003

I kept walking around looking where exactly the inn was.

'Couldn't they keep a board of some sort?' I sighed.

Nevertheless, I knew I had to do something about Alice's gaze.

It was obvious, a sudden change in ones' personality would shock anyone.

"What was that??, You could have done that long back, are you an idiot??", She asked, continously pesturing me with questions.

Tsk, pesks.

It's a good thing she was still a child.

"Anna motivated me to stand up and do the right thing, and I just felt pathetic, a girl was standing in front of me, bravely, filled with velour, while I lied down like an absolute extra. I wanted to change that!!", I uttered complete bullshit with a few hints of praise towards Alice.

"W...well its a good thing" she said with a proud look on her face.

'Dumbass', I smirked.

I still had an identity crisis in my domain of problems to investigate and dealing with children ain't one.

We then headed inside the inn, now brimming with customers left and right.

It was understandable, noon time and it was sunny too...

The perfect weather and time for a restaurant.

"OH my, it looks like our cry baby manned up. Why the sudden change brat?", Nara asked with a grin.

Of course I wasn't an idiot to 'not' get her sarcasm, I just didn't care enough to respond.

"Nara, teach me swordsmanship", I asked looking at her with a straight face.

There was complete silence in the inn.

Even the customers were quite.

'PFT',

"Hahahahahahahahahaaaa....",

A whole lot of crowd began laughing at my remark.

I was dumbfounded, who wouldn't be. It's hardly been two days since I came to this world, and with my memories messed up, I exactly didn't know much about the place.

If so many people are laughing at my request, it seems like I was quite famous, for being a whiner that is.

Even Anna and Alice were shocked.

"The brat wants to learn the sword. It's been two years, what made you change your mind. Is it because you were in a street fight, no a kids fight", he said sarcasticly. But there was no malice.

All began laughing at my remark.

'Fck! that's embarrassing'.

The ramble went on for a while until I was fed up.

"OH, shut the hell up, can't I have a change of heart. I just feel weak and nimble. Everybody isn't great right from birth are they ??", I shouted.

But of course, with my voice being that of a child, sounded more like a kid who jumped at the sight of a lizard.

"Pft.....hahhahahhahhhaaaa...",

"Come here", a bald man pulled me and fistbumped my chest.

It stung a bit, but I endured.

"That was not bad Roy" he said with a smile.

Then on everyone started fist bumping or high-fiveing me.

Of course I didn't understand why.

It took quite a while for the commotion to settle down. I gobbled up my bread sandwich along a huge cup of milk and once again got back to work.

"Roy, that was surprisingly weird coming from you", a sweet female voice said.

"Why do you think so Anna??", I asked as I looked into her expressionless face.

She didn't answer, just looked at my face for a while then gave my head a gentle tap.

"It's good to let go of the past, Roy. I'm happy", she said turning away.

I couldn't get hold of her expression but her face was dark.

'Let go of the past?, this kid what did he go through',

It was almost evening and I began to head toward the library. It was present within the inn so I didn't have to venture out once more.

You might think that this was a huge place, maintained well and all that but no.

It was huge, but not well maintained.

It was cleaned daily, but cracks, poor doors, pale walls and lack of employees were it's major problems.

There just wasn't enough money to repair the damages and hire new workers.

You might think since the place was brimming with people, this place makes a lot of money but no, half of the people drink here for free.

I didn't know why?? I had so many questions but no answers.

As I headed to the library in the top floor, I could see how 'undisturbed', this place was.

Dust was everywhere.

I ignored it and entered a average sized hall.

There was a single shelf with five rows and columns filled with books.

It was way too small to be a library.

I quickly picked up a book which read, 'Topography and history of the ancient world Gaia',

It contained the overview of this world and fck me I was surprised.

From just a glance anyone could say Gaia was way bigger than earth.

There were 10 continents present with 4 of them part of the demon realm.

The map kind of traced a black line separating the other 6 continents from them.(them refers to demon realm.)

Evernia

Avon

Lanark

Elvenheim

Konark

Elysium

These were the 6 non demon continents or something.

Daemonheim was the only named continent in the demon realm.

For some reason, even uttering the name of the realm scarred me up.

The elvenheim was the largest continent from the map while Avon looked like the smallest.

I then started reading history and various other details of this world.

For once, it was truly frightening.
