4 The system arrives

3 years later***

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Kaen, happy birthday to you!" My family members finished singing the birthday song as they clapped excitedly. I was also extremely excited, not because it was my birthday but because I was finally 6. Finally! I waited for 6 whole years before i could touch a basketball again.

"Thanks mom, thanks dad, this is the best birthday party ever!" I said as I turned my body to face my parents.

"No problem Kean, I wanted to plan a bigger birthday party for you but you refused. My baby boy is finally 6!" My mother said happily while hugging me. My father just stood behind her but I could see a huge smile on his face.

"Kaen, do you want your birthday present? Why don't you try to guess what it is?" Said my father, taking out a box from behind him.

"Of course! Give it to me!"I reached out and grabbed the box from my father quickly, causing him to chuckle.

"You need to learn to be patient you know, it belongs to you now, its not going to run away."My father say while laughing.

I didn't really grab it to guess what was inside as I already knew. I had asked my parents repeatedly for a basketball as a birthday present so I'm pretty sure that's what they had gotten me. Well, since most of my memories with my friends and family were erased from my past life, I guess my emotional maturity was still around the same as a 6 year old. You could just say that I was a 6 year old with a very very high IQ.

I tore open the wrapper and looked at the box. There it is! A Spalding basketball! I caressed the the basketball, feeling the smooth leather move across my finger tips. Wow, I really miss you my basketball. I positioned my hands in a shooting motion and felt the basketball fit perfectly around my hands, my fingers sliding into its grooves. I released the ball, tossing it upwards. I watched the ball rotate the groves turning slowly, up then down right back into my hands. I jumped around energetically and knew one thing. I'M BACK!

That night, I lay down in bed thinking of going to the court the next day. I need first work on my shooting. I haven't touched a basketball for the past 6 years so I would be VERY rusty. I hope I still have the muscle memory of my old shooting form, learning how to shoot again would be very tedious.

Suddenly a screen appeared in front of me. It was blue in color and look just like a stat sheet of a video game. Is this the system I asked for? I wondered. Suddenly words started appearing on it.

[system loading.....]

[system generated, would host like to bind to the system]

Yes! I said in my mind. I wanted to test if this system could read my thoughts.

[system will now comply with hosts orders, binding....]

It worked!

My height should be pretty good as my parents are on the taller side. My father is around 1.9 and my mother is around 1.78 meters tall. But.... WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE REST OF MY STATS. What kind of trash is this, did any of my basketball skills from my previous life not carry over. Why is everything so low!!

"What the hell man! Screw you god, what kind of crap system did you give me!" I shouted out loud into my pillow.

Okay that's it. Tomorrow first thing in the morning I'm heading to the court and its time for the grind.
