Derrick's reaction was instantaneous.

Alone, and separated from every other monster by kilometers and kilometers, was a single red dot.

His face slowly twisted into a dark and perverted expression, one that would honestly mislead anyone who didn't know him. He looked, in simpler terms, like a maniac that wasn't afraid of death.

As for why, it was because it was the first time he had ever seen something like it. It was as if its presence had scared all other lifeforms away, to the point where a simple intrusion would mean death.

Even Io, which was supposed to be solely controlled by the necromancer, could feel its domineering presence and started to become agitated, much to its rider's surprise.

Derrick also noticed that all the surrounding red dots formed a pattern, and one that was quite special : they formed rings.

This observation excited him to no end and caused his heart to race at incredible speeds.
