Chapter 16~ Unknown Feelings

Since my childhood, I have been ignored by my family. I forgot my own mother just to receive my so-called father's love. I am 31 now but still didn't find my mate. Every werewolf meets their mate at the age of 16 or 17. The longest is 18. But here I am. Maybe Moon Goddess is punishing me for my deeds. I also lost hope in finding my mate. I was supposed to be the Beta of our pack but instead of the Beta title, I got the title of illegitimate child.

Now my entire life is dedicated to Lord Arthur and the orphans. The orphans give me a feeling of family which I always crave for. And Lord Arthur is the one who took me in when I was outcast by my own people.

When I was outcast, I was only 25 years old so I had a thought that I will have my mate and I will create a perfect family with my mate and my cute little pups. My dream shattered when I aged 30. I already crossed the age when werewolves should have pups of their own. I lost all of my hopes. And now I don't want to raise them again.

Today Lord Arthur told me to find information about Aurora Sebastine. I dont why her name is giving me a different feeling. Though I have no mate, I never indulge myself in any kind of relationship with any woman. Be it physical or committed relation. If I have no mate then also I won't give my mate's rights to anyone. Only she have rights on me.

I started my journey to the mermaid clan to find Aurora Sebastine. I know she is a mermaid as Lord told me. After reaching the mermaid clan, I started my investigation but to my surprise no one knows her. How is this possible!!!!!!!!!! The mermaid clan are most social and communicative.

I tried each and every method to find even a single information about her but to my bad luck I couldn't find anything. The mermaid clan is situated near a sea as the mermaids and mermans can't live a long time on land. So to gain their energy back , they need to be in the water for at least 2 hours.

I sat at the seashore. I saw an old lady coming towards the seashore. I moved towards that lady and asked her,

" Hello, Miss. Can I talk to you for a second?"

The old lady asked," Why does a young man want to talk with an old lady?"

" I want to talk to you about something. Can I?" I ask politely.

She nodded her head and told me to follow her. I followed her behind and soon we reached a small cottage.Its a small cottage with trees surrounding it. The cottage is small but still beautiful.

She and I entered inside the cottage. She let me sit on the couch and she went to the kitchen. She brought a glass of water and gave it to me. I drank it in one go.

She sat in front of me in a single seater. She started talking," My name is Cesendra. What you want to talk about?"

" Miss , I am Leo. I am one of the men of Lord Arthur. I want to know about Aurora Sebastine." I said to her softly.

" Aurora!!!! She is such a nice child. But the fate played cruelly with her." She said to me with a dejected heart.

" What do you mean??" I asked, squinting my eyes.

" Aurora is the first princess of the Mermaid clan. She is supposed to be the next queen after queen Stella. But one unknown incident changed her life. She was never seen after that." She said with sadness laced in her voice.

" What incident did I miss ?? Can you kindly tell me??" I asked her, being curious.

" That night, all the high officials of the mermaid clan gathered in the palace. No one knows what they talked about. But that night, everyone saw Princess Aurora leaving the palace with tears flowing through her precious eyes. She was always a happy going girl. No one saw tears in her eyes. Only at the age of 16 , she was sent out of the palace. Since then no one saw her or heard about her. But there are rumours that she sometimes comes to the palace." She said to me while coughing slightly in the middle..

If she is the princess then why is she chosen as the protector?? Doesn't Queen Stella love her own daughter?

I stood up from the sit and bowed to her. I turned around to leave but she called me and asked a question that made me stiffen, " You didn't find your mate right, dear?"

I again turned towards her, " No miss I didn't find her and I think I don't have any." I said with a sad smile. She came near me and patted my back and said,'' Dear, you can call me granny. And who said you don't have one?? Your Moon Goddess is not so cruel to not give someone a mate. You should wait"

I smiled at her and said,'' Yes mis..umm Granny." I bid bye to her and turned to leave and that's when a picture caught my eyes. The picture is of a baby , she might be only 1 year old. She is sitting on a cute princess bed and sucking her thumb in the picture. I don't know what came in my mind, I started moving my thumb on the picture by taking it in my hand. Her pink lips, round face, chubby cheeks, pointy nose and the cute mole beside her left eye. All these were attracting me. I asked granny who this little girl was. She answered me with a sad tone," She is my granddaughter. Her name was Nora. But we lost her when she was only 1.5 years. Since then we never found her. Her mother died during her birth. Me and my husband tried to give her everything. But we lost her . After 2 years of her disappearance my husband also died in her grieve.``

I don't know why, Nora's disappearance, her being hurt, these thoughts were piercing my heart. I was feeling protective towards her. I took a pic of the photo. The only thing which was attracting me the most was the mole. I can use that as a clue to find her.

If one mystery is being unveiled then another mystery is popping out. In his 30 years of life Leo didn't find his mate and now he is attracted to a baby photo. He doesn't even know why he was attracted?

Will Leo find his mate???
