Brutal Defense 1

Lucas arranged their positioning, and teach them how to synchronize. On the front line, Giegie and her horde of giant ginger cats. Shadow lead his horde to be an assassin, while Coco and his commanders as back liners.

Coco is also the one who will translate Lucas order to his commanders, Coco and Lucas are standing behind the commanders. The commanders were standing behind their own hordes, proud of being the twenty commanders.

He did not put the chili dragons on his line-up, he only asks for help if he can properly prepare. He doesn't want to exhaust them too. Same with the black ant pepper, they can't chomp down a hard bark of Pine Throwers.

Everything is ready, the darkness of the night covers the sky. The area becomes silent and only the sound of marching could be heard. They can't see anything, the moon was covered with clouds.

Lucas doesn't want to order them, he wanted them to learn how to depend on their self, but the darkness makes it hard for coco and his commanders.

"Coco!" He shouted to get his attention, "Command the Battalion 1 to shoot into the darkness, straight ahead. Don't shoot in full power, just to stir some trouble to treetans!"

"Cooocoooo!~~"

Shoook! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Eight coconut cannons shoot a ball of energy after their commander. The ball of light rotates like a planet and volley in the sky. The light from the ball lit up the way and show the location of the treetans. The shots might not be their strongest shot but are enough to shot down the weakest treetans.

Crack! Crack!

A crisp sound from the collision vibrates in the darkness, it echoed into the vast land. They're 300 meters away from the wall!

"Giegie! Hinder their movements! Shadow don't show yourselves yet!"

"Meoooorrrr!" Giegie growls and charged into their rank. Her underlings rush to their location and started to hop on their body to another. Slashing their limbs from time to time.

They can't stay in one position, considering their numbers, if they decided to focus fire in one of them, death is the only possibility.

Slash! Slash!

The barks of the treetans started to fall and reveal their inner part. This makes the treetans panic, they run out from their group to see them properly to throw a stronger and much accurate shot.

They are finally scattered, they make a group of 3 to 5. They are vigilant, and also intelligent. They don't want to take a risk and went far by themselves. They know the danger of going out alone.

"Battalion 1! Rest while collecting enough energy for full out attack! Battalion 2, target the back row. Make sure you will avoid Giegie and her horde!"

"Coooccoo~~!"

Swook! Bang! Bang!

This time, the coconut cannons fire a much solid sphere. The light becomes dimmer and the speed of rotation is much faster from the first shot.

Bang! Crack! Crack!

The cannonball penetrates to their rank like a drill and destroys their formation. They panic and throws a random stone, they want to defend their self but it causes a confusion and makes a friendly fire.

Everything is finally in a mess when a purple claw glows from the dark and slashes them down. Crack! Crack! Like an assassin, the blackcurrant ambushed them from the left and right.

After the clash, Giegie and her group retreated while shadow and his horde hide in the darkness.

"Cooocccooo~~!"

Cooo! Swookk! Bang!

The battalion 3 & 4 fire synchronize and shoot a full power shot. They shoot in a straight line this time. They don't need to volley since the strength is enough to fly in the air for a minute.

The Battalion 3 & 4 is exhausted and step down to recover. The Battalion 5 & 6 get their self-ready and took aim.

"Coocoooo!~~"

Swook! Bang!

Creak! Crack!

The attack caught the treetans unprepared and was hit by the barrage. Half of the treetans were destroyed and turned into piles of wood.

'So far, so good. Now, the only problem do they have a leader?' Lucas asks himself and narrows his eyes. 'I hope there's none'

After the barrage, the treetans finally lose hope and run in all direction. But their effort is futile, even though there's only ten of Blackcurrant Panthers, the darkness hide them well and make it easier to deal a damage.

Giegie did not play anymore, they were already tired and wanted to join the fight. Their gigantic paws and sinister looking claws slash on their bark.

"Haha! Look, Coco. It's already finished. Want to make a congratulation shot?" Lucas asked Coco from his side.

"Cococo~~!" Foooshh! Coco jumps out of joy and shoots a ball of blinding light. The light makes everything visible, it travels in the sky and landed on something.

Bang! Bang! The collision made two deafening explosions and made a gigantic fire. The fire lits up everything in that area and reveals something they did not expect.

"W-what are those!?" Lucas exclaimed. The fire revealed a towering treetan with destroyed barks. The size is three times compare to King Tar & Zan, it stood in four limbs and its head is full of spikes. But something's wrong, the limbs aren't proportional to its body. The front legs have the same length as his body, but the back legs look like a cone or a drill, its length is 8th of its body.

"Grarrrrrroooooaaaaar!" The treetan's roars vibrated in the air and intimidated the felines. It was fortunate that there's not many of the Pine Throwers left. But the roar still makes a big impression to the survivors and decided to fight back. Three of the giant ginger cat were injured before everyone could move again.

Blackcurrant Panthers rush inside and pull the injured out of the battle. The situation becomes serious and the people on top of the wall open their widely.

Neil took out a book and flip it fast, he pointed on a picture and was amazed, "It- It can't be... That giant is Mahogany burrower!?"

"Mahogany burrower? What is that?"

"Lucas, you're so lucky! Mahogany Burrower is a slow type of treetan, but they are not a type who wants to be alone. They also burrow their selves into the ground to keep their body protected. Also, that Mahogany Burrower, it looks like a king type. Come on, kill it fast and become the city's most important person."

"Grandpa, what's with the rush? You're so excited while my planteros are injured." Lucas replied as he pulls out his ax and shovel, 'I just hope that I can injure them with my shovel.'

Neil crossed his arms and snorted. "Hmp! Come on Lucas, you won't regret it, do you even know how rare this mahogany burrower? You can have your own shrink bag factory if you can extract their sap!"

Lucas stopped and turn around as if he heard something but can't understand. He gazed at Neil, and open his mouth, "Extract what? A factory of what? Grandpa, could you please repeat what you say? I can't hear you clearly."

Neil smiles mysteriously and throws him the book he is holding. "Do you even know how rare a Mahogany Burrower is? Our country could only collect up to three normal type Mahogany Burrower, and the sap they collect is enough to make 100,000 normal shrink bags, 50,000 shrink lace and 200 pairs of shrink gloves. And it's equally divided in twenty-five major cities around the country!"

Lucas gulped and pick up the book, he can't trust what he heard, but there's a fight that he needs to win. He put the book inside his bag and prepare to make a move. 'Mahogany Burrower's sap could produce a shrink bag. It means I can't use my ax due to its drying effect. Damn it!'

He throws his ax to his bag and equipped with shrink gloves. He took out his hammer and hoe before charging into the battle. It was hard to fight in the darkness, but being used to it can only acquire through experience, and being able to fight in the darkness is the greatest thing a warrior could acquire.

Lucas is vigilant, every step he made was planned. He doesn't want to waste his time fighting against the pine throwers and charged to the mahogany borrowers. When he reached half a distance, the flame coco lits up started to dim.

Lucas rushed to take down one pine throwers carcass and chop with his ax. He throws the lumber to the fire and makes the fire burn longer.

He reached the feet of the mahogany borrowers, he bent his knees to prepare his attack. But looking at the size of the monster, he can't but amaze. The movements of the treetans are freaking slow, avoiding the attack will be like walking in the streets.

He swings his hoe to check if he can down chop its limb. Chunk! But what happened is not what he expected, it only manages to slice its bark. It's like a dot compares to the enormous size of the treetan. He tried to scoop with his shovel but it looks like a spoon scooping up a single grain in a mountain of rice.

The treetan might not take his attack dangerous, but his speed can't keep up and decided stomp on the ground.

Grooogogo! The stomp made an earthquake shook everything in the surroundings. Behind the monster, five silhouettes of gigantic treetans raise from the ground like a zombie.

'Shit! This is too much, it even brings his companion! I need to think of a plan!' He jumps on the treetan's back to protect himself. He runs to the treetans neck to avoid its long front limbs and protect him from his companions.

The mahogany burrower shook his head slowly, but the speed could not throw Lucas from his position. Its companion finally caught up and charge toward him.

"Grraaaagh!" The five treetans is much smaller than their leader and more agile than it. The leader seems nervous from the charge and started to tremble. It raised his back legs and stomp on the ground. It's much weaker than the previous one. But something is amiss, the leader opens its front limbs and form a '+' sign.

'Oh shit! Waahhhhh!' The treetan spin like a drill and burrow itself to the ground. Lucas gripped into the bark of the leader so he won't be thrown away if it suddenly stops.

Blagg! Blagg! The charging treetans landed on the ground, but, four of them collided. Their enormous body suddenly stops and cracking sound could be heard from them, the surviving treetan was scared and left his comrades and started to dig too.

Lucas, who is on the nape of the leader suddenly felt something wrong. "What? Why it's not stopping!? Shit!"

Lucas released his grip and jump out of the hole. The leader started to dig to the ground and live the place. It's like swimming on the land as if a fish trying to escape.

"Fuck that thing! I almost die F-uwakkk!" He landed on the ground and started to swear, he suddenly felt dizzy and puke to the ground.

He shoots a glare to the four mahogany borrowers who are petrified, its body is creaking a lot. He armed with his shrink gloves to check if they are still alive.

Rumble! Rumble!

The first one he touched shrank, that means it's already dead, same to second and third one, but the fourth one did not. It should a glare to Lucas and tried to raise its hand.

Lucas leaped back but it was for nothing, the treetans suddenly collapse and fell into the ground. He checked it up again, this time its body began to shrink.

'Whew! It looks like it doesn't need to chop a part of its body to kill them. There's something happened when they collide, I have to confirm it!'

Lucas throws a glance to the city and saw trucks drives its way to his location. "What the hell, these guys are terrible! They are only here to collect the carcasses and the sap! Tsk!"

After a few minutes, the trucks finally arrived. There are only three trucks in total, Ranrem drives the first one, followed by Neil and Hugo.

"Hahaha! Money! Money! I'm rich!" Hugo runs to the carcasses and kisses them. He looks like a crazy old man worshipping a wooden statue.

Ranrem stare at him emotionless, she approached his back kicked his butt, "Disgusting, you're going to damage the goods, stay away."

Instead of getting angry, Hugo kneeled down to the ground and look at her, "Ah! Kick me more! It feels like dream!"

"God, brother Hugo, do you want me to kick you instead? Lol, a masochist. Haha!" Lucas approached him while laughing.

Hugo suddenly felt danger and run behind Neil, "G-grandpa, can we start already? I know someone who buys them at a high price!"

"Haha, of course, we have to extract its sap. But, it's up to Lucas if he wants to sell it or not." Neil said and look at Lucas and wait for his response.

Lucas thought for a moment and considered every possibility, "Hmm, nope, we could sell the leftover, but I need to experiment first and make our defense."
