Start of The Apocalypse

Under the beautiful blue sky, a male youth was gazing upon the blue sky.

The male youth has a handsome appearance with jet-black hair and shiny crimson red eyes.

The male youth's name was Alex Hector, an ordinary 16-year old high schooler.

The date was October 26, 2020.

This day might seem like any other day, but for Alex Hector, it was a special day, with it being his birthday.

"Mm?"

Feeling slight vibrations on his pants, Alex took out a black phone on his pocket.

Opening the phone, Alex saw multiple message notifications.

Alex pressed the notification and read the messages.

[Mom: When are you returning home?] 12:25

[Alex: I'm on my way] 12:26

[Mom: Be fast!] 12:26

Alex smiled wryly reading the message from her mom.

He put his phone back and walked back home.

10 minutes later.

Alex stood in front of a two-story house, surrounded by an iron gate, specifically, a white gate.

*Clank!*

Opening the gate, a large husky tackled Alex in the chest, causing Alex to fall down to the ground, with a dull *Thud!*.

"Gah! Luna, did you miss me?" He asked, while patting the dog in the head, Alex smiled gently and stood up from the ground.

"Wurf!" Luna barked in response.

"Luna, let's go inside."

Alex closed the gate and walked inside the house with Luna following him.

Upon entering, Alex took of his shoes, while Luna ran to the living room.

Alex followed Luna to the living room, and saw his little sister in the sofa, watching some cartoons.

"Eve, where's mom?" Alex called out.

Hearing Alex's call, Eve turned around and replied, "She's in the kitchen."

Seeing Eve, Luna jumped at her.

"Ah! Luna, calm down!" Eve groaned.

"Woof! Woof!" Luna barked in response while licking her face.

"Alex, go into your room, and change your clothes." A stern voice said.

Alex entered the kitchen and saw his mother cooking some food.

His mother's name was Marie Hector

"Okay." He nodded.

"When are your friend going to arrive?" His mother asked.

"They said that they are going to arrive at 12." Alex replied.

"Where's dad?" He asked.

"Buying cake." Marie replied.

After that conversation, they continued what they are doing earlier, with Alex head upstairs entered his room and locked it.

A small room painted in white greeted him, a closed window situated across the door, next to the window is a single person bed, and next to the door is a bookshelf filled with light novel and action figures, a table was placed beside the book shelves, on top of the table is a computes and some books.

Looking at beside his bed, a slim black katana displayed next to it entered his vision.

A look of melancholy appeared in his eyes, like a broken damn, memories flooded his mind.

In the past, he had a grandfather that was a blacksmith and liked to create things, and that trait eventually passed on to him.

Due to that, Alex asked his grandfather to teach him how to blacksmith and create his own dream weapon, and Alex being 8-years old in the past, his grandfather did not teach him how to, but Young Alex did not give up and spent great efforts persuading his grandfather to teach him.

After a year of persuading, his grandfather gave in and taught him blacksmithing.

He spent 2 years studying blacksmithing, and after all, that effort, he was finally able to create his own dream weapon, a katana, he often see them in the anime he watches, so he quickly fell in love with it.

When he finished creating his katana, tragedy struck, and his grandfather suddenly fell ill, and quickly hospitalized, the doctors theorized it was due to his old age.

The doctors said his grandfather does not have a long time left to live.

After knowing that, Alex fell into depression and locked himself in his room for days, due to that… Alex missed the day his grandfather died.

After that, Alex lost all of his passion for blacksmithing.

Alex pulled himself out his current state and walked to the closet next to the bed, and grabbed a white blouse.

Suddenly, a sound of shattering echoed across the world.

"Hmm?"

Following the shattering sound, intense pain assaulted Alex, causing him to drop on his knees.

"Ggh!"

Before long, Alex fainted from the pain and dropped to the ground, face first.

On October 26 2020.

A massive change appeared throughout the world.

8 hours later.

Alex, who was unconscious, abruptly woke up and desperately sucked in air.

"Haah…Hah…Haah!"

He weakly stood up, and looked around.

'Dark.'

Unable to see anything, Alex turned on the light.

'What is the time?' Alex thought and looked at his phone.

[20:45] it displayed.

"8?!" Seeing the time, Alex was shocked.

*Boom!*

Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed across the neighborhood, accompanying the explosion. The ground shook.

'What happened?!'

Hearing the explosion, Alex ran to the window and opened it.

As he opened the window, what he saw shook him to his core.

A large creature walked at the street, in the far away distance. He could see dozen of house burning and a cloud of smoke floating to the sky.

"What's happening!?..... It must be a dream, hahaha. This is just a nightmare." Alex muttered to himself, his back drenched in cold sweat.

Suddenly, the large creature resembling a wolf glance at his direction.

"Hieh!" Seeing the wolf monster looking at his direction, fear gripped his heart. He stood up and stepped back, his mind going blank.

Losing his balance, Alex fell to the ground with his butt, a dull *Thud!* reverberate throughout the house.

Following the dull sound, Alex heard soft footsteps getting closer.

'Mom! Eve!' Alex thought, hearing the footsteps.

Alex stood up and walked to the door, he immediately opened it.

Upon opening the door, Alex saw a dark hallway, slightly lit up by the light on his room.

Alex looked at the stairs and saw a tall faint figure walking towards him.

"Mom!" Alex shouted, figuring the identity of the shadow.

Following his shout, the shadow abruptly ran towards him.

'She's safe!' Alex thought.

As the shadow got close, Alex felt a bucket full of cold-water dump on his head.

With the help of the light on his room, Alex saw the shadows appearance clearly.

Once the shadow got close, Alex saw his mother, her skin being dangerously pale, and her eyes glowing bright red. She was charging at him mouth wide open, saliva flowing out.

In a flash, Marie(?) grasped his shoulder and held him in place, and attempted to bit him in the neck.

Seeing that, Alex pushed Marie(?) away with all his strength, causing for her to crash in the wall.

Getting his freedom back, Alex turned back to his room, closing it and locking it.

Once the door locked, Alex leaned on the wall and sat on the ground, hugging his knees. A look of confusion appearing on his face.

"What the hell is happening!?" He whispered to himself.

Following his whisper, his door shook, accompanied by a banging sound.

With the strength of the banging, Alex estimated that the door will not hold out for long.

Alex immediately stood up and grabbed the katana on his wall.

He grabbed the sheath, and took out the katana on its sheath.

Alex held it in front of him and pointed it at the door.

"What the fuck is going on!?" Alex shouted his voice full of confusion and fear, tears streaming down his face.

Following Alex estimation, the door broke down, Marie(?) barged in and charged at him, her eerie red eyes glowing brightly.

In great speed, Marie(?) charged at him.

'Fast!' Alex thought and slashed at her neck in reflex.

Following his slash, Alex felt the blade of his katana hitting flesh.

With her momentum, she was unable to stop; her neck was easily cut off from her neck and fell to the ground.

"…Mom." Alex muttered, gazing at Marie's(?) cold body lying on his bed, her blood flowing out, staining his bed in crimson red.

Suddenly, white fog leaked from Marie's(?) body, and flew towards him.

"Huh?!"

Alex tried to shake it off, but failed. The white fog entered his body.

As the white fog entered his body, a warm feeling spread across his body.

The warm feeling quickly vanished and a sense of power replaced it.

"What the fuck is happening right now?" Alex muttered; the confusion inside him increased.

*Pit! Pat!*'

Alex heard soft footsteps coming closer.

He looked towards his door, and saw a small shadow approaching.

As the shadow was approaching, Alex heard soft groans.

Once the shadow stepped on his room, it's appearance could be see due to the light on his room.

Seeing his sister that looked exactly liked Marie(?), sadness gripped his heart.

Not giving it any chance to attack, Alex charged at Eve.

With great speed, the distance between them disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Arriving in front of Eve, Alex slashed her neck off.

Her head and body dropped to the ground, with a dull *Thud!*.

"…I'm sorry." Alex dropped on the ground and hugged his knees, warm tears streamed down his tears.

White fog leaked out of Eve's body and flew towards him.

Just like earlier, his body absorbed the white fog, once again. Alex felt a sense of power.

Alex took a last look at his family before leaving the room.

Alex rubbed his tears off, while walking down the stairs.

He held the katana in his left hand, and the sheath on the other.

He arrived at the living room, and found it looking the same.

After the living room, Alex looked around the kitchen and saw various food laid out on the table, he also saw a knife on the ground.

'It probably fell to the ground, when mom fainted.' He thought.

Alex left the kitchen and return back into the living room.

Suddenly, Alex had a sudden realization.

'Luna! Where is Luna? Did he changed too?'

Alex searched the whole house, and did not find Luna, so he decided to peak outside

Opening a small hole in the window, he peaked outside.

The iron fence surrounding his house was broken, seeing that. Alex's eyes widened.

He looked around and did not saw any creature, so he assumed it is safe. He decided to leave the house and looked around for help.

Before leaving, Alex looked at his phone to call for help, but failed having no reception

Once he took a step outside, Alex smelled faint smoke in the air.

He sighed and stepped on the street.

Looking around, on his left, Alex saw a group of four were standing in the middle of the street, on his right was an empty street, not a single soul to see.

Alex thought for a bit, whether he should go to right or left.

Logically, a person will choose the right street, but on the end of the left street is the police station...

In addition, a dessert shop. Earlier, his mother said that his father left to buy cake, and they normally choose the dessert shop on the left street.

Therefore, he might find his father in this street, whether he was normal or turned into a monster that is up to fate.

'I just have to kill them.' Once this thought passed through his mind, Alex froze in shock.

In the past, this thought would never appear, but after he killed his mother and sister... Something about him changed.

Alex sighed and did not think any further about this matter, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before opening them again.

He bent his forward and charged to the group of people.

His figure blurred and appeared in front of the group of people.

Seeing this, Alex was shocked, he estimated the distance between them was 10 Meters; he just crossed 10 meters in a matter of second!

When the group of people saw Alex, they groaned and charged at him.

Hearing their groan, Alex pushed the thought aside, and focused on the current matter.

Due to his absent mindless earlier, the group of people surrounded him, one especially was in front of him, and it reached out its hand, trying to grab Alex.

Seeing this, Alex stepped back, dodging its hand, Alex quickly beheaded it, not giving it any chance to attack.

It's head and body fell to the ground, creating a small stain of blood.

Suddenly, Alex felt sharp pain behind him.

"Gah!" Alex groaned and looked behind and saw another one standing behind him.

He quickly turned around and beheaded it.

On his right, one of them growled and launched itself at him; Alex ducked down. Dodging its dive.

On his left, Alex caught a glimpse of the lost one preparing to launch itself, after dodging. Alex moved to the side.

Luckily, he dodge the other on in time.

Alex charged at the other in his previous position, cutting its head off its body.

Due to Alex's speed, they were having a hard time to catch up to him.

After a few second, Alex finally killed the last one.

After the battle, Alex was in ragged breath, tired from all the fighting he did.

Alex absorbed the white fog from the people, after absorbing all the white fog. Alex felt a small amount of his fatigue vanished, and felt his strength increasing.

Looking at the body of people, Alex decided to call them Zombies, recalling his battle earlier, they look like they want to eat him, and them looking like their dead.

Alex wiped the blood on his katana and placed it on its sheath.

After the battle, Alex continued walking and did not encounter any more Zombies on the way.

After walking for a bit, Alex saw a building in the distance that have a sign that said 'Dessert Shop.

Seeing that, Alex felt great joy, hope and expectation.

He immediately ran towards it, arriving at the entrance, Alex entered inside.

Upon entering inside, Alex felt his heart shatter into countless pieces and grinded into dust.

On the cashier, Alex saw a familiar middle-aged man awkwardly walking around, its skin was dangerously pale, and its eyes glowed bright red.

His father, Zack Hector have turned into a Zombie.

Realizing this, Alex felt tears streaming down his face.

'Everyone is gone, even you, why did you leave me behind?' He thought.

Alex gritted his teeth and charged to Zack.

Sensing his presence, Zack move to the side dodging his attack.

After dodging, Zack's nail sharpened, turning into claws, he threw his claw and tried to scratch Alex.

Alex stepped back, but was unable to dodge his attack fully, wounding his left shoulder

"Gah!" Alex groaned and stepped back more, making distance between them.

Zack did not gave him any chance and jumped at him.

Alex saw this and moved to the side dodging Zack attack.

He charged at Zack before he could land on the ground.

As Zack land on the ground, Alex slashed at his neck.

Alex frowned seeing his attack only leaving a small wound.

'This is going to be hard!' Alex thought and continued his attack.

Before Zack could make another move, Alex slashed at his left arm with all his strength.

Blood splattered as his left arm suffered a great wound, as his bone was exposed.

Zack roared and punched Alex in the stomach with his right hand.

Sounds of bones breaking echoed in the store, as Alex flew through to the air and crashed into table; he slowly stood up and coughed up blood.

In front of him, Zack charged at him with great speed.

Alex moved to the side, dodging Zack attack, due to his injury caused by Zack punch. Alex spent a lot of effort just moving to the side.

As Alex, dodge his attack, Zack crashed into a table and couple of seat and into a wall.

'How is he so strong? He's stronger than any other Zombie I encountered!' Alex thought seeing Zack's strength.

Alex felt his chest assaulted by great pain and cursed; "Fuck! Some of my ribs are broken!"

Alex pushed himself to the limit and stood up.

'I can't block his attack, so I should just dodge!' Alex inwardly decided, seeing Zack standing up.

"I'm exhausted, so it's do or die!" Alex shouted and charged at Zack.

Zack growled and charged at Alex.

As they are about to collide, Alex move to the side and dodge.

Missing Alex, Zack crashed into a wall, due to his great momentum; he was unable to stop himself. Resulting in seriously injuring himself.

'Even though he's stronger than other Zombie, he is still dumb as them. Looks like the people that turned into Zombie got their intelligence significantly decreased' He thought, looking at Zack who was struggling standing.

Alex charged at Zack, not giving him any chance to breath.

Alex closed down to Zack, who was on his knees.

"Dad, rest in peace!" He said and raised his katana.

Zack raised his and looked at Alex.

Alex who expected to see a savage face was shocked, as he saw a… Gentle smile on his face.

Seeing that, Alex hesitated, once he saw the savage look return on his face, Alex cleared all of his hesitation and stabbed his katana on Zack's heart.

Blood leaked out of Zack's chest, seeing, as he was still alive, Alex pulled out his katana and stabbed it on Zack's throat.

Zack eyes closed and his body went limp.

Seeing Zack cold dead body, extreme fatigue and exhaustion assaulted his whole body.

Large amount of white fog leaked out of Zack, seeing that. Alex's body instinctually absorbed all of them.

Due to his exhaustion and fatigue, Alex slowly blacked out, as darkness took over his consciousness.

Before he fainted, Alex saw a feminine figure walking towards the shop.
