12 Second Issued Quest

Gerard took a deep breath and open the Menu Interface.

[The host is initiating to issue a quest. Wait for a moment]

[The host can now issue a quest worth 6 Silver Coins. Since the Supreme System Interface is still at level 1, the host is given a choice of what quest should be issued but after the Host meets the requirements and levels up the Interface to a certain degree, the Supreme System will give a free rein for the Host to issue a quest the Host desired most]

[Please choose what quest should be issued]

-Have the Player look for a party member, a maximum of three players in a party, and kill 5 Level 2 Goblins in the nearby forest and get their Mace.

[Rewards] 4 Silver Coins and 50 Copper Coins. One Ring with HP Regenerative Ability (+1 HP regenerative ability every two seconds). One Ring with MP Regenerative Ability (+1 MP regenerative ability every two seconds). One Ring that has a 20% chance to block 10 damage.

-Have the Player kill 2 Level 1 Goblins in the nearby forest and get their Mace.

[Rewards] 1 Silver Coin and 50 Copper Coins and One Ring with MP Regenerative Ability (+0.5 MP regenerative ability every two seconds)

[Condition]

[The quest must be completed within 5 hours. If not, the issued quest will be deemed void and the Host cannot issue the same quest to the same player]

[Rewards to the Host upon completion of the quest are 6 Eternal Coins and 6 Silver Coins or 2 Eternal Coins and 3 Silver Coins plus the Maces of the dead Goblins. And 30% Supreme System Experience]

[Please wait a moment to issue the quest to the Player's Interface]

After five seconds, another piece of information popped up on his interface.

[Quest has been successfully issued to Player's Interface. Please wait for the Player to complete the quest]

Gerard's mouth twitches upon reading the quest information. This is far different from the previous quest he had issued.

The difficulty and rewards increase significantly. At least, the System is considerate in giving Angel 10 hours to complete the quest. Giving her enough time to look for players and form a party.

Oblivious to him, finding a party is not hard. Killing a 5 Level 2 Goblins is the hardest part.

But he is satisfied and happy when he read that no matter what choices Angel chose, the Experience he can earn is 30%. Maybe it is because Angel is a healer and if she chooses the second option, then it is far more difficult for her to complete the quest.

Meanwhile, Angel can't contain her happiness and suddenly bow her head to Payne Blanc in front of her as a sign of gratitude.

Although Angel finds it difficult to kill 5 Goblins and Level 2 at that even with a party of 3 players, she is still grateful for triggering a quest.

After thanking Gerard, she quickly turns around and leaves the place, leaving Gerard alone with the store owner who still has a grim expression.

Angel quickly opens her Menu Interface and proceeds to the Forums. All kinds of discussions about this game are posted in Forums. Millions of players are always reading the Forums hoping a gamer expert will post and give pointers.

As of the moment, millions of players are viewing and using Forums. Different players are bickering at each other while the others try to be friendly to form potential party members.

Everybody knows forming a party at the current stage of the game is logically a good choice but the only disadvantage is the distribution of loot compared to the Experience gained after killing monsters is fairly distributed to each member of the party by the Supreme System. It doesn't matter who took the last hit, as long as players are in the party, the experience earned is fairly distributed.

Due to loot distribution, players are hesitant to form a party, unless everyone compromised.

Angel then starts typing.

"I triggered a quest and I am looking for two players to form a party. This post is only for Guardian and Swordsman or Swordswoman. I will be waiting beside the Fountain in Central Plaza of West Town. Further information will be discussed later."

After ticking the post button, Angel patiently waits for players to flock to the Central Plaza.

Meanwhile, the majority of players on West Town are grinding monsters to level up but as expected, they are having a hard time killing a bunch of Level 1 Monsters.

West Town is surrounded by a large forest home to different animal species and monsters. The animals are quite dense and seem to be infinite in numbers and even though NPCs and monsters hunt them for food, their numbers seem not going down.

Although West Town is surrounded by dense forest, two general roads were kept in check by hundreds of authorities to protect merchants and travelers going in and out of West Town.

These two general roads are interconnected 50 yards away from the main gate of the West Town but led to a different location once the first 50 yards were passed. One road would lead to the neighboring city, called Amethyst City. While the other lead to the heart of the capital city, Edo City, known as Tokyo at present.

West Town belongs to the Edo Kingdom. This Kingdom control over a hundred thousand square kilometers of land which is the current same size as South Korea. The might of the Edo Kingdom is not to be meddled with, the King alone is Level 250 that can wipe out players in an instant.

Inside the forest surrounding the West Town, two players are currently resting in a shade of a particularly large tree.

"Say, can we really defeat those kobolds?" The swordswoman tone is somewhat down.

"Even I have no choice of blocking their normal attack. They are just too fast for us. Let's forget about the loots for now and focus on killing Level 1 Goblins instead." The Guardian replied while shaking his head.

These pair of players are currently at a party and trying to kill kobolds. Their reason being is that they accidentally heard rumors from players exiting the forest that a player was able to loot a Level 2 Basic Sword.

The loot drop depends on the monster's strength. The stronger the monster the higher chance it can drop weapons or items upon death.

Kobolds are known as a little more ferocious and deadlier than Goblin. Compared to Goblin who is slow but has higher attack damage, the Kobolds are faster and quick which made them deadlier than Goblin although their damage is not that much compared to the latter.

Although Goblin can deal 15 damage in three seconds, Kobolds can deal 20 damage due to their terrifying speed. So in the hierarchy of monsters, they are deadlier than Goblins which made players consider them that they have a high chance of dropping items or weapons upon death.

So when this pair of players try to kill one Level 1 Kobold, they failed. It far exceeded the agility of the Swordswoman and the Guardian is having a hard time blocking the attack. Once the effect of his skill vanished, he will be at disadvantage. Due to this, they fled from the scene as fast as they can and now they are resting in the shade of a large tree.

The Swordswoman only sighed hearing the Guardian's comment and proceeded to open her Menu Interface and look at her map.

They covered at least 3% of the forest looking for Kobold. This data alone is enough as an advantage compared to the majority of players still trying their best to trigger quests inside the West Town.

Surely, the Map Interface is very useful. When the information about the Map is announced, many players complain about having zero visibility. But when they entered, they were flabbergasted during their trial upon logging in, the map visibility cover the whole of West Town.

That is why she thought that covering the map or venturing throughout the map will be a nigh significance. Although they still need to venture into the forest, it is not significant as before. Many players were delighted but there are some were saddened. These players want to sell information about the unventured lands.

She then closes the Map and proceeds to look on the forum.

Her eyes widen when her gaze fell on the most viewed post in the Forums. It is pinned as the top 1 most viewed.

The title of the post is Triggered Quest.

If she's not wrong, this is the first quest ever triggered in the Kingdom. And this is quite a feat! Only a few hours had passed since the official launch. Everybody knows how it is hard to trigger the quest. Even as the game progress, it will be hard to find one. Just a basic alone is hard to trigger, then how about Hard Quest? Or even Epic Quest? She is also doubting that the Heavenly Quest will not be triggered in 5 years.

She quickly clicks on the post and reads the entire post.

[I triggered a quest and I am looking for two players to form a party. This post is only for Guardian and Swordsman. I will be waiting beside the Fountain in Central Plaza of West Town. Further information will be discussed later.]

She almost jumped in happiness when she read that the player is looking for a party, a Guardian and Swordsman or Swordswoman at that! And what's more! The player that triggered a quest is in West Town! Their hometown!

"Oi! Gear up and let's head back! We have an opportunity to partake in a quest!"

The Guardian's eyes suddenly lit up and instantly stood up.

"Why are you telling me? You should have run already and you know I will follow you. Why wasted is time telling me? A lot of players are surely swarming now on the Central Plaza!" The Guardian replied as he dashed forward without looking back at his friend.

The Swordswoman's jaw dropped but quickly realize what he meant. She instantly followed her friend.

As she did, she read the comment in the comment section. Envy and enjoyment are pouring into the section!

"Oh! How lucky you are! Can I join as well? I am a dignified and expert Swordsman in countless virtual games. I will assure you we can finish the quest!"

"I am a full-fledged Guardian! I can join in the part as well!"

"Miss! Tell me how did you trigger the quest? I can pay you in real-world currency! I will send you a friend request so I can message you my email address."

"Are you dumb? You cannot add players without interacting with them first, go see her first! Anyway, Miss, I am not a Swordsman nor a Guardian. But I can assure you, my damage is top notch for I am an expert in Assassin Job!"

"Look at these people trying to coax her! Shameless!"

"Damn! She's from West Town? I am from Amethyst City! I wonder if it is worth it to buy a teleportation scroll and teleport to West Town?"

"Brother it is not worth it, the Teleportation Scroll cost 5 Silver Coins, and our starting coin is only 2 Silver Coins. Where did you get the confidence to have 5 Silver Coins in you?"

Many more expressed their willingness to join the party. Some also give assurance that the loot will all be given to the party leader which is obviously the player who posted the content.

The Swordswoman cannot help but empathize with them. Although loot holds a significant amount what these players eye the most is the rewards.

The reason being is, the quest is categorized into two. These are called Lone Quest and Party Quest.

A lone quest is done by a single player while the Party Quest is done by a party team.

If a reward for a lone quest alone is enviable, what more for a party quest that is more difficult to complete?

The higher the difficulty, the greater the rewards! Loot is pale in comparison to reward items or equipment.

The reason being is the reward item or equipment is unique and these items are not included in the drop items of monsters. There's also a high chance of these rewards item can be leveled up. Of course, these things vary depending on the quest's difficulty and the monster's difficulty.

At this stage of the game, loot from monsters is not worth it for players. As for Goblin, once died they will drop Mace, their weapon. Mace only offer low damage, lower than their basic weapon. So who would equip it? They can only be sold it to NPC shops at a cheap price, 1 or 2 copper coins a piece.

Although monsters also drop items or equipment that can be leveled up, usually those monsters are mostly Level 10 to 15. And at this stage of the game, no one would dare to step into their abode.

And the only monster they can only kill is Goblin.

So this shows that quest is like winning a jackpot at the current stage of the game.

And she cannot help but laugh at the player that commented about the teleportation scroll. The Teleportation Scroll at this stage of the game is like buying a luxurious car in the real world.

The distance between West Town from Amethyst City is a 3-day run without stopping. Is it achievable? Of course not!

After venturing out from the forest, the pair, at last, arrived in front of the main gate of West Town.

The pair quickly went ahead and fall in line.

"This again! Why do we need to fall in line every time we enter the town?" The Guardian grumbled.

"It cannot be helped, once we reached Level 10 and gain some reputation, we can skip the line and enter the town."

Gerard knows about the reputation of players. He and the players have the same mechanic of reputation.

He was just surprised earlier than he too, as Special NPC also has a reputation system. The only difference between their system is how to gain a reputation. Players can gain a reputation by relentlessly doing a bloody quest or through jobs from the Adventurers Guild.

But unfortunately for the players, even at Level 10, they cannot earn a reputation that much. If they want to earn a reputation at a fast pace, they needed to become adventurers first but becoming one is like killing a level 15 monster at this stage of the game.

Even if they complain, the developer cannot help them because the Supreme System deems it fit inside the game.
