The story is nice, and the sci-fi flavor does much to bring originality to wuxia. The problem is Qidan, as usual their money focused politics ruins everything. Months of waiting time for new chapters and when they do pop up, it's at a snail pace AND costing money! Makes you wish the novel remained with TRANSLATION NATIONS instead...
The longer you read the more irritating of a vibe you get from it, the inconceivable convenient plot armors, the whole chinese nationalist mentality that's lowkey kinda propaganda, I mean is it just me who is getting this subliminal message that chinese people are better than everyone, and this for me kills my immersion into novel, at the end I just dropped it.
Well. I believed in them after the translator changed. But they just pulled a scum move on us and blamed it on the writer. Saying that since he repeated a chapter they should too. Mind you this is premium content on this website. I'm thoroughly disapointed with everyone in charge of that decision. If the writer jumped of a bridge while writing the 1000th chapter would you follow suit? It's an absolute lack of respect to ask for money for something you have sold us 1 day before and cost you no time/effort to resell. Either send it as free or don't send it at all.
This Novel has totally gone to s h i t after 900 chapters. the New translator and his editor are literally ignoring every effort the readers make to assist them in correcting terms and references and anything else related to the story. the flow is off, names of places people and things that have existed for 900 + chapters have been changed. there are no footnotes, no improvements nothing sadly, i will have to drop this novel. its too horrible at this point bto continue.
The book probably deserves 2.5-3 stars. But would you look at that? Inconsistent plot ✅ Extreme 'Huaxia' Nationalism ✅ Stupid '❗' randomly popping up ✅ Dumber/Bot reviews ✅ Btw, how did author think that now's the world's teethering on extinction, now's a really good time to show my patriotism? like a dragonisque being was rampaging, and MC comes and asks, "How many from China have died or injured?”. not even kidding. (chapter 245.) later on he literally owns the planet earth. As I am writing this though, it sounds like Chinese wet dream come true. fun fact: author writes Hongkong was merged back in 1997.
The novel itself is great, lots of interesting settings and some cool characters as well as a well build cultivation system. The problem with this novel is the new translator. The old one was amazing, always letting us know what was happening, fixing any mistakes and keeping all the words consistent, unfortunately he was fired because he wouldn't take down the chapters on his Patreon. The new on is utter garbage. They don't tell the readers anything, the old terms that the old translator was using and that everyone liked were completely thrown out the window in favour of MTL crap that make no sense and have now changed multiple times but the old ones STILL have not been fixed. To finally top it off, they miss chapters, post in the wrong order (and when they do give us the proper one they post it in place of the second one and expect us to score all the way past the other one to read them in order) and then they have the gall to charge us 10+ SS on average per chapter and act like nothing is wrong. This translator sucks, the editor is an idiot for letting the term changes go through and neither of them care enough about the readership or the novel to actually double check their posts or even look in the damn comments for all the people telling them what they should be changing!
Blocked my last review as i called them out for dupe chapter and making it go premium randomly and making it cost to read from now on, no regular chapters are being put up for people who dont want to pay and it seems it wont ever be getting free chapters again, sad to see this good novel ruined but thats what happens when you think money is more important then good fanbase/community.
