Chapter 10

ALPHA DERRICK'S POV

She might be exquisitely beautiful, but she lacks proper behavior. She upsets me. Not only that, but she has not even spent a day, and yet, she is getting on my nerves.

Our identity was meant to be kept a secret, now she revealed it to them.

How do I cover up the lie I told about finding my mate?

Why are they all staring at me?

Do they expect me to say something?

"You are all dismissed" I gave the order. They all departed, leaving me alone with Jasmine.

We were both staring eyeballs to eyes balls. I made a squinted eye at her, while her gaze was still up.

I wondered what her father had told her about me, I should have that respect of being an uncle, but instead she thinks I am the devil.

Does she even now she is not his...? I paused after recalling the promise I made to my brother. I had promised him a long time ago, that I was not going to reveal to Jasmine, that she was not his biological daughter.

It was during a festival many years ago. To ascend the throne, Lucian was asked to complete a task. In which he would have to kill a rivals little daughter.

He was the strongest of in his clan, but died in war against our father.

She was just a little innocent child then. Lucian had compassion for her and decided to hide her.

He was caught however and banished from the pack.

Seeing he had lost everything, he decided to take Jasmine as his daughter. He made me to promise not to reveal her identity.

We were still close pals even after his banishment, but all of a sudden, he got angry that the throne was given to me.

I missed my brother dearly.

"Perhaps you might want to sit down so that we can discuss my rules in this place" I said to her.

She scoffed at me and took a step closer to me, that I could feel her breath. She was now staring at my cold eyes, showing me how fearless she was.

Well, she better be because I will make her stay miserable.

I made my own scoff and gave her a daring look.

"Let's start with rule number one" I stated while snapping my fingers once.

We appeared in the room she had woken up in.

She looked around and observed the place. I sense that she was not used to that yet.

My ability to teleport into places is a complete mystery. Not anyone had been recorded in history with such a power.

"Rule number one; you are grounded. Henceforth, you will remain in your room until Emilia and the other ladies groom your behavior…

"What! You can't do that?" She dared.

"Of course I have" I replied and grabbed her by the arm. She struggled to pull out of my grip, but the bracelet in her hand had weakened her energy.

"Rule number two; no one should know our true relationship else, your human friend Chris dies" I struck the threat to her.

She frowned and gazed down. I was sure that the threat had worked on her. She must be truly in love with him to have kept silent.

"We are considered mate in this house, so let it remain that way. I promise not to do anything stupid with you" I added to the rule number two.

"Tell me the truth, what is your true aim for bringing me here?" She asked me the question.

This question of hers was unexpected. She said that I should tell the truth?

Does she really needs to know the truth? No! She would only see herself as superior. I deserve respect as the strongest alpha.

I observed her anxious expression.

She wished she could read my mind, but unfortunately, she could not.

"The truth is, I was made your mate by destiny, it doesn't matter what we do, it can't change?" I said to her at last.

"There is no way I am going to believe your lies!" she stormed at me and walked away to seat on the bed.

"When do I get to go back home?" She persisted in asking impossible questions.

"This is your home now, there is no going out of here" I spoke harshly and snapped out of the room immediately, to avoid further pressing questions from her.

I wasn't completely out of the room, I was only invisible.

I watched as she strewed up objects about. Believe me, I was filled with content. This is all her ego needs to calm down.

She kept nagging and blasting all sorts of insults which I believe we're not meant for me. Was it?

I made a walk through a narrow tunnel that had been deserted.

I paused my movement and monitored my path to see whether anyone was following me or approaching the area. Once I was sure that none was following, I continued walking.

As I walked the fire stand that gave light to the tunnel began to get dimmer.

I was fast in my steps, I did not stop ensuring my paths were cleared.

Finally, there was a large gate at the end of the narrow tunnel, with a keeper.

His name is Spencer, and he is the keeper of the dark world.

The dark world was a place for prisoners, outcasts, and the dead.

Only hunters and the royal subjects were allowed to cross the dark world. It was a forbidden place with every answer to any questions or hidden secrets. But, it was still dangerous as they were dark forces that could still be a threat, even to the living.

"Hello ghost alpha!" Spencer used his cold thunderous voice to address me.

Spencer usually addresses one by their true nature.

"Hello Spencer! Keeper of the dark world!" I also replied with my cold voice.

"To what do I owe this visit?" Spencer questioned.

"You know, the usual" I replied boldly and took a step forward before the gate.

"Beware! He who seeks knowledge from the dark realm, may forever be hungry to return. He who goes to the dark realm in a quest for revenge, may forever be in grief. Likewise, he who goes to the dark realm and let a prisoner or dead out is ready to battle against doom.

And finally beware that a living werewolf can still die in the dark realm" Spencer gave the warning.

I wasn't new to his intro into the dark world. I could recite those lines with my eyes closed.

"Spencer! I really wouldn't want to be delayed now!" I informed him quickly, to avoid furthermore fazed speeches.

"You may go in my king" Spencer addressed me.

I wonder why it took him that long to address me properly.

He stretched forth the sword in his hand to me, and I vanished.

The dark word was the only place I could not enter with my teleportation powers. It was another powerful realm, I found difficult to conquer.

I was in the midst of the woods. The dark world was a forever night kingdom where the dead and prisoners ruled.

Don't wonder what I am doing in the dark world, everyone has a reason for certain actions.

I moved onwards into the thick woods and monitored my steps not to attract visitors. But no matter how quiet I was, the enemy would always be at alert.
