A purple kunai met Madara's clone but he clashed and easily suppressed the opponent

A powerful gust of wind with sharp purple shards was fired at Madara's clone who was still engaged with the clash with kunai.

The shards were deflected by Madara and the wind didn't even make him budge. Suddenly a small purple spinning ball attacked Madara.

But before it can impact Madara's clone it was replaced by a swirl of flames. But even the flames were spun when came in contact with the ball and purple spikes were present on the depressed and punctured ground where the ball impacted, which dissipated in the blink of eyes.

"Good" Said Madara's clone to seven-year-old Orochimaru. Madara was very satisfied as Orochimaru was able to defeat his clone in taijutsu and made him use ninjutsu.

In this one year, Madara saw that Orochimaru has already progressed very finely. During this time he only made Orochimaru's foundation in everything quite good.

Although he was not an expert in fuinjutsu it was not a big deal to provide notes on the basics of Fuinjutsu.

"Are you going to apply for anbu at this year's exams?" Madara asked his disciple. Madara doesn't have any restriction on their training regime but only care about the result of practice.

And he also thinks that a normal chunnin would not get as dangerous a mission as anbu and a less dangerous environment mean less progress.

"Hn, sensei" Orochimaru answered.

Orochimaru had already done a lot of missions and he didn't get even one talent jade in the following year. Moreover, as he is becoming stronger the system has already stopped giving points for bandits a long time ago. Now he only got them from progress in training or occasionally missing-nin of low rank.

For taking anbu exams one of the criteria is seeing mission efficiency, and he is sure to pass it as he has a mission record of 40 D rank and 45 C rank with a 100% success rate.

He did mission like a workaholic and Orochimaru was never bored of it. Still, he was in touch with his friends regularly. They are geniuses as Orochimaru was sure that some of them have the strength to defeat elite genin now which was quite a feat.

As for the senior sister, he regularly spars with her when she is not on a mission, it looks like she is also a workaholic.

Orochimaru was ready for anbu exams. He doesn't know much about the exams but he can still say that he is confident in himself.

Arriving at the designated venue Orochimaru saw that less than 30 people were waiting for the examiner.

Before the examiner arrived the contestant has already reached the '40s. Most of them are less than 13 years old.

Finally, the examiner arrived, he was wearing anbu uniform and cat mask and prompted us to follow him immediately.

Orochimaru and most of the people followed him instantly, whereas the ones who did not follow of course were disqualified already as it is expected to follow the leader's order in anbu in a matter of seconds or it can lead to whole team death.

Although Orochimaru was not a sensor ninja his hypersensitivity was indicating that a group of people other than the examiner and candidates was following them , and according to him they might be anbu members overseeing our performance or disqualify candidates.

The examiner maintained low chunnin speed and we followed him at a constant speed but even after half a day he was showing no sign of stopping.

Some of the candidates were showing signs of exhaustion, although Orochimaru maintained a constant speed and used the least movements required for the following the examiner.

The exhausted one already started taking food pills while following. After all, it can be seen that it was also part of the exam to follow him.

After night descended everybody realized that the examiner was not going to stop. Orochimaru already noticed that their number already dwindle to 35 people.
