4 Chapter 3 : Night shopping

current location: Hideout
Time: 11:00 PM
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*
My eyes suddenly opened after a short slumber, I rubbed my eyes and turned off the watch alarm on my hand, I checked the time and got up from the bed to get ready for my next loot run, I emptied my duffle bag, and grabbed my ak near my bed.
On this loot run, I want to go to the streets again to find a generator for the hideout because the place urgently needs some light, but the question is how the hell I can bring a heavy a*s generator into here?.... to be honest, I don't know, ill think about it after I found one, for now, I'll just go around the building and loot up the place.
after I left the hideout, I went up from the manhole to see the sight of nighttime in the street of Tarkov, there was still some electricity running into the street light that shone the street, I covered the manhole back and heard a gunshot nearby, ignoring the fact I'm wrong to tell my self it will be safe at night to loot, I continue to walk to the opposite way from the gunshot, walking at the side of the street I arrived at the hardware store, the store has a lot of broken windows and broken door that hint the place already have been looted by the scav.
I proceed to go towards the store anyway and pass the broken door, I see some stuff still lying around on the shelf, so I sling my AK and start looting up the store, after 20 minutes of looting and searching around the thing I found is :
1. 2x Insulating tape
2. 5x Bundle of wires
3. 1x Electric drill
4. 10x Light bulb in good condition
5. 1x Pliers
6. 1x Construction measuring tape
7. 2x WD-40 100ml
8. 2x pack of screws
"hmm, not bad, but I haven't found any generator yet", feeling disappointed and with no luck in finding a generator, I pack up my duffle bag and try to find another place to loot, I continue walking through the street I saw an abandoned police car on the side of the road.
I walked up into it and saw the car still untouched by the scav, feeling that I could get ammo or a gun from it, I tried to pry open the door but the car was locked shut, without any keys for the car, I grab my ak and smash the car window with the buttstock of my AK, but suddenly the car alarm is turned on and making a loud noise around the street,
"f*ck!!!, I have to search for it quickly!!", fearing that somebody will come here and check the commotion, In a panic I open the door lock and search the car in haste, I open the glove box and find an MP-443 handgun, and three 18 round mags for the gun.
While I putting the gun into my pocket and the mags into my chest rig I see a button for opening the car trunk and press it, the car trunk suddenly pops up in the back of the car, seeing the trunk is opened I move behind the car and open up the car trunk fully to see a PACA armor vest and a 2 box off 9x19mm PSO gzh inside the trunk, I pick up the box of pistol ammo into my duffle bag and carry the PACA armor in hand while I hastily move away from the police car.
I run as fast as I can without looking back, not wanting anyone to see me and probably shoot me in sight I rush to the alleyways and hide there to catch my breath, " *huff* *huff*, okay that's a close one", take a deep breath I look at the new body armor I got, " PACA armor vest huh? better than nothing I guess", I remove my chest rig and put on the PACA on my body tightly, feeling more safer I put my chest rig back on and continue searching for that generator.
going away from the alleyways towards the street again, I walk into an intersection and hear the roar of a heavy engine on my left I rush into a building at my right and hide there, I peek around the window and see a BTR cruising the street with people on top of it, they surely not military personnel but a group of scav controlling the armored vehicle around the block while shooting their gun on the sky, with so many danger around I kinda regretting my choice to go outside at night.
After the BTR pass through my building I sneak out from the building and keep walking to my destination, passing the broken-down crane on my left, I see a lot of scav hanging out in there and getting drunk, ignoring them I keep walking straight until I find a big highway.
Knowing in-game there are sniper scavs on top of the roof scanning the highway for any people crossing the road, I hesitate to cross, but I remember that I dress like a scav, so I shake my fear and keep walking across the highway normally, the feeling of someone is aiming their scope at me is unnerving but I shake the feeling and finally I'm on the other side near the tall cardinal hotel right beside me.
some of you will ask me why I am going to a dangerous place that is probably filled with scavs and a hot zone for PMC. well my new plan is to go to the Klimov shopping mall, with no other place to check left, the only place that has a high chance of having a generator is inside that shopping mall in front of me.
I got inside the mall and saw the place was a mess, I ready my ak to clear the place and slowly walked through the food court to look for any extra water and food I could get, after 10 minutes of looting I got this:
1. 5x Bottle of water
2. 2x Bottle of "Norvinskiy Yadreniy" premium kvass
3. 2x tar cola
sadly no food in here that I could bring back but I found more water supply for the hideout, I put the water bottles inside my duffle bag and kept going.
I saw a broken escalator and proceeded to walk up there just to see a gruesome scene in front of me, a lot of dead Scavs scattered around the hallway of the shopping mall, this scene made my whole body shudder but I kept pressing through the dead bodies and keep my focus for the generator.
I am tempted to loot the dead scav but I can't take the risk of looting in the open and making myself like a sitting duck, as I go to the hardware store in the mall, I finally find it, the diesel generator I need for the hideout, the generator is pretty small than I imagine but the thing still heavy to carry by hand, I look around and spotted a shopping cart nearby, I carry over the cart and pick up the generator into the cart, feeling I can find more stuff, I look around and find a generator installation manual on the ground, but sadly the manual is written on Russian, I pick it up anyway because the dictionary that I found on a previous loot run can help me translate the manual.
I drove the cart toward the exit but stopped near the corner of the wall when I saw 2 guys looting the dead scav near the escalator.
They wearing camo uniforms and heavily geared from a normal scav, "oh sh*t, guess now I know who the one massacred all of that scavs ", those two is a USEC PMCs, they have better gear and good at fighting too, thinking I can just wait for them to leave, I have a bold idea that makes anyone ask if I'm stupid or suicidal.
I hold the shopping cart handle tightly and push the cart slowly starting to accelerate toward them, the sound of the rattling carts Alert them of my presence, but before they can do anything I slam my cart into one of them and keep running towards the escalator, I jump into the cart and give the flabbergasted PMCs a middle finger while the cart is surfing down on the escalator.
When I got to the first floor, I got off the cart and rushed toward the mall entrance without looking back, I exited the mall and rushed to the underground metro towards my hideout.
After going through the metro tunnels again, I arrived at my hideout without any problem, I pushed the cart near the entrance and carried the generator inside the bunker.
I slowly put the generator in the right corridor near the ventilation area and left it there for now.
I removed my gear and put it in the stash area, then I slumped down in my bed and leaned against the wall to take a breather.
With the light of the oil lamp still on, I open the dictionary near my bed and read it, trying to relax and learn Russian, but then my eyelids started to get heavy from an hour of reading, and feeling sleepy, I put back the book near my bed and turn off the oil lamp, ready to sleep and wait for the next day.
