12 Chapter 12; Zhan Shan, he must marry you...

She kept quiet as she whimpered, Mu Rong glanced at the phone that was vibrating nonstop.

He dialed Mr. Tong's number as he was the one in charge of the Public Relations Department and he had to contact him if he need to solve this problem.

After two rings, the phone call was received and a man's low voice spoke out, "Good evening Mu Rong... What can I do for you?"

Mu Rong could hear the sounds of booming loud music at the end of the phone call, he could discern that he was in a Clubhouse.

"I need your assistance urgently.." Mu Rong anxiously responded as he stood up pacing around restlessly.

"I'm sorry Mr. Mu Rong, these aren't working hours, let's talk about it again tomorrow." He responded before he immediately hung up.

"Mr. Tong..?" He called his name but he could only hear the disconnecting ring.

He pulled the phone away and glanced at the dark screen, he now didn't know what to do, without his Uncle's intervention, he won't be able to mobilize the Mu family resources, he tightened his grip on the phone and sat down on the couch.

Inside the Mu Mansion, Zhou Meili sat up nervously as she glanced at the entire bedroom, it felt chilling and lacked warmth.

"Will I stay in another cold marriage?" She mumbled as her eyes watered, she didn't know what to do.

She was standing up when she suddenly heard a knock at the door, she sat back down and wiped her tears.

"Come in." Her nasal voice sounded as she gripped the covers tightly.

The maid pushed the doorknob and opened the door, she walked inside and served her dinner, without saying anything the maid walked out leaving the food there.

Zhou Meili could see how her face and eyes glimpsed at her with disgust and contempt.

She stood up and walked into the washroom to clean her hands and face, she glanced at the mirror that stood tall in front of her.

Not only was she tiny and looking like an undernourished kid, but her body was also just looking like a sixteen-year-old teenager.

Her hair was long but not nicely shaped but rather looked dry and the hair's ends had split up, she roughly tugged it feeling down.

Her skin looked paler than any more one, it was like a sick person and only her big eyes protruded.

She splashed water onto her face several times trying to calm herself down, she now understood why the maid gave her a disgusting look.

"Zhou Meili... Zhou Meili.. do you think you are a princess worth anything? You are a lowly village girl.. " she mumbled as she tried to console herself.

She had wanted to return to the village, but she didn't have a home, and her father's family, they loathed her and termed her as a curse to their brother and son, if she asked for help from them, they might end up selling her as they had previously tried several times but her father rescued her all the times.

Did this cold marriage scare her? No.. at least she had shelter and a roof above her head, she could also eat healthy food, and she didn't have to worry about being sold any time.

She cleaned her face and walked back into the bedroom before sitting down on the couch and began eating.

The food was cold and she didn't even give her a spoon or knife, she didn't mind but rather dug in with her hands and ate to her heart's content, tomorrow when it comes she will think of something.

"What if I can find work?" She mumbled while eating but then remembered she didn't finish high school, when her father got seriously sick, no family wanted to render them any help even financially, she dropped out of school and worked in a small restaurant so that she can earn some money and cater for her father's medical bills but still he died...

She ate while tears streamed down her cheeks, her father was the strongest pillar that shielded her from true-life cruelty. Now she was all alone and in another marriage.

"Father, don't worry... I will live a good life, work hard, and I won't be sad in any way." She vowed to herself and felt that she was lucky even though the marriage was a cold one.

In the Lake View Villa, Mu Rong had tried contacting people but it was futile as everyone snubbed him.

He sat down on the couch flinching uncomfortably, he was going to make another call when they suddenly heard loud yells coming from outside.

He scurried to the balcony, opened the door and curtains, glanced down to the entrance gate, and saw a huge group of people carrying fan signs.

"Mu Rong must marry our Princess..."

"Mu Rong must be accountable... stone the building.." the angry fans began stoning walls, since it was a brick wall and fenced with electric wires, they were safe in the house.

"Zhan Shan, he must marry you..." The fans who were supporting Zhan Shan threw ugly shades on Mu Rong while they continued streaming in.

Mu Shen and Mu Zhu finally arrived at the airport and took the normal entrance door and checked in.

It was still ten pm into the night and they had an hour before they could board.

Mu Shen sat down in the VIP lounge whereby his shadow guards stayed hidden keeping watch for safety.
