Reality Check

Xiaoling stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep. Her warm quilt felt heavy, so she pushed it away. There were so many unanswered questions in her head after meeting Mengzhen. She even felt like she knew Mengzhen. He felt familiar.

She sat up and sighed. If this went on, she would never be able to sleep. She wore a robe over her nightgown and left her room. She stood outside Ru's room, contemplating if this matter was worth waking him up.

Weisheng had already gone to sleep and had work in the morning. Besides, even if Xiaoling wanted to talk to Weisheng, she didn't trust him. She sighed and knocked at Ru's door. She needed to talk to someone about this.

To her surprise, Ru opened the door right away.

"A divination earlier supposed that you would come to see me," Ru clasped his hands together and bowed, "So, I waited for you."

Xiaoling smiled as she entered Ru's room. The two sat over the tea table, having ginger tea.
