2 Chapter 02; Where to Miss?

" Mnnh... " Zhou Meili just hummed while she kept her head bowed, she picked the clothes that she came into the marriage with, she didn't have much, and sooner she was done packing.

She stood up and straightened her back, "Where are the divorce papers?" Her eyes were empty and distant, they were void and nothing else.

She understood the man had his preferences and her existence was inconvenient in his life, he never took her as a wife nor as a woman.

She didn't want to stay or waste a single minute in that Villa, it was too suffocating.

"They are here..." He walked over to the table and pulled out the drawer before getting the divorce papers and passing them to her.

She received the papers and lightly perused through them seeing what they contained, they were already drafted six months ago.

"You had never thought of seeing me as your wife since the first day, it was my wishful thinking!" She mumbled as she felt it was stupid of her to believe a man of high status like him would love a poor girl like her with no background and status.

Cinderella love stories only existed in the dramas but not in real life, this top families were always after benefits and maximizing their marriage interconnections. She had nothing to offer.

"I had to listen to grandpa and do whatever he asked of me so that I can get my shares, but now he is no more and this is the woman I love, and also she is expecting my child, I don't think we need to continue staying like this, let's set each other free." He didn't hide anything, he just told her the pure truth

Her eyes watered but she held in and couldn't let them see her being weak and pathetic, she bent down and immediately signed the papers before passing them to him.

"Goodbye." She picked up her suitcase before dashing out of the house. It wasn't heavy.

"Zhou Meili, wait, you can leave tomorrow, it's already too dark right now." His loud voice boomed but Zhou Meili didn't halt, her speed accelerated as she dashed down to the streets.

He chased after her but Zhan Shan also tagged behind him hurriedly and held his hand stopping him, "you don't need to chase after her, she will return once she has nowhere to go."

"Okay.." he sighed before returning to their bedroom, they were tired from the long flight journey, and they needed some rest.

Standing across the road, she glanced back at the Villa before turning her face away, she saw a small taxi car driving towards her way, she lifted her hand waving, and stopped it.

The car driver slowed down and safely parked the car along the road, the taxi driver got off the car and packed her suitcase inside the boot, "Miss where are you headed to at this time of the night?" He inquired worriedly, it wasn't safe for a young girl to be walking around at this time of the hour.

He returned and sat down back in the driver's seat while Zhou Meili went into the back seat and settled down before buckling her safety belt.

"Where to miss?" He inquired worriedly while glancing at her from the front mirror in the car, he was very concerned about her safety. He was a parent and couldn't help but poke in. He drove back to the highway.

"I want to go to Westland Clubhouse.." she responded calmly while her voice was stiff and scratchy trying to hide the despair and unrest her heart was going through.

"Miss.. why do you want to go there at this hour? How old are you? " He stepped on the breaks abruptly coming to a halt and turned around to face the little girl who seemed to be underage.

" I just turned nineteen years old, so I'm basically not underage. " She didn't want anyone to know the kind of troubles were deeper inside her heart, she wanted to have some space where she would be able to let out her frustrations.

She came from the Hanyu Village where she had lived with her father until his demise when he succumbed to death due to cancer.

Her father had saved old Master Mu and the old man promised to fulfill his one wish and which was to get one of his grandsons to marry her daughter, he just wanted to secure her future and thus her marriage with Mu Rong was set.

She didn't have a home to return to as she had sold the small piece of land to treat her father, and her mother, she was still alive and kicking but she had deserted them due to poverty.

Her father raised her all by himself, she has never seen her mother apart from the pictures her father had taken while they were courting.

"I just want to unwind my mind." She glanced at him and warmly smiled, she appreciated that he was worried for her.

She just didn't have anywhere to go but today she wanted to have some alcohol and enjoy the night when the sun rises then she will think of what to do next.

She didn't know much about the Club but she had heard about it on television and seen it on online platforms.

"All right Miss.. just be careful." He stepped on the gas and accelerated through the highway, he took turns around two corners before they arrived.
