"I... Ugh, never mind." Alex struggled to compose himself, a wave of uncertainty washing over him.

"Did anything happen while I was out?" He attempted to regain control of the situation, his voice strained.

"Nope, all good here," Selina replied casually, though her eyes betrayed a hint of curiosity.
