The Gravity Of The Situation

Chris, Michael, and Gabe entered the stairwell. The stairs were slightly rusted and a white worn number 100 decorated the wall. They walked down the stairs to the 99th floor, and we're about to continue down again, but we're stopped by a barrier with a sign. It read: Clear the floor to continue.

"Are you kidding me? This is ridiculous." exclaimed Gabe. "All that action and we can barely progress." "Well, at least we won't get bored." stated Chris. "Hey, there's more writing on this sign!" pointed out Michael. They looked at the sign, and saw that there is also an elevator somewhere on this floor. Michael pulled out some food from his backpack and started munching down. "Hey! That's all of our food!" yelled Gabe. "But I need it for my ability." said Michael. "I turn calories into energy, then I can shoot it out." "Alright, but don't eat all the food in there." sighed Gabe. The group walked into the hallway of the floor. Although the 100th floor was more like a living quarters, the doors in the hallway were more like offices instead. Paper littered every surface and a soft crunch filled the air every time someone took a step.

"Oh? Visitors. I haven't had any in a while." a raspy voice said just out of view.

"Who's there?" firmly questioned Gabe.

"Just one last face you will see before you get crushed to death." chuckled the voice.

Before they could take another step, a heavy weight came upon them and they dropped to the ground. Chris coughed as he was getting crushed by the weight of the extreme gravity. A figure stepped out of the darkness and scoffed at them. "You think you guys would be smarter than that. Why would you trust anyone you came across?" "I swear, I am going to get out of this and beat that smirk off of your face." uttered Gabe. Astonishment filled the figures eyes as Gabe started standing up under the intense pressure. Dullness returned to his eyes as he lowered his hand and Gabe got crushed yet again.

"You wanna try standing up again?" questioned the man. "My master will be pleased with this."

"Michael." Gabe spat out.

"What?"

"Do it."

"Do what? You just told me to do it, but I don't know what 'it' is. You are gonna have to be more specific."

"The ability thing you have!"

"Oh yeah, that."

As soon as he said that, Michael extended his palm towards the man. Right as he did, a shining light started concentrating in his hand. "What is that?" questioned the man. "Just a little gift from us to you." retorted Gabe. Michael let off the shot, and it flew toward the man. The man was startled, but lifted his hands up and the gravity on the group was released.
