(Jing's POV)

(Location: Glory City)

"Goodnight," I bid as I stepped out of my parents' room and made my way inside of my own. I let out a bated breath as I plopped down onto my bed; since my family had figured out that I had a Cyan Soul Realm I had been unable to get any time to myself. I was constantly being approached by those within the family who were either trying to congratulate me or foster a better relationship since they realized I had the potential to reach Legend rank in the future.

I was already known as a genius even prior to my Soul Realm test, however, afterward I was hailed as a once-in-a-thousand-year prodigy, and some of the clan members practically worshipped the ground I walked so it was safe to say this past day had been incredibly exhausting.

However that didn't mean everything was bad; I had a unique Soul Form after all, and that interested me far more than the color of my Soul Realm.

I had looked deep within Nie Lie's memories to see if had any knowledge of what my Soul Form was and, lo and behold, he did… somewhat at least. My Soul Form was a variant of a Buddha, which was already an incredibly rare Soul Form. From what I had gathered from Nie Lie's memories very few people had a Buddha Soul Form, and all those that did were all Supreme level experts. It seemed like ROB had actually come in clutch.

Since my Soul Form didn't have an official name because it was different from all the other Buddha Soul Forms I had seen in Nie Lie's memories, I was able to name it myself. Because it looked exactly the same as Netero's Buddha, I decided to call it the 100-Hand Guanyin Bodhisattva.

My mom seemed to find the name a bit too lengthy, but I had to pay homage to one of my favorite anime characters ever. Anyways, the Attributes were Holy and Gold– from my memories, Gold seemed to be one of the best defensive types, and Holy made for a good offensive type, not the best, but powerful regardless.

After I knew what my Soul Form was, I immediately began looking for a suitable cultivation technique: if your technique didn't match your attributes then your progression would be slowed down by quite a large margin.

I scoured Nie Lie's memories to see if there were any suitable methods, and not only was there a suitable method, but it was also one of the most powerful cultivation techniques I had ever read.

I knew it was powerful because it was from the Temporal Demon Spirit Book– a Buddhist technique wasn't something I had expected to find within there, but I guess the book didn't discriminate.

Based on what the technique allowed the user to do, its power rivaled that of the Three Heavenly Techniques.

"It's called the Bodhi Path of the Golden Buddha. A bit much, but not bad. Apparently, Nie Lie found it when he was reading through the Temporal Demon Spirit Book." From what I gathered, if I practiced this technique, my battle prowess was guaranteed to exceed those around me.

'But if I begin trying to learn this won't the Sage Emperor come for me later on? And besides everyone else will be able to tell something's off about my technique,' I mused as I fell deep into thought.

"Ah screw it; I've already died once, at worst it'll happen again."

With my resolved steeled I began quietly reciting the chant for the technique, "Breathe in peace, let worries depart, Enlightenment's glow, awakens your heart." As my chant continued small ethereal orbs of light began forming around me and then were absorbed into my body.

[A/N: I know it's a bit cringe but I needed something lmao. Btw if you guys have a different name for the Soul Form leave it here and I'll see if it fits better. Thanks.]

As the orbs rushed inside of me, I felt my body tingling with newfound energy. The Bodhi Path of the Golden Buddha was beginning to resonate with my unique Soul Form: the 100-Hand Guanyin Bodhisattva. It was as if the technique had been waiting for me all along, eagerly embracing its chosen practitioner.

I continued greedily absorbing the power within the orbs for a few more minutes until the last trace of ethereal light dissipated. The room fell silent, and I could feel the surge of energy coursing through my body, filling me with an indescribable sensation of strength and serenity. As the initial rush of power settled, I noticed a subtle change within myself.

It wasn't just my physical body that had transformed; it was as if the 100-Hand Guanyin Bodhisattva had left a mark on my very soul.

The Bodhi Path of the Golden Buddha was divided into 3 sub-sections with the first being: Six Paramitas Attainment.

The Six Paramitas need to be practiced to perfection: Generosity, Morality, Patience, Effort, Concentration, and Wisdom. Each perfection corresponds to a specific realm of power, and mastering them strengthens the user's abilities.

"Each perfection allows me to jump up a rank; I wouldn't even need to absorb Soul Force, as long as I can master Generosity I can jump straight to Bronze Rank, not bad. But how would I even go about mastering something as vague as that?" I wondered as I sighed in contemplation.

'I suppose I should just start by cultivating,' I thought to myself, feeling a surge of excitement at the mere prospect. The idea of being able to cultivate filled me with anticipation and giddiness.

Having been just a normal human in my past life, the chance to gain power for myself without having to rely on outside sources like firearms and weapons was something that I had always thought to be impossible. But here I was embarking on my own cultivation journey.

(Scene Change > Next Morning)

'Did I cultivate for the entire night?' I wondered as I saw the sun come up, stirring me awake from my meditative sleep. Surprisingly enough despite the fact that I hadn't gotten any sleep, I didn't feel the least bit tired and instead felt lighter and more energetic than ever.

As I went to stand up, I realized that my body was covered in a sticky substance and that I also smelled like shit. 'Is this like the process in those cultivation novels when you dispel impurities from your body?'

I hadn't read too many cultivation novels, however, a common theme in the ones I did was dispelling your body's impurities through cultivating.

I needed a shower badly, and I think all the servants and maids should be up by now. I walked outside my room where a few maids were outside, cleaning everything for the day.

Before I would be uncomfortable asking the maids to do stuff for me; it didn't feel natural to rely on other people to do everything for me, but as time passed I gradually became used to it. Besides, our family treated them quite well compared to the other families, and I tried to ensure I treated them with respect considering how hard they worked.

"Young Master! You're up early, do you need anything?" One of the maids who was assigned to me asked. All of the servants and maids seemed quite comfortable around me since I called them by their names, something which seemed to be a big deal to them.

"Miss Jiang, can you please prepare me a bath quickly? Sorry to ask so early in the morning."

Miss Jiang smiled warmly at me and nodded. "Of course, Young Master. I'll prepare a bath for you right away." She hurried off to make the necessary arrangements while I waited outside my room.

As I stood there, my mind wandered back to my cultivation progress from the previous night. My body already felt stronger than before, and my mind had never felt so clear.

I could also tell that I had unlocked some new abilities from my cultivation technique, however, what those techniques were I had no clue. Since Nie Lie never practiced this technique himself he didn't have any knowledge of it past what was already written in the Temporal Demon Spirit Book. This meant that I was all on my own when it came to figuring out just what I could do with this technique.

Lost in my thoughts, I was brought back to the present when Miss Jiang returned, leading the way to the bath. The scent of fragrant oils filled the air as I entered the luxurious bathroom. The bath was prepared meticulously, with rose petals floating on the surface and warm steam rising from the water.

"Young Master, the bath is ready. Please enjoy," Miss Jiang said, her voice gentle and respectful. I thanked her and she left, giving me the privacy I needed.

I undressed and eased myself into the warm water, feeling the tension in my muscles melt away. The fatigue from the night of cultivation started to recede as I relaxed, allowing the water to soothe my body and mind.

As I continued soaking in the bath a thought struck me: how was I going to explain to my parents that I already had a cultivation technique that I was practicing? I had no doubt that they were going to try and get me to pick and practice a technique from the Divine Family's collection, and speaking truthfully they were all weak if I was being honest.

Speaking of which, I have to improve Mom and Dad's cultivation techniques along with Lin's as well. My family members shouldn't be so weak, especially when I had knowledge of so many different techniques that outclassed the ones they were currently using.

So just how would I be able to do so? Perhaps by doing something like Nie did? But how would I be able to sell it is the question. If I say that I passed a test left behind by a Legend rank master who's communicating with me from afar, but again I don't really have a way to sell it.

"Uh, seems like I have tons of planning to do," I sighed. "But that can wait until later, for now, I should go back to cultivating."

(Scene Change > 3 Hours Later)

"So where are we going, Dad?" I questioned as I dutifully followed behind my father. He had come up to me at breakfast and asked me to follow him without even telling me where so I was quite curious.

"We'll be going to the family's treasury to choose your cultivation technique. Normally, a member of the family would just be given one based on what the elders deem fitting, but of course, for heirs of the clan, it's different. Well, if they are talented enough at least," he chuckled as I swallowed nervously, suddenly feeling glad for my Cyan Soul Realm.

But I suppose I also did really luck out with being the heir as it meant that I could use a large portion of the Divine Family's immense wealth however I wished, and even if it wasn't spent as perfectly as the elders would like as long as I can become powerful enough it would offset that completely.

After walking for a few more minutes we finally arrived in front of the storage unit that was being guarded by 2 Silver and 2 Gold rank experts. As we approached the storage unit, the guards straightened up and saluted my father respectfully. "Young Master Jing, please proceed," one of the Gold rank experts said, stepping aside to open the door for us.

The door creaked open, revealing a vast chamber filled with shelves and cabinets, all housing various cultivation techniques, rare treasures, and artifacts. The sheer wealth and power contained within this treasury was shocking.

I muttered a quick word of thanks before stepping inside. As we made our way through the storage unit, my father led me through the rows of techniques, explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each one.

Even though I didn't want to take any of these techniques I still listened intently and asked questions in case I ever ran into a technique that wasn't in Nie Lie's memories; having his knowledge was incredibly useful, but it never hurt to know more.

As we continued walking I tried to find a set of armor and a sword that would be fitting for me; ideally, I was looking for a sword that could serve me until I could get my hands on the Thunder God's Meteorite Sword.

"Feel free to pick anything you want; the elders surprisingly weren't picky at all this time. I remember when I first came here I was only allowed to choose one cultivation manual," my father laughed as I once again felt immensely thankful for my Soul Realm.

It was only about an hour later, that I finally managed to find something close to what I was looking for. It was a gold-rank armor called the Celestial Radiance Armor. There were higher-ranked armors in the treasury but I chose this one for a reason.

The armor was enchanted with the ability to change its size based on the user along with plenty of other inscriptions. However, the main reason I chose this armor was because it could buff the physical abilities of its user by 30%. Not to mention that because this armor was Gold-ranked, it would take someone on that level to even damage me.

I also ended up choosing a Gold-rank sword; it was better than your average sword, as it had a couple of inscriptions on it. One would boost the sword's durability, and cutting power, something that was perfect for me since it wouldn't drain my soul force.

As for the cultivation manuals, I just chose the highest one to please Dad and the rest of the family, but it was going straight into my Interspatial Ring, once I got it at least.

(Scene Change > 2 Hours Later)

"Man cultivating is cultivating boring as hell, I wonder how some people can cultivate for months at a time." After we came back, I immediately headed to my room to cultivate and come up with some kind of plan for the future.

As I was cultivating, I could sense Lin's presence outside my room.

"Jing, come outside, you wanna go buy some elixirs?" Lin shouted as he knocked on my door a couple of times, before deciding to forego courtesy completely as he barged into my room.

"Elixirs? Hmm, I just started cultivating but I wouldn't mind finding something worthwhile, plus I need to buy some supplies. Sure I'll come with you, just wait here for a couple of minutes I need to go ask Mom for some money." I replied as I made my way out of the room.

"Don't worry about money, I've got enough for the both of us," Lin offered.

I shook my head in response since I don't like owning people anything, plus I was going to buy lots of materials. "Nah, it's fine. You should save it for yourself."

(15 Minutes Later)

"How much money did you get?" Lin asked as we walked out of our house. It didn't take much to convince Mom to give me money, all I said was that I was going outside with Lin and needed money. She casually handed me a spatial ring filled with just demon spirit coins to the brim.

"Enough to buy whatever we need, and have more than half left over," I laughed as I showed him the ring on my ring finger.

I still had to buy an interspacial ring for myself since I plan to use this one for just money. Hmm, speaking of money, I should probably go to the Alchemist Association once I turn 10, and do the same thing Nie did.

I can just say I have a master who's unwilling to show themselves in case they don't believe me, but that'll have to be later. I still have to convince my parents of that very thing after all. And besides, if I did that right now, it would seem really suspicious.

As we were walking, I could sense 4 auras trailing us. From what I could tell, one was a Black Gold-rank, and the other three were gold rank. 'I'm guessing that's the protection, Dad mentioned. A bit over the top, but considering the Dark Guild, and the Scared Family, maybe not.'

As we strolled past the vendors and stores, my eyes were darting from place to place trying to find something that would be suitable for me, but sadly I was unable to. That was until we walked past an old grandma selling what appeared to be her family's heirlooms.

'No way is that what I think it is…"

Hey guys, hopefully, you enjoyed this chapter and the cultivation technique we came up with for the MC. More about it will be revealed later, and even though it doesn't seem like anything too special as of yet, I can guarantee it will be; my editor and I spent a lot of time coming up with it after all, lol.

By the way, who do you guys want to be the female lead? I have an idea, but I'm not really too sure who to go with. Just comment on whoever you wish for. Also, probably won't go down the harem route so just one lol.

Also still unsure about whether to kill of Nie Lie or not; MC pretty much just an off-brand version of him anyways lmao. No, but seriously, leave what you want cause I don't really have a clue

Nice little 3k word chapter, so once again I hope you enjoyed it, peace out, and thanks for reading, and have a good day/night. And drop them power stones, lol.
