Sandra and James finished their dinner, their conversation flowing effortlessly as they savored each bite. They laughed and smiled, their newfound partnership solidified with every passing moment. As they prepared to part ways, James walked Sandra to the door, his hand on the small of her back.
"Thank you for a wonderful evening, Sandra," James said, his eyes gleaming with sincerity. "I'm so glad we could come to an understanding."
Sandra smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Me too, James. Me too."
With a final nod, Sandra departed, leaving James to his thoughts. An hour later, David Chen arrived, apologizing profusely for his tardiness.
James waved him off, a warm smile on his face. "No worries, David. I know you're a busy man."
As they sat down, James got straight to the point. "David, I know you're a man of great integrity, but I also know you have ambitions. And I'm willing to help you achieve them."
David's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "What do you propose, James?"
James leaned in, his voice low and persuasive. "I have gold bars, worth a small fortune. And I'm willing to give it to you, if you join forces with me."
David's eyes widened, his heart racing with temptation. He knew it was wrong, but the allure of gold and power was too great to resist.
"Okay, James," David said finally, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm in."
James beamed with triumph, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Excellent! Together, we'll make sure Will becomes the next CEO, and Stephen is left in the dust."
And with that, David Chen accepted the gold bar, sealing his fate as a willing participant in James' scheme.
Stephen barely slept, fueled by a mix of adrenaline and anxiety. For three days straight, he remained holed up in his office, pouring over reports, crunching numbers, and making calls. His fear of losing the CEO position to Will's charm and James' manipulation drove him to work tirelessly.

He texted Kyra, "Kyra, I'm sorry, I am getting busier with work, do visit your family, my driver will drive you."
Kyra, who was worried about Stephen, saw his text, replied, "I understand, but what about work makes you to not come home for 3 days?"
Stephen hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. He didn't want to lie to Kyra, but he couldn't tell her the truth either. "Let's just say...I'm trying to prevent a hostile takeover," he typed finally.
Kyra's response was skeptical. "A hostile takeover? At SM Company? You're not even a shareholder, Stephen. What are you hiding?"
Stephen's heart raced as he tried to come up with a convincing reply. He knew Kyra was getting close to the truth, and he couldn't afford to let her expose him. "I...I can't discuss it now, Kyra. Just trust me, okay?"
