Second task

Dhvani always fantasized about having her own body after she came here. It would be fine if she became a cat or something or even an object like it happened in the novels. She lived in a cold white space and readily muted all of Ajay's things. Because she would be notified by the system or by Ajay himself. She more or less felt like a bus driver driving Ajay and the bus took him to his destination. Or more like a babysitter. He had really weird ideas for the spells he wanted without any suggestions on her part.

Like automatic utensil cleaners. Where would the spell find detergent? Spells aren't almighty. It would freak everyone out if detergent started flowing out from its packet or jar. She would freak out first and she normally spoke for most of the population.

Then there was an automatic document writer. It was a full-on cheating strategy. Dhvani felt that she was really in a big dilemma. It would be great if she used those for well, nothing. This spell used by anyone was just cheating. Like, if students do this, what would they learn? The education system or more like any existing system would curse her into twenty layers of hell.

And the best of them was automatic color-changing clothes. She liked it but if companies did not find any other alternative for their clothing range, many people would be angry. The colors, for one, would blind someone's eyes if used inappropriately. And there would be disputes for jobs and other stuff. She liked the idea though.

She asked him to write those ideas down and then there would be a product appraisal kind of thing where he would pitch ideas and she would most probably try her best to reject them. Because as amazing as those ideas sound, the workload would also increase somewhere between linearly and exponentially. So she decided to help him with simple and useful spells. She didn't have any hope for harmless spells because anything had both, light and dark sides. Like how a photon had a wave and particle nature.

Also, she missed her family. Considering that they were alive, she felt the need to look at them. She knew they were alive but she didn't want them to be sad because she wasn't with them. If she could find a way to communicate with them, then it will be great. Well, she fell into a daydream again.

"Do you think my show will be a hit?"

What show? It suddenly dawned on her that she had lured him into investing in a survival show. She supposed that all shows bring profits. So this show would also do the same. Anyway, they wanted publicity for this millionaire who was actually a billionaire. Shocking, right? He hadn't disclosed most of the companies he owned. Or else she would have felt pretty guilty about cheating his money.

["It doesn't matter, host. The task is for you to gain publicity. As long as your company becomes famous, it will be done."]

It was supposed to be an easy task but things went in a funny direction.

The show which was supposed to be hard to survive evolved into guests making fools out of each other and became a funny road trip because of a particular contestant. She suggested a survival show because such kinds of shows were filled with danger and adrenaline rush interested viewers. Personally, Dhvani thought the contestant should be a transmigrator or a book wearer. Why did she think so? Because she could feel the difference in that person across the screen. She didn't need to observe the girl because the energy radiating off her tipped Dhvani. Maybe her system senses were like spidey senses or something.

She was a system present, here. Then there could be rebirth, transmigration, and book wear. It seemed like all the books she read came true at once. Then what was her host in this story? Was he a protagonist or a villain or a stepping stone or cannon fodder or maybe nobody?

She put up a service request at once. And her boss almost immediately replied. She felt flattered by this.

"There is a transmigrator. You can help each other but cannot talk or get involved directly. So as a system whatever you do should benefit the world."

A standard answer that gave no information on that transmigrator. What if the transmigrator wanted to hurt her host? Her life was tied to his now. She didn't want him to die. So she had one more thing to do. It is really hard for the system these days. You have to work and again think of how to keep the host safe. She had no useful functions for her help now. It would be fine if she got upgraded.

But the task was considered to be done, at least some part of it. A happy thing out of a depressing one, she accepted the result.

[Main Task Progress Detected: 10 points rewarded]

[Strive hard to finish the task.]

And then came the next task. The tasks were rolling in.

[Main System Task: Invest in Supernatural Research Institute]

[Reward: 50000 points]

It seemed easy. For her, but not him. Because the institute had only worked with the government and the top families. So now, they were stuck. They brainstormed many ideas but rejected them one by one.

Because the institute wouldn't need their money as they were not short of it. And the government wouldn't let any other company join because of privacy and whatnot.

The good thing was that the task had no time limit. So one day, while they were still thinking, a piece of blockbuster news exploded in their quiet life.

Ajay's biological parents came.

He was kidnapped and sold when he was just born because of some business competition, and also, he had an elder sister. So as a baby brother, he was expected to be well-loved and cared about. But he lost those due to the traffickers. So, anyway, now he found his family and had both adoptive and biological parents. Also, there was no fake and true child drama. And parents were also sane because they did not love any one child more. Or else, Dhvani would have wanted to bang her virtual head if she saw the fake and true son fight. Some things from books and shows didn't happen in real life. Even if those happened, she never witnessed them.

And when Dhvani visited his biological parents, she was shocked to see his sister. She was the one, Dhvani thought to be a transmigrator. But she transmigrated as a baby when she was born so it could be said that she was born again with memories. Dhvani wondered if they were from the same world. She didn't think that his sister would fight him because of his identity or anything. Because from what she observed, his sister found his identity. His reality show funding showed its use here. Dhvani was amazed at the task her boss had set. Had he foreseen this result? No one would answer this question for her, sadly.

Ajay's dad was in a suit and had a very focused look. Both his parents had the looks of movie stars and that explained his sister's occupation. She was also a movie queen but Dhvani focused on shows so she missed movies or she would immediately find her identity. It was her lack of news here. Her detective senses would have immediately discovered the relationship between them, she comforted herself. She wanted to become an almighty system that could scan anyone or anywhere and tell information for this reason. It was her short-term goal.

His mother had jet-black hair while his father and sister had brown hair like him. He inherited his mother's eyes. And his features were like a perfect combination of his parents. This family would turn heads on the street. Because his mother had retired from the industry, no one could relate to the two of them.

Meanwhile, the family reunion went well.

"Now that we have found you, we can retire. Both of you can manage the group. And we will meet each other every month. What do you say?"

Dhvani liked how they did not force him to accept their identity but gave him his rights, inheritance, and most importantly freedom. Also, they can become close on his initiative so he wouldn't feel overwhelmed. They stayed with him but did not overstep their boundaries. She was really liking their family.

They talked for a long time and they had no sense of alienation. It was like they had already known each other all his life. Maybe blood bonds were like this. His mother, the Shadow Queen Prema, first cried but now she was laughing with her son. Even his father, the head of the Neel Chandra group, Mr. Ravi, had red eyes which he seemed to hide well.

She left them to their world. She didn't want to intrude on their family time. So she found a piece of very good news later.

And, she found that their family was also involved with the institute. Ajay was one lucky guy. He was the kind of guy every system would like. This way, there were fewer detours for her task completion.

But she forgot one thing. Easy work doesn't mean quick to finish. One hard task could sometimes equal a hundred easy tasks.

What do you think? Any ideas?

Mini Interview:

Miss Indu, how did you find your brother?

Indu: We were searching for him almost without pause. I entered the film industry so he could see me and try to contact me because we look really similar. But he didn't see it. I then decided that I wouldn't play on his team because he won't find clues. I always find out the information of the shows I participate in and there he was, in the investors profile.
