END OF HAPPINESS

The priest wasn't able to find him, he asked Ginji to guard the temple. Seeing Ginji worried he said "it is in the nature of the snakes to wander around. No need to worry he must be somewhere near, as this place is his home, he won't leave," but he knew it in his heart that Shiroi had never done this before so he was more worried at the prospect of him being attacked by the villagers. He went around looking for him and silently prayed to the goddess for her protection. While he was about to break down, he saw a white tail near the lake. He darted towards it and grabbed the tail. Startled by the sudden attack Shiroi lifted his head and struck the priest. One strike was enough for the snake to kill anyone as he was a god. Venom spread quickly and the priest fell on the ground. Realising that he had struck the priest the white snake became petrified. The venom was so powerful that it froze the heart of the priest and he fell unconscious. Frenziedly Shiroi brought the priest back to the temple. Seeing the colour of the face of the priest Ginji understood and instead of asking anything he asked the white snake to lay the body of the priest near the stairs of the temple. Both of them were panic stricken but Ginji tried not to show it on his face. The white snake realised that he had made a huge mistake and he also knew that he could only depend on the goddess who had now hidden somewhere. Looking at ginji he said "take care of the temple and the priest, I'll return after sometime" and he left in search of the goddess. Ginji didn't ask anything for he knew where Shiroi was heading.
