5 Chapter 5

Being satisfied with todays results Lu decided to visit the training grounds. After cleaning himself he strolled over.

Soon he arrived at a humongous door. It looked heavy but once he put his hands on it, he was surprised that it was light. Only around 100 pounds per door. Pushing it open, Lu entered the Training Ground. Within the training ground, there were demon beast. At most the demon best would past bronze rank. The deeper you ventured in then the stronger the demon beast were. There were also restrictions that didn't allow the stronger demon beast to come out of their designated area.

Lu came here today with one goal in mind. You already know. Traveling through the trees and vegetation Lu would sometimes kick the demon beasts out of the way. He didn't kill them but he just bullied them.

I wonder if she's here today. Maybe, maybe not. Hopefully she is. The sooner I meet her, the better. After about half an hour of kicking demon beasts to the side and traveling around the outskirts of the Training Grounds, Lu felt an aura. Hopefully this is it.

Lu followed the aura. Someone was cultivating and was close to 1 Star Bronze. Jumping from tree to tree he flew through the air. Not too long after locking on the the aura he came up to a scene he was expecting. Lu stood on a tree as he examined a girl cultivating. He could see her struggling hard to breath and to cultivate. After examining for a minute he jumped down from the tree.

"Hey, you, what's your name?" Lu asked to start a conversation. His voice surprised the girl causing her to stand up and take out a knife. So hostile. This girl has trust issues.

"Who are you, what do you want?" The girl questioned.

"I asked first, rude of you not to answer me and demand answers instead," Lu remarked.

I just stared at her. She just held her knife and gave me a wary look. There was a moment of silence. Owl hooting and all.

"Forget your name. You're in a lot of pain huh?", Lu casually said. The girl just shifted her gaze, she seemed angry and sad. She didn't reply and just looked away.

Man, such a quiet person. "I'll help you, only if you wouldn't mind of course," Lu spoke out. Going through his knowledge of the novel and utilizing his library of knowledge he was able to grasp a better understanding of the situation.

You have an illness called the Arctic Disease. About now your whole body should be cold and numb while your legs should be feeling a burning hot sensation. I'm also sure there are bruises all over your body. Truly a painful disease.

Hearing this the girl seemed to become even more saddened. Her eyes started to water up slightly as if confirming what Lu had said was true.

"Please help me," the girl said as she started to sob.

"I'll help, it's just that I don't have the proper resources but if you could supply them then I'll be able to help."

"Of course, what do you need?" The girl asked as she started to compose herself.

"I'll need some Golden Striped Grass and Imperial Sky Grass. Oh and some Copper Sun Cherries. One side note, no more cultivating at night, it's the root cause to your illness. That's all for now. I'll meet you back here in 3 days."

"Okay, I'll get the herbs." she said, having more confidence now.

As Lu turned around to leave, she said, "Xiao Ning'er, that's my name."

"Yea I kind of figured that out. My names Lu, just Lu. See you back here in three days," Lu said with a smile as he turned around and left. Xiao Ning'er just starred at Lu's fleeting back.

Lu kept from tree to tree as he made his way out of the Training Grounds. To be honest, he could have started treating Xiao Ning'er today but he didn't have experience in the Daoyin Technique. The Daoyin Technique was a massaging technique infused with Soul Force. In this instance, it would be used to get rid of the bruising caused by the Arctic Disease.

Reaching the giant gate to the training ground, Lu stopped thinking about the Daoyin Technique for now. He opened the gate and exited.

As he was leaving, three boys were entering. One guy had spiky orange hair. One had relatively good looks. The last guy looked crazy. He was all geared up with armor. They were just chatting about how they would become the future heroes of Glory City. Lu smiled when he saw them.

"Stop," Lu said as he turned around. The three boys turned around in confusion. Who was this guy, did they know him? He just suddenly told them to stop.

"What do you want?!" The armored kid asked rudely.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you three," Lu apologized.

"Hmph, what do you want then?" the same kid asked.

"You," Lu pointed at the orange haired kid.

"Me?" The kid asked in confusion. He had a faint look of annoyance on his face.

Lu pulled out 100,000 demon spirit coins and an interspatial ring out his ass and put it forward to urge the orange haired kid to take it. "Sorry, I'm not rich but this is what I can give you at the moment. Judging by your aura, I can feel something. You and I have a common enemy. Sage Emperor!"

After saying this the orange haired kid's expression become serious for a second before returning to normal. He smiled and took the free money happily. Yup, this is the person I remember from the story.

"What is your name friend?" The boy asked.

"Lu, just Lu," I said.

"Greetings brother Lu. From today onwards, we are brothers! My name is Nie Li," Nie Li spoke.

"Ah so it is brother Nie. It is a pleasure to meet you," I said. "I have things to do but I'll meet you again later. Farewell brother Nie. See the two of you later as well," I said before I turned and left.
