1 Mystery of the Black Box

There isn't really time to think when a holographic black box falls from the sky and stubs your right pinky toe. Only pain. Amelia's thoughts are violently swearing this holographic box, but after her pulsing toe diminishes its thumping--she picks it up. Doing this, whether or not she knew, would open a Pandora's box in her life and to quadrillion other human descendants currently roaming space--expanding to different planets.

She twirls it around between her fingers, inspecting it with a glimmer in her eyes. Is it finally her turn to have a System? There's been plenty of people throughout the year that have claimed the existence of these so called 'System' artifacts. The first time it was discovered at around 2045 during a mission to Mars for pulling the plug on a long hoped plan for a terraformation plant that failed, the 'System' gave a group of astronauts Apollo 70 the plans on how to build a functioning Terraformation Plant.

A holographic image of a man with an intensely frowned brow appears largely within the sleek white room, over Amelia--looking into her eyes, "Amelia Crofman! Get your ass over here this instant! Waiting on you Trainee!"

Oh crap! Space Battle training started today! And she really wanted to make a good impression this time. This is the eight month course she's been waiting for, "Yes, sir! I apologize immensely, sir! Something--"

"I still don't see you here Trainee. If I don't see you here in the next ten minutes say good bye to your future!" He yells and the hologram disappears.

Amelia puts her white hair in a tight bun, suits up in what could be the fastest donning of a suit in history, grabs her full cover light gray helmet and leaves through the automatic door.

Humanity would scouer the galaxy and possibly the universe to look for these Systems. She finally has one, but it looks slightly different than the others. Usually they are brown with white lines and a glowing orange center. This one is black with a green glowing center. The third type of color scheme presented in history.

Amelia ponders what kind of impression this System would have. Hopefully its not like the Groundsweeper System, a System that dooms the person wielding it. Her spine vibrates intensely at the thought. She pockets the strange System, thinking more about the fact she'll be late to one of the best experiences of her life and the subsequent lecture she'll be having from Technical Sergeant Ursing.

The clean metallic, gray and green double striped doors slide open parted down the middle. The room she enters is gargantuan. Glass floors that when stepped on melts and forms around other trainee's feet. A screen that spans hundreds of feet across shows a bunch of different sized red ships. Each one set to different power levels.

Small holographic screens appear in front of active trainees as the glass full cases around them with enough space to extend their arms full front and side. This is the SBA, the Space Battle Auditorium. Amelia is soon going to be a Planet Analyst and save her planet.
