Prologue: A Rusted Sword

The wind blew scattering fallen leaves in the air. The yellow and orange of withered leaves decorated the forest, a sign of the coming winter. Near a river inside the forest sat a young man, a fishing rod in his hands.

He constantly sighed, "Not even a single fish?! What a bad day; Let's rest today, it's not my lucky day."

As he pulled his fishing rod ready to leave, he felt something as if something heavy was stuck to the hook of his fishing rod.

He felt excited and began pulling fiercely, "Finally a fish! I can eat the fish I hunted on my own and prove to that old man that my fishing skills are not useless."

He managed to take the thing out of the river, at last. only to find out that it was a rusted double-bladed sword.

His mood plummeted and he reluctantly began inspecting the sword. He felt a strange pressure being emitted from the sword thus he thought it was some sort of extraordinary treasure. He decided to take it back and let his friend inspect it to see if it was worth the money.

He stood up and packed up everything and began walking towards his house. His house was near a small town. He kept observing the sword on the way, his attention was not on the ground.

He tripped on a rock and fell to the ground. he had unconsciously tried to use the sword as some sort of stick to prevent his fall, Unfortunately, he had failed and one end of the sword pierced his heart, the other deeply rooted in the ground. The sword was double-bladed so his plan to use it to stop his fall failed miserably, costing his life.

He looked down at his chest and seeing the sword deep in his body, he gave up struggling. His eyes grew dark and his strength left him. The only thought on his mind was, 'Damn my stupidity!'

Darkness consumed his senses but he managed to faintly hear a dignified voice in his head.

"Congratulations! I, the greatest sword immortal of the universe, have chosen you as my successor! Your world inspired me to make this inheritance before I perished in secluded cultivation! Take this System and complete my Dao!"

He was surprised but before he could make conclusions, another voice echoed in his mind.

"Integration process completed.

Sword Immortal System will now help the host complete his Dao of Sword.

Transmigration and Healing process initiated."

A burning feeling engulfed his entire existence and suddenly he felt the urge to open his eyes. He felt his entire body being burnt and suddenly everything went ice-cold and he felt refreshed.

He slowly opened his eyes only to see that he was leaning on a wall in a very dirty and ancient-looking street, one that he expected to see in ancient china, looking down at his body he saw an athletic body with smooth skin barely covered with rags. His head was cloudy and dizzy, vertigo engulfed him. He dizzily stood up and checked his body unconsciously, his body was in perfect condition.

He shook his head and as the dizzy feeling gradually vanished; he noticed a barely noticeable small blue dot at the bottom-right of his vision. He focused on it and to his surprise, it expanded to become a full screen. He exclaimed in shock and viewed the screen with open jaws.

He used his hands to try to catch it but he failed as his hand went through it. He felt the situation was quite familiar as if he had read about it before... He took a step back and realized he was bare feet.

The feeling of his bare feet on the cold ground was very uncomfortable for him; He winced and sat down to explore the screen and read the writings on it. He wanted to make heads and tails out of the situation, his head was still cloudy and he was confused as to why he was there and the only clue was the screen in front of him.

The screen was rectangular and several options could be seen. (Check Paragraph Comment.)

He looked through them with interest. There were several items in the shop and all of them were swords of different types. He scrolled around by moving the star on the line and inspected the long list but Unfortunately, the prices were too much for him to buy anything so he decided to ignore those parts.

He focused on his Status:

[Name: Xuanyuan Wenhao / Ling Tian

Age: 19

Talent: Low-Earth

Experience points: 0

Cultivation stage: None

Dao Status: N/A]

"Judging by this, I seem to have Transmigrated in a Cultivation world of sorts with a System? wow... I did not expect this after such a stupid Death!"

He sighed in exasperation and closed the system by clicking on the red X, he had nothing to care about on earth either way so He decided to use the system and make something out of himself in this new life, he led a very lonely and pointless life on earth so he was slightly glad to have this chance.

"If I can't succeed with a cheat like this, I might as well commit suicide! I still can't believe this is happening..." he murmured and pinched his thigh, "Yep, it's not a dream..." and fell into deep thought thinking what his net course of action should be.

After several minutes of inner monologues and slight panic after his head became clear since he had realized the true severity of the situation and such, he finally calmed down thoroughly and mentally moved on to deal with his situation.

"No matter what, I must get stronger if this world is like anything I have read before on Cultivation Novels. The past is the past, I won't linger there; I have died once so I will aim big this time, What's there to lose?"

His thought process was interrupted by a sudden splitting Headache.

A flood of memories forcefully entered his brain...

He began to experience the life of the body's previous owner. It was very similar to watching a movie from the perspective of a character in the Movie. No emotions or feelings were attached. only information, sounds, and scenes observed by the owner in his life existed in those memories.

Once upon a time... A baby was born and his father, the Emperor, named him Xuanyuan Wenhao...
