4 Shadowless Forest

Pitch black! That's the only thing Jack found after he ran toward the woods.

At first, he could still distinguish between a tree trunk, shrub, or open space. However, after a hundred meters, everything is dark with no single speck of light whatsoever. He didn't even know where he was going.

Jack started swearing, he wanted to regret his decision at that time, but he was out of options. He only has an open space filled with human corpses or an unknown dark forest to choose from, and he chose the latter for obvious reasons.

Relying on what he can hear and touch to move, slowly but surely, Jack leaves the damned place toward a better prospect. Or he hopes so. An hour of persistence and perseverance took him to a place where hundreds of blue dot crowding like fireflies.

After throwing a few dead trunks to confirm that there was no danger lurking around those lights, Jack approaches it slowly. It turns out that the light comes from a bunch of flowers that resemble a lavender on Earth. Only this one is gleam with pale blue luster, just like the moon in this world.

It also emits a strong smell like the original, so Jack nick a few of them before storing them inside his clothes. At least its smell can help mask the blood odor that radiated from his body. That way, the chances of encountering wild animals, or worse, monsters, will decrease.

"I need to wash this blood stain before finding a place to rest. Continuing to explore at night would only incur disaster."

The lady luck finally smiled upon him. Not long after that, Jack finds another source of light in the form of streaming water.

Jack marveled at the spectacle! The stream of light resembled a river of stars in the sky. Coupled with the ethereal light emanated by the blue moon made it look more dreamy and majestic as if it came out of a magnificent dream world. Without further ado, he approached it carefully.

After making sure that there was no danger lurking in the area, Jack bathed in the river bank. Using the glowing Lavender, he hastily scrubbed all of his body out of its bloodstain, worried that its smell would attract some wild beast.

But his hand suddenly stopped when it reached his neck. Turn out, the dried blood that envelops the neck area is thicker than the wound in his right leg. He shuddered in horror before hastily scrubbing it with the lavender-like flower and put whatever caused it behind his mind.

Fortunately, the lavender-like flower can magically remove the bloodstain. After just a few hard scrubs, the thick and dry bloodstain melted like a candle that met fire.

A few minutes later, his body and clothes are free of blood odor. Without further ado, he began to search for a place to rest for the night.

He didn't fare too far from the river bank and chose a gigantic tree with vines all around its trunk before start climbing it. Surprisingly Jack finds it very easy to reach its lowest branch. It made him wonder that the original owner of his body was raised by a monkey.

After a while, he found a comfortable and bright enough place located 20 m above the ground and decided to rest in it. Finally, Jack has free time to think about what actually happened in the past few hours.

Jack tries to recall all of the incidents that happened after he woke up and contemplates the reason behind it. He finds them horrifying and amusing at the same time. After figuring out that he really was transmigrated to another world, a sense of excitement rose in his heart. The first thing that he did is to check whether he had a system or not.

Jack rubbed his hand together with great anticipation before muttering the magic word, "Status."

The moment he said it, a blue window suddenly appeared in front of his face. Jack raised both his clenched fists upward in excitement before seeing what it showed.

Jack

AGL: 10 +

But the first thing that came out of his mouth was endless cursing.

"Fu*k! Sh*t! Fu*king sh*t! I am still a human and a slave at that! Does that mean the unbearable pain that I went through that night was for nothing? Sh*t!"

If this is a game, the first thing Jack would do would be flooding the GM mail with his endless complaint. Sadly he can't. He didn't even know Who? What? Or How? He ended up transmigrating to this world.

After his anger subsided, Jack tried to analyze his status. First, he was still a human, a level 1 human, and a slave. Second, a title called Transmigrator From Another World, which he didn't know its uses.

The third was the health and mana bar. Well, it's a standard for a world with RPG elements, or at least he has mana. That means this world has magic. Jack is very eager to try it immediately but now is not the right time.

Fourth, his stats are divided into two parts. The first one is his primary stats that consist of STR (Strength), AGL (Agility), and INT (Intelligence). Primary stats have a (+) beside them, which means he can increase it with stats points he will get when leveled up.

The second part is called secondary stats, which reflect his current strength. He can't directly increase these stats, which means that the secondary stats calculated from the primary stats. The way the stats were calculated is still a mystery.

The things that made Jack excited the most were levels that indicated that he could get stronger by acquiring experience. A hundred points at level 1 mean that he will level up by hunting monsters worth 100 experience.

Jack's excitement spikes when he realizes that this system can lead him to become a Dragon Knight he always dreamed of since he was a kid.

Brimming with anticipation, he clenched his right hand before raising it to the sky and said with a loud voice filled with excitement.

"Wait for my return, my wife and son. After becoming a Dragon Knight and conquering this land, I will build a bridge to connect it with Earth so both of you can enjoy it. The world that I build. Hahahaha…!"

His voice echoed in the dark forest before it suddenly stopped. A soft growl that came from behind forces all the hairs of his neck to stand up.
