7 Earning Celestial Points

Alan quickly spotted Ye Ziyun casting a glance in Nie Li's way. She wore a perplexed expression on her face.

And since Alan noticed Nie Li's strange actions, Shen Xiu did as well. She held rather powerful senses and could see a fleering rat over a hundred meters away.

Shen Xiu reverted her transformation. Her eyes swept across the students, and she spoke, "For the next two years, all of you are my students. Although the principal mentioned that Holy Orchid Institute's students are equal, I must let you know the ugly truth. In this world, equality doesn't exist!"

Alan frowned as he heard Shen Xiu go on and on about how unfair life was. And the difference between the Fighters and Demon Spiritualists. She even added how the rankings of the families depended on the Highest Rank of the Demon Spiritualist in them.

Lastly, she declared that the difference between the commoners and nobles was a massive chasm that could never be bridged.

Alan personally disagreed with those words. Well, he still didn't know much about this world, but in the previous world, he had started from nothing and became a name partner of a Top-Tier Law Firm through his own capabilities!

And it wasn't just him. Many of his friends from the college accomplished similar status. Some struck it even bigger than him, and some were slightly worse.

But the fact remained that he had bridged the enormous chasm created by his family background.

However, Alan was unwilling to contradict Shen Xiu at this time. If he did, Shen Xiu would lose face and grow hostile toward him. This was not what he desired.

'Okay, I can see where this is going. I got dealt with a really bad hand…' Alan internally sighed as he guessed what was coming next.

The entire class remained shocked for the next few seconds. The commoner students grew somewhat agitated as this difference was pointed out to them, but none of them dared to speak.

"Teacher Shen Xiu, I have a question," Nie Li suddenly spoke.

Those words grabbed the attention of every student in the classroom. They cast a glance at Nie Li as he dared to interrupt Shen Xiu's lecture when all the other students were listening quietly.

Alan thought, 'And here it comes.'

Shen Xiu coldly snorted, "What is it?"

"Teacher Shen Xiu says that Glory City is the only one that survived the Age of Darkness, that we are the only surviving humans. What proof do you have of this statement? May I ask if the teacher ever went out of the St. Ancestral Mountains and visited the Endless Desert, the Toxic Forest, the Blood Moon Marsh, the Spirit Gulf, the Heavenly Luster Mountains, and the Northern Snow before?" Nie Li asked.

Before Shen Xiu could answer this question, Alan stood up and stared at Nie Li while speaking, "Before Teacher Shen Xiu answers this question, I would like to ask classmate Nie Li something. Have you gone to those places you mentioned just now?"

Nie Li was just slightly surprised to see Shen Yue stand up and speak for Shen Xiu. But he quickly regained his calmness and spoke, "Not yet. I have read about them from the books in the library."

Alan internally smirked as he heard that response. He spoke with a look of confusion, "Books in the library? But aren't there a lot of fictitious books in the library? Those fictitious books contain many made-up names. How can we be sure that the books classmate Nie Li read isn't those books? Do you have some proof?"

Nie Li faintly smiled. He calmly spoke, "Let me tell you a story. There was once a frog in the depth of the well. Since his birth, he has always been in that well. From the start, he could only see a part of the sky, so he claimed that the sky was only as big as the hole of the well. But is the sky only the size of the hole? We could only say that the frog is ignorant."

"You…!" Shen Xiu grew angry as she heard Nie Li refer to her nephew as a frog in the well.

Alan kept his composure and spoke to Nie Li, "Alright. If not knowing places and asking for proof is called a frog in a well, then you are even more stupid than I thought. But still, let's use your analogy. Have you heard of a place known as America? Wait. Have you heard of Asia? Russia? The United Kingdom? China? India? Korea? Japan? Canada?"

Nie Li and the rest of the class, including Shen Xiu, were startled to hear those words. They couldn't even understand the meaning behind those names, and Nie Li soon spoke with a slight frown, "You are just creating names. I have never heard of these names."

Alan shrugged in response, "Really? How can I be sure you aren't doing the same? You want to say something. Give me some proof. Or else, think before speaking. Oh right. Mr. Smartass likes to talk because that's all he can do."

The entire class grew silent as Alan finished speaking those words. Even Nie Li fell silent.

Nie Li couldn't say he had visited those places because he was just 13 years old. And it would be considered a lie. He couldn't say that he read it in a book because no book in the library had any information regarding the other human settlements in the world.

If there were books like that, the entire Glory City would have been aware of other human settlements. And by any chance, if those books mentioned those settlements, those books had already been regarded as fictitious by the general public, so Alan's point remained valid.

In other words, Nie Li had no way to prove that he was telling the truth that these human settlements truly existed.

At this moment, Ye Ziyun was looking at Alan with a slight smile. She found that banter particularly entertaining as Alan made Nie Li swallow his own words.

[Embarrassing Nie Li in the entire classroom. Reward: +200 Celestial Points.]

[Preventing Ye Ziyun from having any interaction with Nie Li. Reward: +50 Celestial Points.]

[Preventing Xiao Ning'er from getting curious about Nie Li: Reward: +100 Celestial Points.]

[Preventing Shen Xiu from getting embarrassed in front of the entire class: Reward: +200 Celestial Points.]

As he gazed at the list of notifications, Alan was amused that saving Shen Xiu from getting embarrassed and humiliating Nie Li generated him the same number of Celestial Points.

'It seems that even the system agrees how difficult it was to deal with that situation.'

Alan soon heard Zila's voice within his head as he sat down on his seat, 'Congratulations, Host! You have earned 100 Celestial Points! You are allowed to choose a skill from the System Shop for free. You are allowed to choose from the Cultivation Techniques, Alchemy Techniques, and Inscription Patterns only.'
