Barry is a regular guy. He is a simple man who aspires to be happy in life and die peacefully. Sadly, Barry didn’t even get to see what killed him. It seems that an otherworldly existence took interest in his soul. Barry was plucked out of the reincarnation cycle of his world and was forced to reincarnate in another world! “Hmm... it seems a system comes with the reincarnation, what a cliche” “What! I’m supposed to go to a fantasy world, not a cultivation one!” “IM A FREAKING SWORD!?!” Follow Barry as he struggles through his life a sentient sword and the conflict between two worlds.

War

There is an incredible tension in the air, Gerald tightens his grip around my handle. Currently, Gerald is marching with the others towards the frontlines.

This contingent of soldiers is made up of mortals, with the exception of the commander.

It seems in this world, the gap between cultivators and mortals is insurmountable.

I've seen many mortals, most of them being soldiers yet I've only seen two cultivators. Maybe the area I'm in is a backwater place, but I don't see any way to get a cultivation method for Gerald.

I can only hope that Gerald is the type of novel protagonist that gets the "Nine-Heavens Yin-Yang Demon Dragon Primordial Technique" passed down to him by a dying immortal.

The soldiers marching speed can't be said to be slow, but it's not really that fast. It's going to take them three days to reach the frontlines, so it's best that I train until then.

Actually, I want to try a concept I've been thinking about. I wait for Gerald to begin practicing his sword skills and use [Telekinesis] to emphasize and guide all of his moves.

This allows him to wield me with greater strength and precision. Similar to my ability to use [Spirit Manipulation] to dampen blows, this application of the skill doesn't generate another.

Though, now that I think about it I could probably use [Telekinesis] to dampen blows instead. Training this way alongside Gerald surprises him, but he knows better than to reveal his own secrets. Good wielder.

Also, this levels three different skills! [Spirit Manipulation], [Telekinesis], and [Basic Sword Techniques].

[Host has leveled up skill [Basic Sword Techniques] to Lv.5/10]

Neither [Spirit Manipulation] or [Telekinesis] leveled up, but it's probably because they are higher level already.

Even Gerald has gotten better at wielding me, partly because of his own training and partly because of my [Basic Sword Techniques] skill.

Today, Gerald and the rest of the troops arrived at a camp. It seems that this is where soldiers resupply to go back into battle. The soldiers take this last day to rest and get back into top shape.

While eating, Gerald is approached by another soldier. This soldier sits next to him and eats "Gerald, what do you think our chances of survival are? Ten percent? One? Maybe even none"

"Me and a few other soldiers are gonna escape tonight, you in?" Gerald refused, the expression on the soldiers face darkened. Since Gerald knows about their plan, he could rat them out.

"You better not rat us out, or else.." The soldier made the motion of slashing someone's throat. I personally think that soldier was an idiot, giving away their own plans to a stranger.

Plus, there is no way a measly soldier could take on Gerald and I. For safety, Gerald chooses a bunker that's close to the commanders quarters. In case of any attack he can run there for safety.

The night passes without much trouble, but when Gerald wakes up he is greeted by the site of multiple bodies. Each impaled on display, one of the bodies is the soldier that threatened Gerald yesterday. It seems that they failed in their plan to desert.

Gerald was already suited up, and began his final march towards the fight. He ran, picking up speed. He arrived at the battlefield, and it was chaos.

No organized formations, no defined trenches, it was just a bloodbath. Everyone looked like an ant as the swarmed into the fray, mindlessly swinging whatever was on hand.

The soldiers that had swords and some practice, Gerald included, killed the most. Cultivators where few and far between, but the ones that where present dominated the battlefield.

They are better equipped and have greater natural strength and resilience. This place really is backwater, their armies not even being supplied.

Gerald recklessly enters the fray, swinging and thrusting me into various enemies. The enemy here remind me more of farmers rather than soldiers.

For the first time in a while, my blade sinks into the flesh of another being. Drawing blood, I puncture the mans lung through a gap in his ribcage.

Gerald doesn't even bat an eye, he takes me out of the mans corpse and resumes battle. In the battlefield, there is a sense of despair.

[Host has entered area rich with foreign "Daos" [World Invader] trait activated. System has absorbed "Daos" of Blood, Death, Souls, and Slaughter]

["Daos" relevant to system have been absorbed. Unlocking [Exp] function]

[Host will now gain strength from killing.]

YES! I knew something was missing from my system! It just needs the right "Daos" to unlock its functions. I bet the Space "Dao" unlocks the inventory.

Let's see what changes that makes to my status.

[Effect of trait [Bloody Weapon] is affected by "Daos" of Blood and Slaughter. Evolving trait..]

[Trait [Bloody Weapon] has evolved into trait [Blood-Stained Slaughter Weapon]

That's.. a very long line of system notifications. I'm not sure if the effect of that trait is, but it's probably something useful.

I moved my attention outwards, I see Gerald still wielding me. He killed many without sustaining any serious injuries, though he is panting and tired.

It's dangerous for him to continue this tired, Gerald also seems to recognize this but he struggles to leave the battlefield. It's chaos, like a vortex it pulls everyone into the fight.

There is no escape for anyone, not even the cultivators. Here, right now will be a fight to the death between two armies.

Sorry this chapter took so long! Something about it just doesn’t feel right to me. I tried to fix it a bit, but let me know if the quality is bad.
