I'm having a blast in here. All of the materials I could ever need to improve myself, total solitude to do my business, and of course plenty of time.

I touch my blade to the others on my rack with [Telekinesis] by moving around. As I absorb the swords I can feel myself improving, the materials that compose me becoming stronger.

It's a shame that these swords aren't "Spirit Weapons". I'm not sure if Cultivators weapons are called that, but the novels never lie. They don't have any skills to absorb, or any [Spirit] or [Qi] stats.

They are mortal weapons, but they do plenty to strengthen me. By the time I've completely absorbed all of the swords on my rack, I'm already moving on to the next. I can tell that the higher the swords quality the better it's effect, so I'm saving the best for last.

After a while most of swords in here no longer do that much to improve me, so I move on to the better looking ones.

[Traits]

[Superior Sword] [Bloody Weapon]

Bloody weapon? I guess that means that this blade has seen battle, though I'm not sure what the trait does. I absorb it, something faint passes by me but escapes my absorption. Still, the superior materials and craftsmanship of this blade do wonders for me.

These swords are harder to find, so I simply absorb everything I come by. I absorbed a few more of those well-built ones when I realize I've just emptied the armory.

Well, all good things must come to an end I suppose. Let's check my stats.

[Mental Fortitude Lv.4/10] [Spirit Manipulation Lv.7/10] [Shapeshifting Lv2/10] [Telekinesis Lv.4/10]

Very nice. It look like my stats haven't increased that much but it gets harder to increase them as they get higher. It also looks like my [Telekinesis] leveled up twice, and my [Spirit Manipulation] leveled up once.

I wonder what will happen once I get it to level ten. Now that I seem to have emptied the armory, I will take my leave. Still, I have my suspicions that that wasn't all this place has to offer.

After all, this is the city guard in a cultivation world. The "armory" I was sent to was probably for mortal weapons without spirit power or Qi.

I investigated the swords with the luster, and they were just made out of different materials.

They weren't really glowing, but the materials should've added a glow to my blade. Now that I think about it, what do I look like? I switch my perspective once more.

... I'm just stunned. I look perfectly crafted. My blade shines with the luster of the various materials I've absorbed. Now that I'm getting a closer looks it's more of a coloration of the blade.

It looks like I've been polished countless times, my blade sharpened. The metal which forms my blade is durable and sturdy. It's no longer steel, since I absorbed the other materials.

My handle's materials have also been augmented. The fusion of different woods and leather has led to an exotic and sublime wrapping. Although I'm only a perfect blade by mortal standards, I'm sure a poor vagrant cultivator would settle for me.

After all, I haven't even seen a "Spirit Weapon" yet, so I'm sure they are expensive. And I'm pretty much at the peak of what mortal blades can reach. Life is good.

I can't find any other sword, so I try to find a way out. I look around and find a door. I can't open it since I have no hands, so the only option is to slice through it.

Hehe, time to test out my new strength. I use my telekinesis to pick myself up and throw at full power. Although my full power isn't anything to be proud of, it's still enough to slice through a door.

*POW* Upon impact, I hear a crisp sound. It's nice but I realize that I'm stuck into the door. It seems that it's stronger than I thought. I try to use [Telekinesis] to pull myself out, but I'm way to stuck into it to get out.

Crap. I'm stuck inside of the door. Somebody is gonna come in here to get a weapon and realize they are all gone, except for me. What would happen to me if people find out?! Perhaps they wouldn't suspect me as an inanimate object, but they would probably investigate.

I don't know the methods of this world, so I'm not taking any chances. Luckily, I have a skill that works perfectly for this situation. [Shapeshifting]. I use it to make myself smaller than the hole I caused with my blade.

I become unstuck, and repeated the process of hurling myself and getting unstuck.

[Skill [Shapeshifting] has leveled up to Lv.3/10]

[Skill [Telekinesis] has leveled up to Lv.5/10]

[Skill [Shapeshifting] has leveled up to Lv.4/10]

The level ups help speed up the process as I create a gap a little too small for me to fit through. I use [Shapeshifting] again to become small enough to fit through the gap, and escape.

Freedom! I escape the armory, I enter the interior of a building that I quickly find my way out of. Out of the building is a courtyard, I see people training with their own swords.

Ahh, how it is to be wielded by someone. To be an instrument of death in a soldiers hands. An idea forms in my head. I need to collect "Daos" for the system.

Some "Daos" must be rarer than others, and can only be absorbed from special environments. Perhaps a battleground can make some more exotic "Daos" than I can find on my own.

Plus, I really want to have a wielder again. Something in my instinct as a sword compels me to seek a wielder. I fly high above using [Telekinesis] while waiting for the soldiers to finish practice.

I find a few that I like. Some of them remind me of Ren, beggars looking for a new chance at life. Others look like they have a strong ambition, I assume they have good prospects.

The strongest of the soldiers is unswervingly loyal towards the upper brass of the army, he would probably gift me to them once he figures out how special I am.

I select one soldier, a young man with burning ambition in his eyes. Although he isn't a beggar, it's clear that he comes from a poor family. He seems like he would be the protagonist of a novel or anime. Well, I'm the lucky chance.

The only thing missing is people calling him a cripple and then a immortal suddenly gives him a heaven defying technique.

When the soldiers are done practicing, it's already dusk. They eat dinner and I can definitely tell them apart when they are eating.

The beggars savor the food, while the more well off all brought their own. One person even brought some sort of meat, that kicked up a fuss. It's probably meat from some sort of beast with cultivation.

The young man I choose as my wielder ate what the army provided, clearly not enjoying the food. Still, he ate so he could become strong. That's right! That's the kind of determination befitting of my future wielder!

Some of the soldier walk home, the beggars and non-locals walk towards the bunkers. My wielder is one of the soldiers who walks home. I follow him, and wait for him to fall asleep.

While he is sleeping, I sneak into his house. He seems to be the only one who lives here. I creep up next to his bed, where he keeps his sword. I absorb his sword. It's nothing remarkable, a standard issue sword.

It seems that in this world, there is constant conflict. Mortals probably die quickly, maybe even cultivators. The only way for people to survive is to be strong enough.

If my wielder woke up, and realized that his sword was replaced by another one he would probably think it's suspicious. That's why I memorized the way he took to his house.

When dawn broke, my wielder woke up and realized his sword is missing. He seems distraught, but he quickly gets ready to go the the military courtyard.

As he walks to the training grounds, I lay myself on the street on his way there. He sees me, and smiles. When he picks me up, I acknowledge him as my wielder. It seems that the system will not register him if I don't acknowledge him, a fact I suspected when the guard picked me up and he didn't count as my wielder.

I quickly open my stats to find out his name.

Alright Gerald! Let's become the strongest!

This chapter is quite a bit longer than the previous ones. Sorry if the quality started getting bad as it dragged on. If you have any suggestions for the story leave a comment. I could probably work it into the story if it’s a good suggestion.
