18 Volume 1.17 Awakening (2)

Myrene was trembling. Not because of fear but anger. She didn't hide the contempt she had with Frayah and glared at her.

"It seems you have grown a lot, my dear daughter." Frayah said with tenderness like she was really her mother who greatly missed their child after not seeing for such a long time. "It truly aches my heart to not be with your side. I wish I had spent more time with you. But there will be no one left at your brother's side if I stay with you."

At the mention of her brother, everything blackened around Myrene. And there was this strange voice inside her whispering to her.

{Kill her.}

{She separated you from your brother.}

{She is the one who caused your mother's death.}

{She is the one who makes your life miserable.}

{If you kill her, you will be able to see your brother again.}

Myrene had a dagger in her sleeves. Right now, the only thing she wanted to do was to attack Frayah. But someone held her left shoulder to stop her.

"It is not the right time." Ares whispered. "Remember all the things you have learned."

Then he walked past Myrene and greeted Frayah.

"It's been a while, Madame." Ares bowed down politely.

"It seems you and my daughter got close within these two years?" said Frayah, as she gave Myrene a sideways glance.

"I have been just teaching her as per your instruction, Madame."

Myrene awoke from her rage and delusion. 'What was that? Am I still affected when the time Frayah possessed my mind and body?' She took a deep breath to calm down herself. She clenched her fist not noticing that her nails dug through her flesh making it bled.

'Hah. One of the things that Ares taught me is to never show emotions towards any enemies.'

"Let's not delay any further and begin the test," Frayah lent her right hand towards Myrene, thinking that she would accept it.

Myrene simply walked passed to Frayah. And Frayah rather hate, her eyes flashed with madness and a creepy smile escaped her lips as she watched Myrene's back heading towards the three cloaked person.

"Your highness," the three cloaked people bowed at her presence, then the one in the middle gestured towards the crystal orb that was in the middle of the table that they already prepared.

Myrene felt a slight shivering hearing them called her with 'your highness'.

'Hah. This is quite aggravating. And I thought I will see the one I inherited my eyes from. But other than Frayah and these cloaked people, there was no sight of him. I guess that is for the better as well.'

Myrene headed in front of the orb without a word. Then she awaited the next instruction.

"Touch the orb with both your hands, and that is when we could see the magic you have, young lady."

'Once I touch this crystal, my magic will finally be awakened.' Myrene glanced back to the crystal. 'The moment I have been waiting for so I can start up with everything once again.' Myrene took a deep breath then touched the crystal with both of her hands.

Suddenly she found herself in an empty dark place. Her body was the only one that was glowing. 'What is this place?' When she began to walk, a blinding light erupted in front of her which made her cover her eyes with her hands.

{"Beloved child of the other world, my greetings are late.}

A sweet and melodious voice of a woman echoed.

{With your current bloodline there is nothing that I can do for I am not the one foreseeing the darkness.}

"Who are you?!" Myrene called out while still covering her eyes from the light.

{I am the one maintaining the balance of the light. And you will soon meet your foreseerer in due time.}

The bright light started to dim, and when Myrene looked at her front, there were now three glowing orbs that were floating. From left to right, the color of the three orbs were as follows; green, red, and dark.

White orb that represented wind magic. The red orb that represents fire magic and the black orb that represent dark magic.

This was the common set up of magic in this world. The magic could be classified into two, one was inherent magic. These were magic that you naturally possessed. These could range from the standard seven elemental magic, wind (green), fire (red), water (blue), earth (brown), lightning (purple), dark (black) and light (white) and the Generis type of magic that didn't classified to any elemental magic.

And the second one was learnable magic that could only be acquired after you awakened your inherent magic.

This ranges from the submagic that fell under the seven elemental magic. Then there was the Summoning Magic, Beast Taming Magic, Shapeshifting and Alchemy. These four were counted as learnable magic.

'So I am a three elemental user. This is certainly good but with my current state, I will be used to it. If only I can hide this…'

{I can't give you my blessings. However, I hope this will help you with your endeavors.}

Myrene's thoughts were cut off when she heard that mysterious sweet voice again. She almost forgot about her. And then she didn't answer her question from earlier.

Another ring appeared in front of Myrene but this time it had a golden color.

{Ring of Concealment. It will help you conceal your presence and true nature at your will. If you want to reveal what you are hiding, the ring would be able to sense your will and would reveal what you are hiding.}

"If this ring conceals something? Will I not be able to use it?" Myrene asked with still wariness in her voice.

{You will be able to use it even if it is concealed. But as long as you don't reveal it, it will remained unseen to anyone.'}

The ring flew towards her index finger. She tried to remove it but she couldn't. 'Ring of concealment...'

{You must understand that the world will undergo a transition that has already been predetermined by fate. Even if you are a beloved child from another world, there is nothing I can do for you.}

'Predetermined fate. Is she talking about the novel?'

Myrene had already an inkling of who she was talking with. "I see." Her only response. Her voice was calmer now.

But there was no response anymore and a blinding light once again erupted.
