Chapter 36: Trivia
Andrew smiled. He should have known that Ivy would be good at the game she suggested. He couldn’t help but hope he would win the next round; he had questions he wanted to ask Ivy.
“Since I won, I can ask a question. What do you have against love?” The question caught Andrew by surprise. He had made it clear to Ivy how he wouldn’t put himself in a position where anyone could hurt him.
“In my family, we never threw that word around. My parents’ marriage was not a result of love but an arrangement. I see how they are still happy, and I feel maybe it is because there is no love thrown in the mix to complicate things that they lasted this long!” Andrew answered.
“Are you insinuating that love complicates things?” Ivy asked.
“Yes! Love is just a disease, and prevention of it is better than a cure,” Andrew said as his features darkened.
“Who hurt you, Andrew?” Ivy asked. Andrew blinked as he pretended to focus on gathering the playing cards for the next round.
