Chapter One

"When did you arrive here?" Mikey asked Erebus.

After he saved them, the group thanked Erebus for his help and invited him to the village. He received the rewards for the quest and obtained some experience points and stat points.

"I arrived maybe less than thirty minutes ago." He answered.

Mikey and Luna, the elven player turned their heads towards Erebus. They both had a surprised 'are you sure?' face.

Erebus didn't understand why they acted like that. "What?" He asked.

"You're joking right?" Luna asked this time, with a nervous grin on her face. Erebus frowned.

"No why would I? Isn't it the same as everybody? We all got transferred at the same time didn't w-.. Wait, how were you able to lead that group of elves?"

Luna and Mikey stared at each other this time. It's like they both have this sort of connection.

"The thing is, we've been here for like almost a year." Mikey said.

Erebus frowned. He was starting to get confused. How is that possible, he thought repeatedly. "That's not possible, the game just came out a week ago in our original world." He said, while struggling to keep his breathing calm.

"Erebus, listen to us. Don't freak out." Luna said.

Erebus took a few deep breaths to relax himself. He then was able to breathe normally after a few seconds. He looked up at the two.

"Alright, explain everything."

*******

Mikey, original world.

2020.

In the game, Mikey chose a male character, but the truth is the one playing the character was a woman. She loved choosing characters of the opposite gender whenever she plays a game. Mikey was also very shy. She would only spend most of her time staying inside and play video games and would then get nagged by her mother.

She had a job, but most of the money she earned would then be used to buy video games and skins etc. She loved this lifestyle and is not bothered by it.

Then one day, she received an email.

'Would you like to be a beta tester of our new upcoming game?'

Mikey did not question further. She immediately agreed without needing to read further details. She always played MMORPG games, what could possibly go wrong with another one?

That's what she thought at first. When she got surrounded by blinding lights, and appeared in an unknown place, she regretted thinking that. She wanted to go home, but she couldn't. So she accepted her fate and just continued on. Her character was a human, a male one. She chose the Gunslinger class because she played a lot of FPS games before so she's experienced with guns. When she started, all her skills and items plus equipments, 70% of them were all gone. She basically had to start from scratch and grind to get her skills to level up.

She, or now he, had the six shots revolver. It didn't matter to Mikey. He had pretty good marksman skills. He can shoot from afar, or can chain-fire the revolver. He could shoot all six bullets in less than 2 seconds. He was relentless. After just four months(in game), he gained a good notoriety and reputation amongst the people, especially the elves. He had completed a number of quests without even needing to ask for anyone's help. His confidence in his skills are what almost got him dead.

One day, Mikey was doing a monster hunt. The quest needed him to slay the monster and grab the proof of him slaying the monster. The monster he needed to kill was a Epic Ranked Giant Komodo Dragon. At the start, everything went well, but his confidence made him unable to see the paralyzing attack made by the monster. A strike from it's tongue and Mikey went paralyzed instantly.

'I'm gonna die,' he thought in what was supposed to be his last moments. Then that's when Luna, the elven player came and saved his life. Luna brought along her group of elves and managed to take it down.

Long story short, Mikey and Luna became partners after that, and Mikey owed Luna his life. He swore to be by Luna's side at all times. With them both creating a team, they managed to complete more harder quests and gain more reputation in the wild lands.

They gained the title "The Relentless Duo."

"So that's how I got here. After that event Luna and I managed to survive in this world for six months. Luna never told me how and when she got here. She wanted her background to be discreet." Mikey ended his story.

Erebus stared at the ground to process everything. It finally made sense a little bit to him. The amount of time in this world the players spend is not the same as the original world. One week in the original world equals to a year. So Mikey must've been transported either before the day he got the email or the same day he started playing. Either way, Mikey spent a lot more time than him and is obviously knowledgeable.

"Obviously, I lived here longer than you, but you seem to be stronger than me and Luna." He said.

"I uh, don't know. I already got all my skills and all my equipment when I arrived here." Erebus replied.

Mikey quickly grabbed both of Erebus' shoulders.

"You WHAT?"

"I had all of my stuff. Why?" Erebus said, confused.

Mikey slowly released his grip. He and Luna stared at Erebus for a moment.

"You're one of the special cases." He finally said.

Special what now?
