1 The Day

Red. Everything was covered in a layer of red, like I was wearing some sort of visor, except the visor was just blood in my eye from the cut on my forehead. I was in the back of a van, arms and legs were tied and my mouth was gagged. The only thing that comforted me was that I was not alone in here, there were like five or six other kids who were in the same position I was. Was it wrong that I felt much better that I wasn't alone? I tried to remind myself how I had gotten in this situation and I was sure of one thing. I blamed my mother.

It all started this morning, I didn't get much sleep the previous night due to the fun time I had watching and playing games with my friends before I realized it was 7 am. Thankfully I pretended to be asleep just before my mother bust in the room trying to wake me up for school. Something you should know about my mother is that, ever since my dad ditched us when I was 7, she would put on this façade that she was a strong, capable and independent woman. But even the strongest woman on earth had her own problems. I'd sometimes hear her crying at night when I'm supposed to be asleep. That would further increase my hatred for the man that is supposed to be my father. So the point here being that my mom is very strict and my dad, well he's an ass. That's all you need to know for now.

School was pretty uneventful, we had orientation for us freshmen, got our books and student ids, we even got a school tour. Other than that everything was normal till the end of the day when I decided to visit the home of my good RICH friend, Jeremy. I couldn't have a lot of fun at home especially on a school day, so I would often visit his house and play games there. He had a lot of cool games and was a collector so everyday with him was interesting. Weekends were the best because I could stay there two nights before I had to return. After playing a single round of a first person shooting game, I happened to doze of, which looking back on it was not a good idea. I woke up and checked the time on my phone, the brightness hurt my fatigue-filled eyes, but what hurt worse was the time. It was midnight.

I needed to get home otherwise my mom would disintegrate me. I couldn't ask Jeremy's folks for a ride they worked too late and I was pretty sure they were dead asleep. I called my mom asking her if I could stay over, fully aware that she would say no because it was a school night. She told me to take a bus, which at the time seemed like a bad idea to me since I knew a shortcut that could get me there in 15 minutes and a bus there would take an hour or more. I hung up and dashed out the door making my way to the park. The park was huge but if I cut through it I could make it home faster. That was a bad idea.

When I was halfway through the park I noticed two men carrying what seemed like a big black paper bag of garbage. At least that's what I thought until a hand teared itself out of the bag and the two men pushed the hand back inside and sprayed it with something. Uh, what just happened? I didn't know what to do or how to react. Who do I call, The Supes, they would know what to do, but how the hell would I get in contact with people like The Ally or Frontrunner. My mom ,what could she do she's a teacher. The police, duh! Cant believe I forgot the police existed for a second. I reached for my phone and while fumbling dialed in two numbers before I got whacked on the forehead by something dull. Then everything went black and I was out.
