18 Chapter 18 : Shinobi Arts

Just before Allen attacked, the two mercenary opposite to Allen had a confused and dazed look on their faces.

Unexpectedly Allen had assaulted their consciousness with the full brunt of his soul force!

Allen immediately withdraw his sword and applied chakra amplification to increase his power and speed, he was quick to draw an arc and instantly kill one of them cleanly cutting his head off.

Through his observation, Allen had concluded that effects of soul force suppression wouldn't be very effective against strong Battleforce warriors.

Allen isn't sure why exactly Battleforce warriors have higher resistance to soul force. As per his assumptions, it could be that Battleforce protects the swordsmen and sharpen their mind against confusion.

But despite their stronger restrictions, Allen was able to momentarily daze them as Allen's blade moved uninterrupted and slashed through the neck of the mercenary who barked at him.

The mercenary wasn't able to react and his head was detached from his neck. No body could understand what transpired as they looked at the lifeless head thrown in the air and fall on the ground with a thud.

*Drop*

Everyone was shocked at this sudden display of aggression. Allen, the weak looking thin youth immediately transformed into a domineering tiger and pounced.

"Motherfuc-!" The other mercenary who was in the front somehow broke free from Allen's soul force attack and punched towards him out of instincts.

His body moved on his own, it's only when he jumped did he noticed that he didn't have his sword in his hands, even still he still continued his punching motion while getting ready to draw his sword as well.

Allen was able to timely react and he ducked. Allen's eyes were extremely focus and his spiritual sense scanned through the whole mercenary group.

'Three silver rank, eight copper and two normal humans. This could be challenging if I fight straight on...Hmph! But why should I? when I have the field advantage.' Allen quickly calculated his enemies strength and decided to use the best course of action to deal with his enemies. He would need to utilize the darkness veiled forest to his advantage.

Normally, a Battleforce swordsman cannot determine the level of anyone unless the Battleforce warrior has a Battleforce badge pinned on their clothes, or uses his Battleforce in fighting, or the swordsman fighting against him is too high-level.

This restriction means no one could directly determine the level of a combatants until engaged.

But swordsmen couldn't still use their instinct honed tremendously at higher realm to estimate an opponent's Battleforce rank. But swordsmen at lower rank are pretty much playing blind when they fight a stranger.

This is where Allen has superiority over others at lower realm, he has the spiritual sense which could properly judge an enemy's Battleforce quantity.

By comparing the quantity and quality with others Allen can easily speculate their Battleforce rank accurately.

This means that Allen wouldn't ever be in the situation where one bites more than they could chew.

'It's probably team from a B-rank mercenary group, it's best to trim their numbers.'

Not even a second have passed since the mercenary threw his punch and Allen ducked. In that small time frame, he was able to accurately gauged everyone and formulated a plan.

Allen's wrist rotated as he thrusted the sword point straight towards the mercenary's waist into his sword hilt. Allen's sword point pinned the hilt into the sheath and the mercenary was unable to draw his sword.

Allen then withdraw a dagger from his belt and immediately pierced it directly under the mercenary's chin thrusting in into his brain and killing him.

Allen grabbed the collar of the dead mercenary, keeping his corpse from falling. Allen showed his white teeth as he coldly smirked, glancing at the remaining swordsman.

Allen then winked obnoxiously and sarcastically said, "How you doinn!"

The mercenary were stunned and their eye widen in shock and confusion but immediately after, an unparalleled amount of fury flushed over their consciousness as they roared like animals.

Death is very common in a mercenary's field of work but this amount of despise and disrespect isn't tolerable. They collectively lost their rationality for Allen to exploit.

"Kill!" The leader shouted and everyone withdraw their swords filling the area with copious amount of killing intent and bloodlust.

Allen didn't wait for them he swiftly moved. He threw the bleeding corpse towards the incoming red eyed mercenaries with full force stopping their momentum.

Allen then slipped through a gap in their formation running towards the forest. There was nothing between Allen and the dark forest except for a cowering researcher.

Looking at Allen running towards him, the researchers gulped and shuddered but weirdly enough didn't step aside. The researchers actually took out a small knife and he stood in Allen's way.

"Stop!" The researcher shouted looking at Allen with insatiable greed in his eyes.

In his mind, he concluded that a weak kid like Allen couldn't possibly possess such strength. Judging from the strange movement inside the Magus Tower and his explosive strength the researcher thought that Allen must have gotten some treasure or elixir from the Magus Tower.

Allen frowned looking at him. He didn't knew if it was his young age, fragile figure or the researcher's own stupidity which made him act this way.

Usually, Allen would have stunned him with his soul force but currently he was busy keeping an outlook on everyone else.

Allen didn't imagine a weak researcher would act so stupidly, he snorted and resolved to showed no mercy to a man with a death wish.

A weak researcher with no Battleforce has the guts to stand in his way. Allen must reward him for his courage with some warmth.

The warmth of his own blood!

Allen speed didn't decrease and just when he reached near the researcher he attacked with a vertical downward slash.

Everyone gaped in horror and they witnessed the body of the researcher being slashed into two different equal halves from head to his bottom.

The two half's fell down opposite to each other. A ridiculous amount of blood gushed and splatter onto the ground from the two equal halves forming a crimson pool on the ground.

"Miles!" The researcher's friend shouted, shuddering at the horrifying gruesome scene before him. He couldn't help but vomit.

The mercenary were also stunned and horrified. Their horror wasn't because of the grueling cold-blooded murder but instead the revelation of the person who was killed.

"Catch that piece of shit!" The leader screamed as his body shook in anger.

He gritted his teeth veins sticking out of his neck as he saw Allen running towards the forest.

Two closest mercenary wanted to intercept him but amazingly enough Allen leaped from the ground and by kicking one trunk of the tree to another he escaped.

"What are you waiting for!? Go and get him. I want him alive or dead or else, I'll grab you by your pussy and fuck you all!" The leader shouted and everyone nodded and run in the forest. The leader held his head in annoyance and frustation.

This is a huge tragedy, Professor Miles Davis is a very revered scholar with high-class friends. Since, he died in an expedition protected by them, his group is sure to feel the after-effects.

Their license could very well be voided and if they didn't catch the culprit they might be even more trouble politically.

A recognized and authorized B-rank mercenary group is already top level personnel since A-rank are reserved into the pockets of business tycoons, and high nobles.

His mercenary group is the best of the best. If such a misfortune befalls them, then the president would definitely have their head in exchange of maintaining the group's rank.

...

Allen ran through the forest jumping from tree to tree placing his foot on the trunk without losing his footing. With his chakra control to help him adhere to the trunk surface, he soon left all of his pursuers behind and mixed with the night itself.

'Why the fuck would I fight straight on, I am not that stupid! Especially when there are better ways to deal with you and more importantly, I am not completely at my peak either. So, let me entertain you with some assassin skills.' Allen smirked coldly. Using stealth is the best way to trim down the numbers.

"But what the hell is up with my chakra?"

Allen landed on a tree branch and he looked at his feet with a pondering expression. Just now he could feel a subtle change in his chakra.

Not only the amount's a bit greater than before but there was a foreign feel to it, like it's more potent, more easy to access, more.....

"Synchronized!" Allen's eyes widen in realization. He felt the chakra is definitely much more responsive to his body, as if it's accepting his command and bending to his will.

Allen closed his eyes and by using his soul force he felt his chakra point pathway pumping crimson colored chakra through his body.

He observed that chakra channel at the part of his chest where the mysterious book was pressed on against was acting weirdly.

The magical book was somehow mutating his chakra and refining it. Previously Allen's chakra was pale crimson color, and Allen could barely make out reddish tint when be moulded his chakra but now, it's color was concentrating as if the chakra was purifying somehow.

Previously, Allen was confused about the reddish chakra color. Usually such a color is observed in beings such as Jinchūriki (Humans that have tailed beasts sealed within them) when they unleash Tailed Beast Mode or goes berserk.

Jinchūriki have their chakra corrupted by Tailed beast's malicious and overbearing chakra showing such an appearance.

But such wasn't the case with Allen and after pondering for a while he concluded that since his soul force technique is <Cataclysmic Flame God Technique> which gives his soul force a red color appearance in lower cultivation realms. As well as his Battleforce force which emerge from the bloodline of the body. The triangle connection of these three forces may have probably effected each other and hence his chakra was reddish.

"Maybe I can give that a try?" Allen immediately looked behind himself checking his pursuers status. He jumped a few more trees to hide in a secluded silent area and test his theory.

His heart was beating faster like a horse in race, Allen greedily sucked out a mouthful of cold air. He cracks his neck soreness and closed his eyes while breathing out.

*cracked*

He intertwine his fingers cracking his joints as anticipation rose in his heart. Allen calmed his mind and suddenly his eyes snaped open, unwavering concentration flashing in them.

Allen circulated his chakar and instantly completed a series of hand sign seals.

Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger

[Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique]

As the forming of hand seals was complete, Allen could feel an unusual pushing force emerging from the center of his sea of consciousness.

From deep underneath the Circled Triangle a colorless dim needle point sized energy erupted, this unusual force pushed his chakra to emerge out of his body!

Soon, right before Allen's gawking eyes appeared a small stream of fire blowing through his mouth. It continued for a moment and immediately extinguished.

Allen's mouth gaped a smile formed at the corner of his mouth, although the power of this poorly executed C-ranked jutsu was pathetic. So much so that anyone from ninja world would probably laugh hysterically at him.

It's heat waves only barely capable of roasting bugs but that's all besides the point.

He can finally use Ninjustsu!

"My chakra is lacking, the control and proficiency could use some work but finally..finally Ninjustsu works!" Allen was beyond euphoric.

He couldn't help but imagine himself throwing the same majestic Fire release: Great Fire Annihilation that Madara Uchiha used against the allied shinobi army.

Obviously it's a pipe dream with his pathetic chakra reserves which is barely enough to fuel a C-rank and probably a few D-rank justsus.

"I think the light came from here!" As Allen was dreaming about his glorious blazing future, a voice broke his trance.

Allen was annoyed as his gloomy face turned extremely sour but immediately after, he laughed eerily and viciously, "Since I have such great gentlemen helping in my experiment I shouldn't disrespect them."

Allen retrieved his bone daggers and he hid his presence. He soundlessly climbed on a huge tree waiting for his enemies.

Ram → Snake → Tiger

"Clone Jutsu!"

[The Clone Jutsu is the most basic cloning technique:It is a ninjutsu that creates an intangible copy of one's own body, without any substance. Since the clone itself doesn't have the ability to attack, and thus can only be used to confuse the enemy, it is mainly used in combination with other ninjutsu.]

Allen formed a simple hand sign and an illusionary phantom figure like himself stood besides him.

Clone Jutsu is a low level E-rank ninjutsu. It don't have a matter body and if it was assaulted then the attack would just phase through it.

Allen don't have the enough chakra nor ability to create a B-rank Ninjustsu like shadow clones. He can only chose this move to confuse the enemies.

Allen stationed the clone as a bait and waited, a total of three mercenaries were coming here and one of them is a silver rank so, Allen had to play this decoy game well.

As the mercenaries came near, 'Allen' was immediately spotted by them and they sprung into action and attacked.

The silver rank pounced with his sword towards him and 'Allen' prepared valiantly to dodge as a 20 centimeter blade of light flew into his line of sight.

'Now!' Right before the attack clashed the clone and it disappeared. The real Allen hiding on a tree branch jumped downwards.

He landed right behind the two Copper rank Battleforce warriors who were following the Silver rank mercenary to attack Allen's clone.

Allen prepared to kill the Copper Rank with his Swordsmanship and Sword skills.

Swordsmanship is the art of using the most suitable and efficient way to take down your enemy in the least amount of time.

Sword skills on the other hand is the combined execution of several efficient sword moves. To train in swordsmanship without proper control of sword is akin to trying to build a house without first laying the foundation. The house would crumble instantly once a strong wind blows by.

That is why Allen focused on the eight basic sword moves, Allen's style of fighting with swords is very different than other Battleforce warriors.

But no matter what kind of sword skill, it would definitely involve a combination of eight actions: thrusting, slashing, raising, parrying, flicking, sweeping, swiping and guarding.

Allen trained them so religiously to the point where all eight moves become a natural reflex of his body.

This way, even if one can't see the path of your opponent's sword, your body would be able to react to the strike by using these basic moves and save you from certain death. Only when one trains to this point can one claim that they are able to defend themselves with swordsmanship.
