1 Chapter 1: Another Man

Author's P.O.V:

As the train moved further and further away from what was once her home, Alex finally felt the tears she had been keeping back for hours finally crash down her cheeks, her eyes streaming like waterfalls.

She never cried.

Calming herself down, Alex regained her composure and held her tears as she silently stared at the beautiful scenery, glossy eyes taking in every detail, but unable to revel in its true beauty as she once again turned her mind to more pressing matters.

Alex didn't even know what she was doing on this train, heading away from everything she loved and the man she loved. Was this karma for some crime she didn't even remember committing? She didn't know. Alex was so deep in her thoughts, that she didn't notice the man beside her glaring into the side of her face in irritation. He hated being ignored. Especially from his wife.

********** Alex's P.O.V ********

I was interrupted from my thoughts when I felt a sharp squeeze on my left thigh. I winced in pain and turned to the cause of it. Him. I slapped his hand away and turned back to the window, only for him to back-hug me suddenly. At this point I was boiling with anger at his fake show of affection, but I froze when I heard his next words:

"You wait until we reach our destination. If I knew you were this stubborn, I would have killed you when I first met you."

For the first time in her life, she felt fear. True fear for her life. Knowing that this man, the guy supposed to protect her, would keep his promise if he had to.

He was a killer, after all.
