36 | Part 34

Jungkook continued to stand in the hallway, even after he heard the front door closing.

How did Taehyung do it? Every single time he got him flustered and maybe even blushing like this.

Now he regretted inviting Lucas. Just a little bit. Jk would have enjoyed Tae's presence and the cuddles in bed.

But it wouldn't be appropriate to leave his guest alone in his own room and to sleep in Th's instead.

He went to Taehyung's room, took a shirt of his, one that was in his bed and smelled like him, and walked back to his own room.

At least something that would remind him of him.

Just before he laid down on the mattress, he found Lucas on the couch, his blanket only covering half of his naked chest and Jungkook convinced himself he should pull the blanket up.

Something he did out of simple kindness and pure politeness, caused Lucas, who was not fully asleep yet, to smile and have a warmed heart.

—- in the meantime —-

Taehyung and Jimin jumped through the dark streets, giggling and laughing, running with arms open and a bodyguard behind them, who was struggling to keep up.

"Ah I love this night!", Taehyung yelled into the streets.

"Pssshh, we don't want to wake anyone", bodyguard Lewis said.

"It feels amazing doesn't it? We should do this more often!", Jimin said.

"I agree! I feel so happy and free, I can't even describe", Taehyung said.

"This is why I was at the rooftop that night, back then. For freedom", he said.

"Wasn't that the night, where you almost kissed Jungkook?"

Taehyung blushed.

"What ingredients do we need anyway?", he asked and Jimin chuckled knowingly.

"I don't know, don't you have a recipe?", he asked.

"No, don't you?"

They looked at each other and laughed.

"We are so chaotic."

"Totally."

"Let's just pick a few things from the store like cocoa and chocolate chips and maybe, a few eggs, that should be enough."

"You bet", Tae replied.

"Lewis, you coming?", Jimin asked.

"If you'd stop running like little kids, I would."

"Let's go on three", Taehyung whispered.

"You're so mean."

"Come on. One- two- three!"

They started running, leaving Lewis behind groaning and shaking his head.

As they tried gasping for air, they dropped to the floor and laid on the cold ground, in the middle of the street.

"Ah, I love this night", Taehyung said again.

"Me too, Tae, me too."

"I could lay here forever. Just said, we can't see stars in Seoul."

"Yeah, that would've added the cherry on top."

Taehyung wished Jungkook would be here. He was just about to say it out aloud but then he realized something.

He had needed moments like these with Jimin. They haven't had this much fun since forever.

They continued to lay like that a few minutes.

"You say it's beyond us, what is beyond us?Let's see and decide", Jimin started singing.

"We've been meteoric, even before this.

Burns half as long when it's twice as bright.

So if it's beyond us, then it's beyond us,

let's see and decide", Taehyung continued the lyrics.

"And I will still be here, stargazing..."

"...I'll still look up, look up-", Taehyung sang.

"...Look up for Love...", Jimin completed.

"...And I will still be here, stargazing..."

"...I'll still look up, look up, for love", Jimin finished.

Silence.

"That was beautiful, but can we go now?", Lewis asked impatiently, standing in front of their bodies, looking down at them.

Taehyung and Jimin got up and continued walking.

After good twenty minutes they arrived at the first store.

"Lewis, you wouldn't mind if we go in there right?"

He didn't even wait before he dragged Taehyung along, knowingly ignoring Lewis' eye roll and, very enthusiastically, started looking through all sorts of ingredients, they might possibly need.

—a little while later—

"Jimin, we should take some of these too right?"

Taehyung asked and held a few packs of flour in his hands, probably the most important thing to bake.

He looked up as he got no answer.

"Jimin?"

Jimin was leaning against a shelf, his arms crossed, hugging himself and his neck bending down, letting his head hang.

"I think we have all we need. Are you coming Lewis? Could you help me, pick him up?"

Lewis sighed and both dragged and carried him out of the store.

After Taehyung paid and let everything disappear in the bag of his, he gave it to Lewis, for them to exchange their luggage.

Taehyung picked Jimin up, giving him a piggyback ride, while their bodyguard heaved the backpack on his shoulders.

Fortunately it was not that far. Getting a taxi would be smarter. But that was just money they could save up.

So Tae abandoned the idea.

It then started raining and got worse minute by minute.

At first, Taehyung enjoyed the change of temperature because he had felt warm anyway but now, after both his and Jimin's clothes were fully wet and he felt the thick, cold water droplets, sliding their way down his cheeks, he started shaking a little bit.

"Hey Lewis."

"What?", Lewis asked annoyed.

"I'm sorry we dragged you into this. I hope you at least get some money off of watching us."

Lewis' brows furrowed.

Then he calmed his facial expressions.

"Thank you, Taehyung."

"We're almost at the dorm now anyway, you can go home. Thanks, Lewis. Have a good night- oh I'll take the bag, wait."

Taehyung quickly slung the backpack around his arm and then stabilized Jimin on his back again.

Every new step up the stairs left a small puddle of water.

His jacket, hoodie, shirt underneath the hoodie, even the socks in his shoes felt wet and cold.

Standing in front of the door, he hastily searched for the keys in his pocket but they were empty.

Except for his phone, which was soaked as well, there was nothing.

He remembered when he had kissed Jungkook goodbye and Jimin had called his name to leave. Then they had closed the door behind them.

Did they seriously go without keys?!

"Jimin? Jimin wake up", Taehyung said and put Jimin on the floor, kneeling down in front of him, shaking him awake.

"Jimin the keys? Did you take the keys with you?"

"Keys? I thought you'd take them", Jimin mumbled sleepily.

Taehyung closed his eyes.

"Fuck."
