8 Engagement

Red POV.

When I woke up, I had a headache and was in a room I didn't know.

"Dang it! What happened the previous night? Did I drink too much? "I'm mad at myself because I can't remember anything.

I don't remember much about the night before. After stopping and stopping the visitor, there is nothing else to see.

As I got out of bed, I thought, "If I'm still alive, maybe Uncle Marco wasn't mad about what happened." I was hoping that was true.

"Well, my dear, good morning!" said the waiter.

How did she come to be here? Why didn't I notice when the door opened? I asked while looking at Catherine with eyes full of surprise.

On the other hand, a vampire acting this way shouldn't be a surprise.

Catherine and her family might not have known how to knock on doors.

Morris, the butler, might be the only person in this castle who can give me a place to be alone.

Catherine came to me with a huge smile and said, "What you did last night was amazing."

In response, I say, "I'm sorry, Lady Catherine, but I don't remember much about the last time we met," I say this with worry.

Now that that's over, how about we talk about it over a meal? Catherine says, "I know very well that you are hungry right now." Both of my arms are pulled by her.

I let myself get comfortable when I saw that Catherine would always love me. Also, could you tell me what happened in this room? Is that what I just did?

Catherine looked in the part of the room where I was looking. You don't have to worry about the bus... "You didn't do anything to cause the damage," She grabs my arm in response and leads me into the coat room.

I couldn't help but admire the clothes in front of me because they were so pretty. It was a long way from where my clothes were kept.

When Catherine says, "You can choose what you want to wear," it makes me smile.

"Really? Can I choose what to put on my body? I could only wait so long before I gave in and touched the clothes.

I can't help but be amazed that the whole closet is the same size as my room.

"Your family and my family..." My house and land belong to both of us. Catherine said something to herself as she kept looking at me.

Catherine let me relax in the tub after she helped me choose some new clothes.

"Where do we even begin? "Do I see blood here?" I asked the question as I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror. Blood has dried on my neck and in the crease of my lips.

"No! Last night, I didn't kill anyone. I yelled and rubbed my body in the direction the water was going.

I had a sudden picture in my mind of a well-known person. It was like a scene from a movie.

(You smell so good...) Oh my god! Why do I keep having this picture come to mind? Have I just said that?

"Who the heck is that guy?" I mumbled something as I tried to figure out who the man was from the night before.

Even after I took a bath, I couldn't quite remember the face of the man whose cologne smelled so good.

—-

I looked at the food in front of me, then turned to Catherine, who only had a glass of blood.

"Last night around the same time, there was a man with a pleasant smell—"

Catherine's smile got less and less as she kept looking at me. "Are you talking about Lucas?" She talks back.

"Lucas? Is that what he calls himself? I asked. I was so ashamed that I couldn't look at Catherine, so I looked at the food in front of me instead.

"No matter what, do you know anything about Morris?" Catherine didn't want to keep talking about Lucas, so she moved on to something else.

"Mr. Morris? He may be hiding on the other side of the castle. Do you remember that neither of us is allowed to go into this part of the castle? I started to chew the food in my mouth as a response.

Please don't hold it against me... Don't forget you're human; everyone else here is a vampire. Catherine told him as she stirred the hot blood in his glass, "This is the only thing that matters to my father." He listened carefully.

I gave Catherine a warm smile when she came in. "I remember the time I spent in the castle dungeons with fondness. "You don't need to worry because I didn't mean to make people hate my father's family." She said this was true.

It's good to hear that you understand. "Since you are now old enough to take care of yourself, we have decided that you will still live with us." Katherine poured the blood into her glass and said, "My wedding is coming up, and I wanted you to be my maid of honor since you are my only cousin." Katherine put the blood in her glass, and then she went on.

Since I was a child, I've always thought my father's family didn't like me... I was surprised that people still cared about me after so long.

"Thank you so much, Catherine. I know for sure that I'm not alone anymore." My eyes filled with tears immediately, which I took as a good sign of happiness.

——

Catherine kept being nice to me even after some time had passed.

It no longer matters that Lord Marco and Victoria haven't solved their problems. The only thing that worries me is that I found Catherine a friend and a family in her place.

———-

"You look like a queen! "

You're so glamorous. "As I looked at Catherine with awe and admiration in my heart, I noticed that my eyes were shining.

Even though the whole palace was busy getting ready for Catherine's engagement party for several days, everything went well for me in the days that followed.

Catherine looks at me from head to toe and says, "Red, you're beautiful, too."

"It's all because of you," I shyly said as I looked in the mirror. Catherine chose the black mermaid-cut off-the-shoulder dress I wore, and she was the one who helped me pick it out. The beads scattered all over the dress make it look like it is shimmering. Also, my body's natural curves are brought out because it has a mermaid cut.

"Oh, my sweet red..." You already had the dress, so all I did was give it to you and tell my artist to help you with your hair and makeup. You have all of the beauty... "It's in our genes," Catherine replies as she stands up.

She is wearing a red dress with a slit down to her thigh. The description says that you can see almost half of Catherine's breast. Because she wanted to show off her perfect body, this was an ideal time.

(Same genes? Mr. Morris probably hasn't told me that I look just like my mother and that the only thing I got from my dad was my red eyes.

I only thought about it; I never said anything out loud about it. Instead, as we left the room, I gave Catherine a big smile and a big hug.

"I can't wait to learn more about the man you're going to marry..." When I look at Catherine, my eyes feel like they are going to tingle. Until now, she hasn't told me the name of the man who won her heart.

When we heard Lady Victoria's voice, who was now coming toward us, Catherine had just begun to answer.

Catherine, my dear, your beauty never stops surprising me. I don't think anyone who sees you won't be envious." She said something while Lady Victoria was holding Catherine close.

I was about to talk to Catherine when Lady Victoria gently pushed her, which made me back away. After that, the two of them left me behind and walked away.

"Now we're on our own again." I scowled and sighed as I smiled in a mean way. I walked around the hall by myself after going in by myself. Now, I'm thinking again about Mr. Morris, who still hasn't returned.

"You've grown up and become a sophisticated young lady, so you'll be fine even if I'm not there." Mr. Morris gave me this word to remember him by on the night I turned 18:

I decided to take a quick walk around the front porch before going inside. I was interested in meeting Catherine's future husband, but I dared to do so. Since Catherine and I aren't there, I feel like everyone will be looking at me.

"Red, don't worry about being the only person involved in this activity." You're a Demitri, which means you're Valir's daughter! I had to remember, so I took a deep breath and did it.

"And you think being the daughter of the most powerful vampire in the world will keep you safe from his kind?

You are brainless.

I quickly turned my attention to the place where the voice came from. "Who the heck are you?!" I asked while craning my neck to see the man behind the wall, who seemed to be hiding. The moon is the only light source in the area, but clouds hide it. No other lights are on in the room.

"Hm, don't tell me you can't remember the man who saved you..." In his answer, he talked in a funny way.

The thin skin on my face was wrinkled because I was thinking hard. I can only think of Mr. Morris when I think of anyone else.

I'm sorry, sir, but I don't know who you are. Maybe you have mistaken me for someone else, "I turned around and left after giving my answer.

I don't want to talk to anyone, and strangers are the last people I want to talk to.

I have to be careful because the world I'm leaving behind is full of dangers...

At least, that is what Mr. Morris told me.

"A man with a pleasant smell... do you remember what you said to me in a whisper?" The person who was hiding stood up straight and moved forward.

I almost stopped breathing while waiting for the light to hit the man's face. I don't know, but I've seen that man somewhere before. His low, icy voice and musky smell make me feel something I can't put my finger on.

The man said, "It's great to have you back, Red Dimitri."

I put my hands over my mouth and nose so I wouldn't faint from the shock. "It's you," I said. "You're the guy that night," I yelled, and my eyes kept getting bigger.
