Finally

Another month has passed since the wolves attack. I have been continuing my training in the Ki mode. That's how i call it. When Ki circulates around my whole body it gives me an overall boost in strength, speed and endurance. But what I also discovered from my training is that it also affects my mind. I think faster with Ki going through my brain. On the flip side I still need to improve moving with Ki. I can walk just fine but i don't think I could hold my own in a fight using the Ki mode. It's very taxing on my mind.

"Nice, finally I'm done."

I built myself a small hutt. Using trees as pillars and covering the top with large leaves I'm able to simulate a roof. For the walls I used some strong vines going horizontally from one tree pillar to the other. When it was very dense I put wet dirt on it to seal the entrance of the cold wind. I lit many fires on the side of the wet dirt to harden it. It's looking quite nice. The inside isn't very spacious but it's enough for me to sleep and keep logs dry.

"Let's try it again."

I am now training in Ki mode. I have been able to freely walk while keeping it on for about 10 minutes. My Ki pool is just enough for that. I kept exploiting my surroundings but haven't found anything that would bring me to a civilization. It 's just forest.

Another month passed.

I have gotten the Ki mode in total control, but i can't try it out in a fight with another animal. To be honest, I don't want to. I don't consider myself as being a very brave person.

"It's such a beautiful night." I say looking at the stars from just outside my little hut. The sound of the waterfall gets me in some kind of a trance and I fall asleep in an instant.

At another place far away.

"We should head out now." The captain of the group said.

"Where are we going today captain?"

"We are going to the Stic Village. We got our duties to post there as a group to protect the town of the attack of core beasts"

Back to the forest where William is.

"I can't handle it anymore." It has now been a total of four months that I have been here at the waterfall, but I have decided that I need to find people. I am now getting ready to go on my way out. I have prepared water and food to last me around a week.I may be able to go longer than that because of my Ki but i'm not sure of how long that would be.

"Should I go south? No, I got a feeling that it will lead to a dead end. So let's go north."

With that I left my little Hut, looking at the sky to find out where the sun is and prepare to leave. I am now very proficient in the Ki mode. Every day I keep getting a little bit better. Walking through the forest I saw lots of things, different animals and plants, but still no humans. It's been four days and to be honest I am getting a little nervous. But I keep on going.

"Hey boss. Let's rest a little bit. We have been riding our horses for almost a whole month."

"Okay. Let's spend the night here but then we will stretch the last bit to the village. We are not far away anymore. I think we can get there in two days."

"Nice."

I am walking through the forest when I see something in the distance. It seems like a fire is lighting up the area.

"A forest fire? No, it rained yesterday, it should all be very wet. Is it people then?"

I start getting euphoric. Finally I would meet other humans. I don't dislike being alone, but I long for some company. I start running in their direction.

"Wake up. Something is coming." The captain said to his subordinates.

"What? Now? Where from?" the subordinates ask their boss.

"Three O'clock, coming from the forest."

The group gets ready for an attack. The tension is getting higher and higher. They can hear the sounds coming from the forest in front of them.

"FINALLY!" I scream when seeing this group in front of me.

"A kid?" one of the group asked, very confused.

"Who are you kid?" the captain asks.

"Me? Im William. Nice to meet you all." I answer with a big smile on my face.

"Okay guys you can relax now. it's just a kid." the captain says to his subordinates.

"Kid come here and sit with me."

"Okay."

"Where do you come from, kid?"

"Where do I come from?"

"Yes what village do you come from?"

I don't know. I come from the cabin with the old man, but where is that? And the waterfall? Should I answer the waterfall?

"I don't know. I hit my head and my memory is very foggy. I can't remember things clearly." I lie.

"Really? How long have you been in the forest for?"

"I think around four months, but i don't know for sure."

"WOW. Four months in the woods all by yourself? How old are you?" One of the subordinates asks.

"I am fifteen years old."

"Quite young to be wandering around in a dangerous forest all by yourself. You are lucky you didn't encounter core beast. But first things first. What's your name kid?"

"My name is William. And yours?"

"I am Tom, I am the captain of this small group. That over there is Daniel and over there is Benjamin. Whe are a group of mercenaries and I am the captain."

"Wow, that is so cool."

"Kid, we are going to a Village nearby. It's the Stic Village. Does it ring any bells in your head?"

"No."

"Well that's unfortunate. If you want you can come with us. Well protect you along the way."

"Really? Thank you so much. I would love to go with you."

"Of course you would. Okay. Let's get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we will be leaving at dawn."
