13 Little Tricks

"He's not picking up."

"Call him again."

"He's probably busy." Leira said dismissively. At the back of her mind, she wonders if he had still be mad at her.

Why did he become so cold that day?

"For god sake! You are his girlfriend, you have rights to bother him!" Chae sighed exasperatedly.

"Thats annoying actually. I wouldn't like it either if he called me while I'm busy."

"And thats Leira for you." Hwiyun chuckled.

They were walking to their car after having a little not so but kind of long talk with the headman of the village.

"That aside, I'm impressed that Lei noticed." Dohyon started when he unlocked the door. The four of them hopped in and he didn't waste a second on getting out of the place.

"I heard about a village that lure people in for money but I didn't expect that it would be this one." Leira rubbed her temple.

"Talk about coincidence." Hwiyun sighed.

"But how about what he said about palm reading though? You think he's lying about that?" Chae asked questioningly.

"Well he did mentioned Seunwo's name so I guess that part is true...I think." Leira trailed off..

"Then call him!" Chae pulled her hair and that made Dohyon joined in the hair pulling.

"I feel like my headache is levitating with you guys pulling my hair."

Hwiyun laughed and swatted their hands away from the girl's hair.

"Just drive Dohyon. I want to come back home in one piece."

Upon arriving at their hotel, Leira finish up her report and successfully send it to her lecturer.

Chae and Hwiyoung had went to the pool to enjoy their days left in Indonesia while Dohyon and Leira decides to stay in and rest.

"Have you called him yet?" The male said as he crashed in her room. Leira shook her head slowly and closed her laptop.

"I'm sure he's done with his shift. Call him. Its eating you alive, kid."

"No its not. I'm pretty chill." Leira said smugly, putting her nose high.

Dohyon pinched her nose making her wince.

"Ow ow ow."

"Is this plastic?" He asked flatly, looking down at her. Leira chuckled and pushed his hand away from her nose.

"That would be disgraceful to my dignity-"

"So why are you acting fake?" Dohyon cut her off.

Leira gasped and acted like she was offended.  He shook his head unamused and took her phone.

"Thats my phone."

"Duh."

She raised her eyebrows at him suspiciously. He ignored his friend and continue finding the contact.

"Jeez, woman. Why don't you put his number in favorite list?" Dohyon sighed when he finally found the contact number.

"I rarely call him." Leira shrugged and acted on reflex when she saw her phone flying to her.

"Tell him I said Hi." He said and went out of her room. Leira shook her head amused and look to her phone.

It rings for a few second and the call was answered.

"Hey-"

"Seunwo, here let me help you."

"No its fine-"

Leira tilted her head confused as she looked back to her phone.

Dohyon dialed Seunwo's number right?

"You need to rest. You're a patient here. Its my duty to help you."

"He's sick?" Leira thought to herself and put he phone on speaker. She jogged to Dohyon and head butted him.

"Watch it-"

"Listen. I'm in the middle of a....something here." Leira said hurriedly.

"What?"

"Elaine, its fine. I'm just tired."

The male raised his eyebrows and look at Leira weirdly.  She just made an 'i know right' face.

"Oh, you hair grew long. I cant even see your eyes anymore. See? If you push your hair like this-"

Leira ended the call. Dohyon narrowed his eyes at her.

"What are you thinking, child?" He asked as he smirked.

"I'm going back."

The door opened and revealed the other two.

"Who's going back? We still have two days left." Hwiyun asked while drying his hair with a towel.

"If you're going back, we all will." Chae said and went into the bathroom.

"No you guys can stay-"

"Flight is at 3 am so lets start packing."

"Damn hyung. You're fast." Hwiyun laughed.

"Technology." Dohyon shrugged while the latter looked at him dubiously.

"Haha I don't think so."

Leira snorted at the two and went to her room. Hwiyun turned back to the other male.

"Why are we going back early?"

"Lei is pissed off someone touched the hair."

"THE hair?"

"Exactly my friend."

"What are you doing?" Seunwo held back her hand.

"I was just pushing your hair back.."

Seunwo sighed and let go of Elaine's hand while she made her usual hurt face.

That most men fall for.

"Thank you for...worrying, Elaine but I just need sleep right now."

"Oh I can-"

"Elaine, you have other things to do."

"Alright, fine." Elaine pouted and nodded anyways.

She went out of the room and closed the door before leaning back to it. Taking out the phone in her lab coat, she smirked.

"Isn't that his phone?"

Elaine flinched and nearly dropped the phone when Kai's voice boomed.

"Its- its-"

"Give it to me." Kai took the phone forcefully from her. Elaine frowned.

"Do you think this is a joke or something? Taking his phone won't make him yours."

"Doing nothing won't make her yours either." Elaine said gaining confidence.

"Move." He said coldly.

She glared at him briefly and moved away from the door. Kai stepped inside and closed the door to her face.

"Good job Elaine." She smirks to herself.

"Lei know you're on a hospital bed instead of being a doctor yet?" Kai asked while munching on a snack.

"No. I don't want to bother her."

"You suck."

"Kai, what are you even doing here?" Seunwo chuckled.

"Annoy the heck outta you."

Eventhough he likes the doctor's girlfriend, he can't deny that he genuinely care for his friend well being.

"Go hang with Taejin or something." He shooed Kai and closed his eyes.

Kai snorted.

"Mr kpop star is back to being a kpop star,  dude."

"Thank god."

"Oh right, here. " Kai said handing back the phone. Seunwo hummed.

"Thanks. Where did you found it?" He asked. Kai just shrugged.

"That you don't have to know."

"Sorry for asking." Seunwo laughed lightly and checked his phone.

He noticed the missed call. Calling her back, he waited for it to ring but it goes straight to the voicemail.

"And now Seunwo is in confusion." Kai snickered as he was watching the male as his entertainment.

"Aaaaaand he's back to sleep." Kai continue narrating his action.

"Go to work Kai. Lunch time is over."

"I'm just curious." Kai started when he stood up from the sofa. 

"How are you still nice to me while knowing that I want to take your girlfriend?" He asked making Seunwo opened his eyes and looked at him squarely.

"Because we're friends, Kai."

"So you wouldn't mind if I did succeed taking Leira from you?" Kai cocked up his eyebrow.

"Like I said, try me."
