Forging a Sword and My First Kill

The reason why I want to be a blacksmith is that right after I got out of the Adventurer Guild I was given a quest to join the Hephaestus Familia and learn how to forge weapons. The quest looked like this

After she was done checking what condition my body was in she was pleasantly surprised as to how my muscles were so dense. She told me to take off my shirt and lay on the couch so that I could receive her familia crest. After she pricked her finger with a newly forged sword by her she let a drop of blood slide off her finger and onto my back.

The next moment letters and numbers started to appear on my back and after they were done sorting, she placed a peice of paper onto my back and the letters and numbers were copied onto the peice of paper.

When the procedure was done and over I put my shirt back on and headed to a forge with Hephaestus so I can not be totally clueless as to how to forge. After we arrived in the forge she told me to pick any hammer and ore on the wall to forge with.

I was looking through the hammers until I found one that caught my interest, it had the color black covering most of the hammer with golden lines outlining the edges of the hammer. After picking up the hammer she looked at me with a surprise for picking one of the more outstanding hammers.

When I was done picking my hammer I walked over to the ore section and looked through a bunch of different ores some that I know and some that I had no idea existed. After searching for a while I find one that fits what I wanted, it was a gold metal with a black tint to it and was almost like quarts but a lot more sturdy, she was once again surprised by my pick.

Right after I finished I made my way towards the anvil and where all the tools are and start to go over on what needed to happen in order to my project to be successful with Hephaestus. After about thirty minutes of telling me the basics, she becomes more friendly with me because of how well I caught on to things.

After finished with becoming well know about forging I start to heat up the metal which I now know is called 'Protanium'. After about two to three minutes I place my heated up metal onto the anvil with the tongs and start hammering, I was sweating furiously by how much effort you have to put into forging.

Soon done with the hammering part my sword forms the shape of a lightweight rapier. When finished with the hammering session I take a break for a few minutes before starting to take the other metal that I found for the handle while I was on my break that had a black and gold design exactly like my hammer and start to heat it up.

After the other metal that is known as 'Zegil' was done heating up I grab it with the tongs and do the same process with it as the other metal but with this one, I shape it into the handle for the blade. Once done with that I grab the blade and sharpen it on the sharping stone that Hephaestus brought over. After sharpening the blade to the maximum I place the handle and the blade on a table and start to mend them together.

Hephaestus was so proud and shocked about how much of a genius I was, This was her first time seeing a person she gave instructions to that had no idea how to forge almost made a weapon that could be considered almost as good as some of the familia members that were working in forging for almost 5 years.

Now when the sword was finished Avery was dumbstruck at what he just did, he looked at the sword that he made with his own two hands and congratulated himself for this masterpiece. The sword was sharp as a shark tooth times one hundred and It looked as graceful and deadly as a dragon.

He was proud after observing his work, he gave the sword the name of { Stardust Slicer }(A/N: Just temporary tell me some names in the comments) It was the best he could come up with because he wasn't the creative type of person. He also named his hammer { Stardust Smasher} (A/N: Same thing as before).

After finishing his naming he told Hephaestus he'll go to the dungeon to level up and get excalia. She was happy that she just got a genius as a familia member and that he was a good blacksmith too so she didn't mind.

While walking to the dungeon Avery saw a whole bunch of different stores some that were weapon shops and some food shops. When he arrived at the dungeon he showed his guild card to get past the guards and started to walk down to the first floor of the dungeon.

Avery quickly unsheathed his sword from the sheath that was black and gold that Hephaestus bought for him. He held the sword poorly and his stance was something of idiots would be proud of but any pro that saw this will just shake there head at this weak posture.

He saw a goblin walking around in a circle like an idiot there race is and started to creep toward it with his sword pointed lower to the ground so that it wouldn't see the sword if it had spotted him. After he was a few feet away he ran towards the goblin which alerted the goblin in which he turned around to see a human about to swing at him with something long and pointy.

A second later and the goblin had his head chopped off and Avery standing proud and victorious. After that first kill, he went on a rampage of killing goblins and kobolds and grabbing all the monster cores and storing them inside of his inventory for the rest of the night.
