1 The Strongest Player

One month.

That's how long it took for 1/5 of the people trapped in this game to die permanently.

I'm honestly a little bit surprised.

"Sure learning how to play is hard, but Boars only do one damage, surely you guys couldn't have let them hit you 250 times in the exact same way as before?" Kirito, the best Beta Tester to this game had mumbled to himself in disbelief, not realizing that there are other ways to die in this game.

Suicide is a possible one too, who actually knows if this MMO is unbeatable after all?

'Well, after Floor 100 comes the Fluctlight Floor, which contains 200 Floors and the first one was thousands of times as difficult. Honestly, I feel bad just thinking about the fact that Kayaba had cut Aincrad on 225 Floors early. Hopefully this time he remembers how I had stolen the candy of each Floor Boss and makes it slightly more difficult. Sadly I only had enough time to get to Floor 8 on the Fluctlight Floor, but that just means more adventure for me."

As his arrogant thought echoed in his head, Kirito finally arrived at the most important place currently.

That's right, The Boss Room!

"Strategy Meeting? What's that? Can I eat it?" He mocked teasingly as he heard others found the room and were planning on strategizing on how they could beat it.

Pushing the Boss Room open, he charged in immediately, The Blade of Hope in hand, a blade about 20 times as good as the Anneal Blade and was fit for the first Eight Floors at the very least, as he cut through Kobald Sentinels Like butter.

Illfang's attacks were easily dodged as he killed the sentinals with ease, and he started chipping at the Floor Bosses health with ease.

Having confirmed the weapon on his back as a Nodachi like the anime said, different from the Talwar he faced in the Beta and he cut its health to the red line.

Withdrawing his blade, Illfang used the three hit combo he used to kill Diavel in the original, only for Kirito to easily react and use a Thrust Sword Skill to go past the combo while doing multiplied damage.

Using Horizontal, Vertical, and Slant in succession as he dealt the last attack to Illfangs last health bar, Kirito sent it flying in the air, as it started to dissipate before shattering into shards of what it once was.

"Huh, this blade is really good. I'm glad I discovered the Overkill feature on Floor 100, this is even better than my equipment on Floor 85, and that is going to help for when Floor 50 Occurs and I get the Dual Wielding Skill again."

Equiping the blade, he fell in love as soon as he saw its appearance, not to mention the cloak on his back paired with it made him look even cooler.

He didn't dwell on it for long though.

Moving forward, Kirito pushed opened the doors and went down further.

[ Do you wish to publicize your victory worldwide?]

[ Y/N ]

Tapping the yes idly, Kirito didn't think much about it, only assuming it was for the families outside the Game and Inside the Game.

[ Write a message: ]

[ Message Written: R.I.P to the 2000 casualties.]

Messages would be weird, and it was not in his character to comfort people he didn't know. So instead he wrote nothing, he wouldn't want to be an enemy to people who could pull the plug on him after all.

Continuing to move forward, Kirito had no Idea the impact he had brought in game or in the outside world.

Suguha Kirigaya had been watching the television with a lack luster attitude, having been in a state of confusion and uncertainty as she tried to hold on after the news her brother was trapped in a game.

It had been a month, and there was no information about anyone as she continued to move forward.

Until today.

The channel was one specifically for those who wanted to know about Sword Art Online residents and how they were doing.

And it was the first time a video had been played.

"Hello everyone. My name is Akihiko Kayaba, creator of the Nervegear and Sword Art Online. I've come with the pleasant information that the First Floor Boss has been defeated. From the beginning of the entry, to the present time, all scenes will be played for the current battle."

It seemed to be a recorded message, as the video was set to play right afterwards, where only one boy had stood.

"Boss Strategy Meeting? Whats that? Can I eat it?" The voice of her brother's mocking attitude echoed in her ears and a light appeared in her eyes.

"Kazu-nii." She mumbled happily.

"Those nerds, haven't they realized that the game was destined to have slight changes the moment It was released? I'm not going to fight with people who expect to defeat the game based off of previous knowledge, it's too hopeful." He scolded right after before pushing the door forward.

"Hmm, everything looks the same, but it's always the ending that shocks you isn't it?" He looked around before moving forward.

"12 sentinels, 1 Boss. Sentinels first, their added damage is way too annoying." He chose to target the multiple numbers first, and easily slashed through them before looking at the Kobold Lord who kept chasing towards him.

"Now that you're left, I have to scratch at you for a bit." After he took the first health bar, he retreated immediately and targeted the Kobolds that just spawned, before repeating that until his health bar went red.

"You should've had a Talwar, but thanks to running around, I saw you have a Nodachi, so is your attack pattern similar to Floor 8? Or is it higher?" He said just as it threw its weapon in the air, before jumping around the pillars and unleashing a sword skill.

"Floor 8." And so he continued attacking the boss, and the video cut out immediately as it died.

"Ahem! Honestly, I'm surprised that I saw such a scene. I never expected this guy to be so good, to even solo this boss before anyone could officially come out with plans to defeat it. However, on that note, he had wrote a message for everyone!"

The screen then showed a blue screen that said "Message Written: R.I.P to the 2000 casualties."

Suguha didn't care about any other part, other than the fight with the boss.

In that fight, he cut in a way only she could recognize.

"It's our language, built by the strikes and formed into a language we created by the amount of strikes in an attack and how they are attacked." Tears fell down her face as she realized he was talking to her even in the game.

"I'll be waiting, Kazu-nii." She tried to smile at his face on the screen, from where she rewinded and paused at his face.

It came out more as a sobbing chuckle though.

"Be safe… asshole."

What Kirito had said to get such a reaction from her?

"I still owe you that spanking, idiot."

Honestly, he was the best big brother ever. Finding a way to comfort his sibling with a threat and insult st the same time.

Kirito was talented like that.

It is also why he was The Strongest Player in her eyes.

Hey guys! Author-chan here, to those from my other work (Unlikely), I have not dropped It.

I repeat, I have not dropped 'Is It Wrong To Be A Gojo In The Dungeon?'.

Now that I've said that, I am making this Fanfic for no other reason than to have fun.

That is why I write, because it is fun.

Now for some explaining about the concept behind this fic.

Sword Art Online, in general seemed to have an extremely good premise, you die in the game you die in real life and all that. But some things seemed too slow, and some things seemed too fast. I wanted to try my own hand at this trope, with some different game functions.

One of them was already revealed.

Overkill Bonus?! What the hell is that?

To answer your beautifully timed question, the Overkill bonus is what happens when you deal more damage than the bosses health but the damage has to be at least a base value 1500 damage more than it's health.

How that can happen?

Well for one, having the best gear in your stage, and killing the boss with a multi-hit sword skill.

Second is mobs inside the Boss Room is counted, so if you say, kill over 18 Kobolds you most definitely can acquire that bonus.

Third is just having a high enough level.

Kirito had the last two down pat, and that got him the Overkill Bonus, because he dealt at least 1500 damage or higher.

Now for the item being a sword? Being cliche and sticking with the Elucidator+Dark Repulser is not my style.

This was just my way of getting that out there early.

If you've gotten this far down the chapter, then I will post the Images of his weapon in the comments. Specifically this paragraph, the one where it's name is revealed, the one where it's stats are located, and the last paragraph and regular comment area. Just to make sure you can see it. I don't own the image sadly, but I found it on google, and it comes from pintrist so there's that.

Now to Kirito's stats:
