An Elf Child

I ran up to the tree where they tied the child. What I found was truly incredible. The child was like a living doll with wavy blonde hair, golden eyes and some pointy ears. I quickly opened my ghillie suit and ask the child a question

"Aren't you just a human with pointy ears?" I asked the child with a dumbfounded look on my face

"Don't think that we elves, are the same as you humans. Your race is greedy and evil!!"

The elf child said that with a cautious face.

"Ouch…I feel quite offended. Though I can also say that humans are indeed greedy" a grin surfaced on my face.

"You are a weird human. Why are you still standing there, quickly release me!!"

The child shouted at me.

"Agh, I forgot. Anyways what's your name?" I said while pulling my knife out to cut him down.

"I'm not going to tell you my name, stupid human" the child said with an uncomfortable look on his face

"Fine. Fine…I'm not going to insist if you don't want to, but it is nice to meet ya kid. My name is Chris Nevan, but you can call me Chris"

I said that with a big smile on my face, hoping my sincerity will reach out to this elf.

"So kid, what're you going to do now?" I said while suddenly changing my expression into a serious one.

"I don't know" the kids face suddenly grew dark. "Why do you even care!? Stupid human" he said with an annoyed tone.

"Anyway, let's get you cleaned up. Go wash yourself up in the river, I'm going to prepare us some food"

I turned my back to the child and walked away towards the place where I left my deer meat.

Though I didn't know what kind of thing he experienced, he's still a kid and well it was none of my concern.

20 Minutes later…

I was done cleaning up the dead bodies and was preparing food from the deer I caught.

After that, I heard the elf child approach me.

"I'm done washing up mister" he said while walking towards me.

"Come sit here, I made us some roasted deer meat"

I don't know what the kids usually like, so I just roasted the meat and added a little bit of rock salt.

"Elf don't eat meat, stupid human. Didn't they teach you?" he said with a pout on his face, though his stomach said otherwise.

*grrrrrr* the sound of the child's stomach growled so loud that I even heard it plain and clear.

"Hahaha, your stomach says the opposite though" I said while laughing till my stomach hurt. "Phew, If you don't want to eat it then have this" I said while handing out a vegetable from my MRE. I never really liked vegetables anyway and there was nothing else he could give him.

"Thank you" he grabbed it and munched. "Anyway mister, why are you here? This place is called the demon forest. Usually there are no humans that come this deep into the forest"

This kid just gave me a lot of information, and demon….there're also demons here?

Hmm is demon mean like…succubae? Hehehe, I shake my head to empty my dirty thoughts.

I should prepare for the worst then. I'm sure that dragon was still in this forest and now I have to babysit a child

*Sigh*

"So? Where should I escort you to?" I asked the child after eating my roasted meat.

"It's around 1 day trip to the south. There's an elven village, take me there, and my grandfather will give you a reward because you saved me."

Hmm, so it's a village. Though I was hoping for a human town at the very least, but well I'll have to take him there

"Sure, I'll take you there. Now just eat your food and get some rest, we'll leave tomorrow morning"

I quickly got up from the ground and fixed my shelter. I closed the hole with my ghillie suit so it would be a bit warmer the very least.

"Just sleep inside there, I'll keep a watch of our surrounding"

I picked up my sniper rifle and looked for a vantage point.

"Thank you!" he said as he blushed.

"Why're are you blushing, what the heck!" I said while being surprised.

I was getting this weird feeling. Why is he blushing? I mean, why? He's a guy and I'm certainly a guy too. Not to mention he's a child…

*sigh*

Whatever let's not think about that any further.

Morning struck in…

The sound of birds was ringing like an alarm.

"Hey kid, wake up. We're leaving" I poked the kid till he opened his eyes.

"Uh, is it morning already?" he said while rubbing his half-awake eyes.

My clock says that it's almost 6 already.

"Hey kid, go get washed up again. We'll leave in 30 minutes."

"Didn't I just do it yesterday?" the kid said in confusion.

"Uh what? Don't you wash up every day?"

"No, what? Why would we do that? We only need to do it once a week" his tone was an annoyed one. The fact that I didn't know anything about this world probably annoyed him.

"Ah, fine whatever. Here's your food, eat it" I said while handing out more vegetable from the MRE.

"Eat first and after that we're gonna leave"

I think this is a perfect time to check the thing that popped up in my face yesterday.

So. . . how do you see it again? Hmm let me think, it's like a game so let me try…

"Game?"

Okay, I guess that didn't work. Yesterday it said something along titles. Hmm…

Damn, stealth is really useful. And how did I level up my survival guide skills?

Oh, if I'm not wrong, I think it has like a plus or something. Now that I think about it I haven't ate anything. Well Imma eat as well.
