21 [Volume 1] Chapter 21- Going to village chief

Jiho passed the wooden box, looking at it.

"What is this?" Blue-haired mer asked cautiously.

"Some medicine for wounds and painkillers. Take it." Hearing the word "medicine," they were shocked and tried to return the box to Jiho.

"No, how can you waste it on us? Please take it." His hand started to shake; from the look of the box, they already knew how expensive the medicine inside was.

Sigh.

"It's not a waste; just treat your wounds." Jiho shook her head and turned around.

"But..." Blue-haired mer called, making Jiho stop midway.

"Even if it's expensive, if it doesn't fulfill its purpose, it's useless." Jiho rubbed her head and walked outside the door without turning around.

"Thank you." Blue-haired mer bit his shaking lips while a tear escaped from his eyes.

After the door closed, Su brothers looked at each other, then at the basket. As they opened it, they were shocked.

"Is it..." His eyes turned red as he looked at the bun. It's not a big deal to eat a bun, but for them, it's been years since anyone brought this for them.

"Brother, why did she treat us so well?" The brown-haired mer, who was always silent, spoke as he looked at the medicine.

"Who knows..." Yellow-haired mer mumbled as he looked at the closed door. 'Don't think about unnecessary things; whatever it is, she is our wife now,' the eldest Su wiped his tears and started distributing one bun to each while wanting to store the others. There he found a note: 'Eat everything.' He nibbled on his lower lip and started eating.

Next morning.

"Cock-a-doodle-doo!" Hearing the rooster's voice, Su brothers jolted awake. They couldn't believe they woke up late on their first morning after marriage.

"Damn it, let's hurry." Eldest brother shouted.

Soon, they rushed toward the kitchen but stopped in their tracks as they smelled a delicious fragrance coming out of the kitchen. They slowly walked toward the kitchen and watched silently.

Seizel.

'How can she also look so good in coarse cloth?' Third brother Su.

Jiho, who was cooking, felt someone staring and looked that way. "Oh, you guys are awake."

Hearing Jiho's voice, they snapped out of their daze and hurried to help while blushing.

Suddenly, Jiho interrupted, "Wait, wife, we can do the cooking! You can rest outside."

Eldest Su was already embarrassed; they woke up late on their first day of the wedding, and now they are making their new wife cook. However, Jiho is a kind person, and it doesn't give them the right to take advantage of her.

"Yes, wife, you don't need to do anything. We can do house chores and everything." Third brother Su spoke as he lowered his head; they knew it was already a blessing to be married to a normal person, but getting married to a scholar and scholar Li Jiho was their biggest blessing.

Jiho, who didn't pay attention to the little squabble, shook her head firmly, "No, you guys should rest. You are already tired from yesterday, and anyway, cooking is already done. Go and wash up; it will be ready in ten minutes."

"I..." Su brothers still wanted to say more, but Jiho pushed them out of the kitchen.

Su brothers, pushed outside, thought, 'Is she an angel?'

Jiho, having gotten rid of Su brothers, sighed in relief, 'Sorry, but no matter what, I can't eat those animal food.' Jiho already knew that in this era, where people don't even want to waste a single drop of oil in food, and whenever she remembered eating food with oil and seasoning, it was like a nightmare.

After ten minutes, Su brothers freshened up and came out of the room. Seeing food on the table, they were shocked.

'What is that oil?' Then they looked at Jiho, who was serving dishes. Getting gazes from four pairs, Jiho looked back. "Is there anything wrong?" Jiho looked at their confused expressions and tilted her head.

"I..." Before Eldest Su could say anything, his wrist was grabbed; he looked back and saw his second brother, who rarely speaks, shaking his head.

"Let's eat fast; we also have to go to the village chief's house." As Jiho served bowls and sat on her seat, the mers looked at each other and went to sit down too.

As they started, Jiho noticed the other party only eating rice and pickles and not touching any egg or soup. 'These...' Jiho frowned and put down her chopsticks.

Thud.

Hearing a sudden noise, mers shivered and looked up and saw Jiho's frowned expression. 'Did we already make a mistake?'

"Wife, is there anything wrong?" Trembling yellow-haired mer looked at Jiho with little courage.

Sigh.

'Looks like I have to work on my facial expression.'

"I don't mean to scold you, but you should know you are not in Su house anymore." Jiho's words shocked the mers; they looked at her with confused expressions.

"Just so you guys know, you are my husbands, not servants. You have equal rights in this house."

After saying that, Jiho left, and seeing her leaving, not now why mers, but a complicated feeling arose.

In the afternoon, when Jiho and mers reached the village chief's house, they were shocked.

'What the... why are so many people gathered here?'
