" Jasmine complained while she took her torn gown to wrap herself with. It had turned during her transformation.

"Wait until my father finds us you are a dead meat" she boasted.

"You don't get the whole scenario, do you?", "Your life and my life are in danger. Your father is after you because, your death is the only thing that can make him stand a chance against me" Derick reminded.

"What the hell? My father would never choose power over me" she said to him.

"Whoa! You believe your father that much?"

"I know my father"

"Well, I'm not sure if you do know him that well?" Derick challenged her.

Jasmine gave him a daring look because she was angry about his statement. She began gnashing her teeth at him.

She had a strong feeling that she would not like this fellow.

"Are you coming or not?" He yelled at her, after walking a distance.

"I'm not going anywhere with you. I am strong enough to protect myself" she made the claim with her hands folded.

"You don't look that strong to me? If you stopped acting stubborn, I will handle you a friend" Derick gave his word.

"Ha! Friend? You are a friend to nobody…

He injected her with chloroform that put her to sleep immediately. He then took her in his arms and walked away with her.

The rain had reduced at that moment, making it easy for him to walk in the drizzle.

He took a glimpse of her closed eyes and closed his immediately. He walked forward a bit and scoffed at his sudden thought which appeared to be undeniable, "Jasmine's beauty".

"That should shut you up" Derick stated with sudden ease because he would no longer pass through the stress of tolerating her.

The door was wildly opened as they approached the house.

Tyler and Chris looked at one another at the same time, showing the sign of suspicion.

They made an entry and monitored every step they took.

As soon as they arrived at the scene, their first observation was the broken window.

The window was tall. It was impossible not to wonder how the human broke out or in with that height.

From what Tyler remembered in his investigation,

"How possible?" Tyler still found that question slipping out of his mouth.

Chris, on the other hand, kept calm and only collected available evidence.

Jasmine bangle was on the floor. Chris assumed whosoever took her must have forced her with him.

The window was the only way he could have burst out.

"From what the girls had said, he sensed a truth from inside. And that was because all said she had a chat with this personality" he hummed a relief sign at his thoughts. Perhaps it was her father indeed. He might not have approved the wedding and was forcing her away with him. Both must have gotten into a fight, and eventually, her father won"

Gosh! Why does it have to be on their wedding day? Chris fell frustrated on the floor.

He took off his jacket and gasped for air. Residing down his cheeks were tears that he wished would disappear.

Tyler put a phone call to the station, reporting the case to them.

Chris was going to warn him not to do that, but he was already on the phone call before he could speak.

"Chris?" Tyler called his name. "You are hiding something from me, aren't you?" Tyler reasoned before placing the accusation.

They had known each other since they were kids, there is no way Tyler would not have figured out.

Chris kept staring at him, and eventually, began trembling all of a sudden.
