1 Prologue: The Middle of The Woods

The sun is out in full glory with little to no clouds in its path. Above the sky, a winged figure soars letting out a screech as it crosses the vast expanse of wood covered land.

The eagle soars above the clouds and disappears leaving behind a shadow that rushes after it only to be left behind.

『 Screeeeeeeeeeeeeech!』 One last time, the eagle's screech trails off into the valley.

A lone, blue haired girl looks up to the sky. She uses her hand to block the sun's glare and spots the black figure of an eagle overhead flying in front of the sun. Slightly confused about her surroundings, she looks back towards the wooded area in front of her.

She looks down at her watch that reads 3:15. The same time showed on her watch before she arrived in these woods in who knows where.

Vestra I think He called it. She thought as she made her way towards a path up ahead. A bit of a way from her, in the underbrush, was what appeared to be a clearing and the silhouettes of two figures with their backs to her.

The noise of conversation could be heard between them, but their figures were hidden by the blockade of bushes, branches, and overgrown grass.

She slowly made her way towards the dense vegetation moving the branches and bushes that scraped her skin, and got tangled up with her clothing and blue silky hair.

As she gets closer, she hastened her pace recognizing the two voices in front of her. Uncaring of the scratches, she reaches the small clearing where the boys were talking with a smile on her face.

In front of her was a small clearing leading to a deep cliff. The two boys turned around at the sound of the thicket rustling giving her a clear view of her friends. Both were tall, wore glasses, and were two of her closest friends in school.

The one to the left that was Rafael. Slightly taller than the other boy, had blue jeans, and a black shirt with his traditional black and orange checkered hoodie. Although he was on the slightly bigger side, his height and workout after class helped him keep in shape. He had a brownish skin complexion along with medium length fuzzy black hair, and olive colored eyes. He was mostly known by kids in school for being really smart, friendly, and quiet most of the time, but if you get to know him he can be outgoing.

The one to the right was Miguel. He was sporting blue jeans, a white shirt, and a black Chicago Bears sweater. Overall, he was skinny, but really fast and agile. Which is why he joined the football team as a wide receiver. Miguel, who most of the time was called "Miggy", had a white skin complexion with olive colored eyes, short brown hair, and is known for making others laugh.

Rafael saw the girl who approached them with a smile that could make anyone's heart stop for a second. Although she had few twigs and leaves in her hair, and was covered in small cuts all over her arms, she was still as beautiful as can be. Rafael and Miguel were used to seeing her everyday so her charm wasn't as effective knowing that she can be a bit of a pain sometimes.

Her name was Ashley. She was ranked the 4th cutest girl in school by students. As she got closer to Rafael and Miguel, you could see she wasn't left behind in height being just as tall as Miguel. She wore jeans, and a purple shirt which outlined her chest and made others stare. She had long white skin complexion, long midnight blue hair, with sapphire blue eyes. Although she was really beautiful, she still doesn't have a boyfriend. She is known for being carefree, outgoing, and enjoys making others happy. She likes spending time by herself, but enjoys being with her friends.

Ashley moved closer to the group who each, including herself, had a medium sized backpack. Rafael looked at his watch and looked at Miguel, and then Ashley, who was trying to get the leaves in her hair.

"We should get going before the sun goes down." Rafael said as he reached over to Ashley and slowly removed the pieces of twigs and leaves in her hair. "Stand still for a bit."

"Thanks." she said letting Rafael clean her hair. Miguel took off his sweater as it was getting hot in the sun.

"Raf's right. Although we could, I don't want to sleep in the woods with those creatures." Miguel said as he threw his sweater over his shoulder. Rafael got the last leaf off of Ashley's hair and rummaged around his backpack until he took out a compass.

"According to Him, there should be a town 5 miles North of here." Rafael said as he looked at the compass and scratched his head. "It should be…." he turned around a few times. " That way!" he says pointing on the other side of the cliff.

"Alright then." Ashley yells out jumping enthusiastically. "Let's get moving! We're burning daylight! I don't wanna be bitten by mosquitos tonight!" she says walking down the cliff path. Rafael and Miguel looked at each other and smiled wryly. Miguel is the first to go after Ashley.

Rafael looks one last time towards the luscious valley. What did we get ourselves into? He sighs and starts chasing after the duo making their way down the cliff.

"Hey guys, wait for me!"
