6 CHAPTER SIX

ARIEL'S POV

"Ariel!!" The director called out my name making me jump, I unconsciously straightened up my back, I seemed to have forgotten why he is the director, his bloodlust burst out and assaulted me almost instantly making me to hold my breath with fear.

I lowered my head gulping, I am proud of my strength but against the director I am nothing but an ant that can be squished easily if stepped upon.

"Director, please understand my situation." I pleaded in a low voice, there is no way I want to face Vincent again neither do I want him to find out about Jason it would be too complicated to explain everything.

"You should know the principles of this job, when it comes to a mission no emotional attachments or sentiments should be involved." The director stated coldly, I could hear the clear warning in his tone when he said that.

"What about the bodyguards, it might be a bit difficult to infiltrate his home and come out unnoticed." I said hoping that would get me out of this mess but little did I know that I literally dug my own grave with my hands.

"I've got that sorted out, as you know Vincent runs an entertainment industry, and from your previous records I see you are a pretty good actor, so you are to go in through his company and use every means possible to get close to him." The director explained and I felt my heart stop, why does it have to be me? I did not like Vincent that much but the fact I would have to be responsible for the taking the life of my dear Jason's father, if he finds out in future he might never forgive me for doing so.

It was then Leo walked in and my eyes lit up with hope like I had seen a saviour, "Sir, actually I think Leo is the best candidate for this job, not only is he a man, he can infiltrate under the guise of a bodyguard." I said apologizing to Leo in my heart for throwing him into the fire like this.

"Nice try, but Leo got assigned to a top ranking mission too." The director stated directly seeing through my plan, 'shit' I cursed my luck within me, why is fate deciding to play out this way?

"Am I missing something here?" Leo asked probably confused on what we were talking about, I gave him an eye signal that we would discuss it later.

"This is your plane ticket and fake identities for you and your son just in case, after all you're going to homeland." The director pushed forward an envelope towards me, he knew that I would definitely not leave my Jason and go to another country.

Leo threw me a look with question marks all over it, the poor guy must be wondering why I decided to go back to country M, the place I tried to escape the most.

I hesitated for a while before stretching out my hands and reaching for the envelope, I did not have a choice after all, an assassin isn't meant to have a family to begin with, I broke the law by having Jason by my side, even though there were several suggestions to give him up for adoption so I can focus on the job fully, but what is the essence when I started it all for him.

After scanning through the contents of the envelope, I bowed down at the director before leaving, I shut the door loudly behind me, it was a bit disrespectful, but hey! I am being forced to kill my child's father, something I might end up getting hated for in future when my son finds out even though he pretty much does not know who is father is but still this was-

"Hey wait up!" I heard Leo voice call out to me, he is probably worried about me and came out to chase after me.

"You usually accept missions without any troubles, why is today different?" He inquired curiously.

"Non of those mission involves Jason's future, or affects his relationship with me." I voiced out sighing, Leo mouthed an 'oh' not saying anything for a while.

"Remember when I first saw you?" He asked looking like he went back to the memory lane.

I too couldn't help but think back, it was after I gave birth to Jason, the hospital got tired of housing a freeloader and threw me out on the streets, I had no where to go and no money on me, I had used all my savings to come into the country, since I was an unfavoured daughter my allowance was not pretty high.

My feeding throughout my nine months period by the time I was delivering Jason I was as broke as a church rat.

Sitting on the sidewalk shivering in the cold as I tried my possible best to keep my baby warm, a young man (Leo) walked up to me and covered me with his jacket providing warmth, he invited me home, which at first I didn't want to go with him but at that moment I would rather risk getting kidnapped than letting my baby starve and freeze to death.

Leo took care of us till Jason recovered and became a bubbly baby, it was then Leo asked me if I would be interested in a job.

Without hesitation I agreed, I didn't want to be that situation again where I was stranded holding my weak baby in my arms, I wanted to be stronger and protect Jason from all harm, that is how I became 'Blue Ivy.'

"I remember." I muttered in response to Leo's question, "Then don't give up now alright, you've already come this far." He held my shoulders looking into my eyes with so much emotions in his, my hands that held onto the envelope clenched tightly, Leo is right, I have come too far to give up now.
