Chapter 3

A week has already passed and I think I can see something ahead.

I told myself I'll only look at my status again once I reach a city. Now I admit it's a bit weird not to check my progress, but I did it because I wanted to find out how I would progress without checking every other minute.

And I must say, it was quite an interesting experience. I probably didn't notice at first because it has only been a few days at that time, but now I can clearly say that every time I stop or mess up while exercising I feel a ripple showing me new inspiration for either fixing my mistakes or showing me something new I could try. Truly mysterious.

But at least it shows that the system will do its magic no matter what I do. Not that I mind, but it's still weird having no idea why you are suddenly improving by leaps and bounds.

Still, I'm pretty sure I've improved a scary amount. Although my reaction and usage of my abilities isn't that natural yet, the total power output is comparable to Taliyah in the cinematics, riding waves of stone and creating a protective barrier.

As expected wind and earth are the two elements that improved the most. No wonder they were used as my general mode of transportation. But if I can already ride huge waves of stone at around level 30 I wonder what will happen once I reach level 100. Will I be able to split the land and cause earthquakes? Nah that would be ridiculous... or would it?

Continuing to daydream about my possible exploits in the future I got started getting closer to the city I saw in the beginning. And as I got closer to the city I was shocked at its size and glory. It was a massive city easily housing more than 100.000 people. Behind the massive city, one could also see the ocean.

Excited by the prospect of meeting people again I realized that I should probably not surf towards the city. I still didn't know much so keeping a low profile was probably a good idea until I found out where I was and what period it is.

So once I got a bit closer, I got off my favourite surfing rock and started walking towards the city.
