CHAPTER TWO

Derrick’s POV

“Okay”

I said as I clapped my hands to draw everyone’s attention

“Now that the pre – introduction is done, let’s get down to business”

“I will introduce myself again, my name is Derrick Adams” I said slowly this time

“I’m your new homeroom teacher and we are going on a trip”

There was shock, surprise, happiness, anger on their faces as I said this all except one… she looked indifferent, like she didn’t give a fuck, frustrated even.

I knew I was different from the others, so are my ways.

She looked interesting, for someone to be frustrated about this class – maybe she isn’t one of them and I can use her to get to the others.

“Yayy!!!”

A girl screamed out, she looked really excited with her deep black hair bouncing up on her shoulder.

The whole class turned towards Lorientta – a few months with Mr. Hottie won’t cause any harm.

She said battling her eyelashes at me, I felt nausea at her but couldn’t express it, it’s not a surprise you find a bimbo in every class.

Even I had one in high school.

“Ahem…” clearing my throat

“… as I was saying-”

“We are not going” I was interrupted by a dark blue – eye.

I was interested what power the blue-eyed had on this class to say it out so gutsy.

And I was right, no one stood against his word or hinders it.

“I see, you must be leader or might I say, the bully of this class” I said looking straight at him.

The boy should know I don’t fear him.

As expected, he didn’t reply.

“Now, what’s your name?”

Still no reply

I ignored the badass blue – eyed and went towards to take the attendance of the class

“What’s the need of knowing when you will just leave as soon as the others” he finally said.

I turned towards him and smiled liking his reply.

“And I get to decide if I will stay or not, seeing as I’m staying, what is your name I will ask again”

He laughed looking at the other to join in his jest

“We don’t need to do much before you will leave” the guy who I met at the entrance yelling said.

“No teacher has ever lived to take our attendance” I just shake my head at their childishness, they don’t even have guts and are acting all up.

“I won’t be able to remember all your names so according to what I decide after the attendance I will give you nicknames”

“Time for roll calls, you guys are just 20, so it will be easy” I said looking at their register, if he doesn’t want to tell me his name, I will find out myself.I smirked to the thought

“So, I will give each of you a nickname according to what I feel, I think it will be easier to call and make everyone comfortable with each other”

“Nooo…”The class roared

“I was going to do it either way”

“Hailey Ann?”

“Present” she said in a bored tone

“Jeremy Blake?”

“Present”

“Dan Bliss?” The class became silent

“No reply” I tried again

Still no response

“Okay” I said,

I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but I had some cards up my sleeve and I was going to use them effectively.

I took the roll call of the other 14 students, their names below Clifford Payne, Eddie Dawn, Edward Swartz, Sergio McLane, Andrew Mac, Derek, Leoland, Lorientta Will, Kate Law, Jaren .J. Claw, Jade Seidenthal, Amy Marlyn, Dob Riders, Jasmine Lye.

The thud resonated through the class as I closed the book, the only person who didn’t say anything was – the brood “I'm guessing you are Dan Bliss” I said to the blue – eyed boy who was sitting calmly gazing directly at the teacher.

I wouldn’t say he wasn’t handsome, he was strikingly handsome boy… But what’s a fine face with a bad character – totally crossed out

“I’ll mark you present” he didn’t say much or make a move to reply.

“That will be all class, but before I leave” I continued

“you are to arrive here by 9a.m tomorrow, with a month’s luggage, you won’t be able to leave the premises and your parents are already notified and signed the consent form”

“Most importantly, no carrying of illegal goods, all luggage will be thoroughly scrutinized” with that I was done leaving room for questions or defilement.

As suspected, surprisingly, Amy asked

“Where are we going Sir?” My answer was short and concise

“You don’t need to know, just come prepared.

”The bell rang signifying end of the class.

Everyone dispersed; Mr. Derrick has done a lot to keep everyone in a solemn mood for the remaining hours in the day.…

Dan’s POV

It was finally break, all the year 12 students had gathered together to make their usual meetings.

Since the class had been made, it was like a ritual we made, we gather and discuss new ways to toss the teachers out and frustrate the principal, because we all knew, we were like a game for him to use to propagate the school’s name.

Yuck!

I had my share of friends too, but never had the normal kind of relationships, we were more or less friends with benefits, and Lorientta was my closest but still didn’t know much about me thou she knew me more than anybody in that school.

Lorientta, Jaren, Edward and Kate were discussing about the party they attended yesterday, something about an underground club – expensive drinks – getting high – love shots, something in that order.

The others were in groups too, everyone had something to discuss. I wasn’t paying attention, really, I was thinking about the new teacher – Mr. Derrick, he had grace, charisma, pride in the way he carries his shoulder and walk.

He’s from a different background, “But they are all bluffs at the end only after one thing making a name for them”I was brought back when Edward climbed the table, rattling plates loud enough to get everyone’s attention and more.

I scowled at him, he smiled sheepishly, Edward was a very handsome guy, he wasn't exactly white, his color was more or less tan which made him stands out with his dark wavy curl, he was a halfbreed, with thin lips, pointed nose and chiseled jaws which make girls swoon at every turn.

He was the only one i felt competitive to in terms of look but he couldn't beat my blue eyes.

I turned away hoping what he has to say is worth all the attention.

“Nobody is discussing the teacher, what are we going to do with Mr. Sophisticated?” I knew they were still going to discuss this.

I didn’t say anything, not like I usually do.

“Let’s play a little Halloween, it a harmless trick, right?” Jasmine said cackling with her clowns.

"I have never hurled ill words at the feminine gender, but what Jasmine puts on her face daily is enough to bake at 6 inches cake”

‘Her idea was fun, and to get into the man’s pant, but I knew that wouldn’t hold him down’ along with her many others brought in many ridiculous ideas like smashing his car, tissue spaying his house…

Those ideas were fun and had worked for some of the other teachers – but they were weak. Mr. Derrick is anything but weak to be touched by something trivial as this. It has to…I was still in deep thought when I heard

“…STOP!!!

Mr. Matchel said this is our last chance, I don’t want to be shipped to somewhere I don’t know or have to drop out because I couldn’t graduate.”

She was fuming

Marlyn..?

I think that’s her name, she was never meant to be here, she was just unlucky but despite that she never agreed or object to whatever we did.

She’s definitely is pitiful.

Will interrupt her “If you have a problem being a bitch, you should leave” she said staring down at her.

Marlyn felt so small in her gaze but refused to back down.It was comical.

“I regret not leaving, but since I’m here, I get a say in this because this is also my class”

“Since you already decided to stay, you should just continue the silent treatment like you had been doing before” Will said adding more emphasis on the before to make a point.

Marlyn ignored her “As I was saying.

Let’s try to cooperate this time, maybe something good can come out of him.

He feels different than the others.”

Silence.

This was my call to make a statement now

“You don’t get to talk about who feels right and not.

Charles too felt right, too perfect, maybe because he was too perfect we trusted him and we are not going to make that mistake again.”

It was a sore topic to talk on, Mr. Charles, everyone favorite teacher.

Nobody expected what I was going to say next

“But that doesn’t mean we won’t give him a chance.”

“Without making it easy for him even if we are giving in” I turned to Marlyn, we had a staring contest for awhile before she gave in and turned away.

She wasn’t ugly, no way; in fact, she was beautiful with her curvaceous body, hips and ass, all in the right places.

Her smile was as beautiful as her white teeth that showcases once in awhile out of those plump lips whenever her best friend says something good.

Because she rarely smiles, I notice everything about everybody.

Edward came up to me later after everyone had dispersed,

“Why did you support that girl?”I didn’t like the way he tagged her but Edward disregards anyone easily.I ignored it.

“I want to give him hope just to have it taken from him” I said simply.

That wasn’t my plan but it works.

Conversations went on here and there until the bell rung signaling closing, since the new teacher had refused to start any teaching until after the trip.
