A Bad Ending?

They always say that God has a plan for you.

Believe in fate.

These are just the bad days; the good days will come...

Good days? What good days? For 15 years... for 15 fucking years, I lived in that shithole.

The life I have now... isn't given by some fucking God. It's something I achieved on my own.

You don't have the right to say it's given by God.

Ah, fuck... I don't give a damn now... but why is it that I have this bad ending? Is it because I am a gangster?

Is it because I sold drugs?

Is it because I beat up people for money? Because I killed people for money?

A whirlwind of questions erupted in my head.

"Wahhh..! Hicc* hicc* R-Ron* don't die!! Hiccc* wahhh! Someone!! Help us! God! Please help us!! Hicccc* wahh!"

I could feel the cold ground beneath me. And the pain in my abdomen.

'Ah... so annoying...'

With great difficulty, I looked at the source of the cries.

I looked at the source of this annoying yet somehow calming presence, even in this moment when I could feel the doors of hell opening.

But... will there be chocolates in hell?

I reached out my slowly freezing hand to the little annoying source of the voice.

The little girl, whose parents I had killed... although I feel regret, it was something that had to be done... for me, but also for her.

"Suzie..." I called out slowly, as my hands caressed her head and cheeks, wet from her red, teary eyes.

Feeling I could call out to her, she quickly grabbed my hand and crawled up to my face, still crying and shouting...

Damn... let me speak...

"Suzie... listen carefully." Although it was just a weak voice, she reacted and tried to calm down her erupting emotions...

"I... killed your parents..." I said calmly.

I had planned to tell her this when she was old enough to protect herself from this godless, cruel, damned world... when she would be able to leave me on her own... but there is no choice now... I had to go through plan B.

Opening my closed eyes, I saw tears rolling down. "I know... I KNOW!!! But I don't need them, I need you! Wahhh! Don't go!" Crying that out, she suddenly hugged me.

I was shocked. This was not the response I was expecting. I didn't know she knew.

"From when?"

"From the start... hicc!*"

My emotions erupted, but I calmed down.

"Alright then—listen here carefully." With the strength I could muster, I pulled her back and faced her with seriousness. I took out the ring from my finger and handed it to her.

"This is my inheritance to you... although this is not something with which I expect you to forgive me... and i am not asking for forgiveness... but please don't resent me." I said with a soft, weak smile...

As she looked at her hand that held the black ring with gold carvings, her eyes turned hollow as if she lost hope.

As if she knew I had given up on life.

"A-are you really going to leave me...?"

"I can't be saved... I'm barely holding on..."

Hearing that, she tried to calm down and hold back her tears.

Ah... She grew up so mature... Is this what a father feels...?

VROOOOOM!!! SCREEECH!!!!!

Suddenly, a black Lamborghini Huracan came into view, having seemed to bump a few times, as it stopped a few meters away. A young man who seemed to be in his early 20s came running.

"HYUUUNG-NIMMM!!!" The man ran, horrified when he looked at the stab wounds and the rod protruding from his Hyung's Abdomen in a weird angle.

His gazed around the surrounding and all he could see were corpses. Some headless, some missing limbs, while organs and body parts scattered around.

The construction side was turned into a worn down battlefield.

This guy was Ye-Joon, someone Ron had taken under his wing and someone who was the most loyal and talented in the gang.

It could be enough to say that both Suzie and Ye-Joon were someone Ron had given his all to raise.

"Brat, how many times have I told you not to call me tha- cough! cough!" Ron coughed blood as he scolded Ye-Joon.

But Ye-Joon, didn't hear him. this was unbearable! unforgivable! Fury seethed from him as his eyes burned with hatred, as he looked at the blood seeping from his hyung-nim's wounds.

"Ah... I will overlook it just this once, you calling me that weird thing..."

Hearing him, Ye-Joon didn't respond, but had his head lowered, and Ron could see tears seeping down and the fierce anger on his face.

Although Ye-Joon wanted to save him, the rod protruding was a nail in the coffin. Too much time had passed. The moment the rod would be removed, Ron would only have a few seconds.

Ron moved his gaze to the young girl, who was silently sobbing.

"Suzie... from now on, your big brother will take care of you, but don't depend on him too much. Be obedient but also independent... try to take care of your problems on your own."

Hearing him, the stream of tears she had been trying to suppress couldn't be stopped anymore.

"Yess-hic-hic-ss!!! Waaaa yes-hicc- sob-ssss!!!!!!" she nodded

"Haha, what a grown-up baby—haha..." He then turned his gaze towards his brother.

"Ye-Joon..."

"Yes! Hyung-nim!"

"Stop shouting, man... listen carefully... I know you will want revenge... but now is not the time... there is enough money in the stash... take it and go somewhere and lay low... the storm will be looking for you now. Take care of Suzie, I am leaving her with you..."

Cough! Cough!!

"Yes..." Head lowered, tears fell onto the dry ground, dampening it.

"Haaaa..." Feeling his end near and having difficulty breathing, Ron took a deep breath.

"Lil bro... let's do the ritual... while I am still alive... I don't want to do it in the underworld."

Nodding, Ye-Joon got up and ran to the car and came back as fast as he could.

Cough!!

Blood still came out of his mouth, but he ignored it.

With gritted teeth, Ye-Joon put down three shots of alcohol.

Two full and one with only a minimal amount in the third, obviously for Suzie, who was a bit shocked but felt sad and proud at the same time, for she was going to drink for the first time with her father, even if it was just for the taste.

In the gang they were in, it was a custom to have the drink just before death or pour the drink onto the members' coffins during the funeral.

The three cheered and took the shots in one gulp. Suzie, although she hated the taste, tried not to show it on her face, which she somewhat failed at.

Ron and Ye-Joon chuckled, looking at her expression.

Ye-Joon then, lighting a cigarette, took a puff and put it to Ron's mouth, who now didn't have even the strength to lift his hand as he felt his energy leaving him rapidly.

ffff Taking a puff, he said, "Take care of yourselves... if I can, I will look after you even from the underworld..."

With that, he closed his eyes and a weak smile remained on his white, ashen face.

'This is not such a bad ending after all.'
