34 Read To Know

Maximus found her little act very amusing as his lips curved to his signature smirk that Felixa is very much accustomed to. But she didn't want to get laughed at and so she decided to speak first.

"How are you feeling now?" she asked, pointing at his crotch. "You were hurting bef~" her voice started to shake and she hunched her shoulders as he leaned much closer.

"Why don't you check?" he breathed, his voice soft like the gush of water flowing through a crevice making her shiver pleasantly to her core. She desired for the warmth in his amber eyes to confiscate her coldness.

"He's sick?" Flavia stood up and Felixa heard Flavia's footsteps reaching them.

It only made Felixa's heart race as if she is doing something that she shouldn't be doing. She didn't want to be "caught" by Flavia.

Maybe he saw her anxiousness, he stood straight.

"I am fine," he said, his eyes focusing on Felixa like a jaguar would focus on its prey. "You should get the guidance of Flavia and learn how you can help me if that happens again," he said rubbing the tip of his nose with the back of his hand.

"What ails you?" Flavia asked Maximus but he didn't answer her.

"You can read what you want. Flavia will accompany you," Maximus told Felixa and she stood up out of reflex.

"Yes, Max," she nodded. She figured he might have something else to attend to.

"I shall meet you at Supper," he said holding her cheek and pressed his lips on her forehead.

"Yes," Felixa smiled.

She found his departure pretty convenient for her. After all, she didn't want to let him know that she is going to research about magic and about the Rose Knight.

With his cape fluttering, he walked out of the library. Felixa's eyes followed him and the smile in her face stayed as she watched his broad back. Stopping by the exquisite carved door, he looked at Felixa for a moment before turning at Flavia.

"Flavia, how frequent can we share a room?" he asked.

Felixa didn't understand head or tails of what he is asking and she turned to look at Flavia.

"Once a month is the rules," Flavia said with her head bowed. Felixa noticed Flavia clutching her skirt tightly.

"Oh? Only once?" Maximus turned and took a step forward but then he paused and turned to look at Felixa once more. His eyes glided from the top of her head to her toes making Felixa blush. He then turned his gaze at Flavia.

"How long will-" he then cleared his throat.

Without finishing his words, with a swish, he turned and walked out of the library, closing the door behind him.

Felixa's gaze lingered on the closed door for some time. The moment his presence left her, she could feel an odd feeling filling the pit of her stomach, like she is missing something. She didn't like that feeling. But at least her heart is not beating as if a deer got trapped inside. That made her relax.

Feeling a cold hand holding hers, Felixa turned.

"Felixa, is he hurt somewhere?" Flavia's concerned face made her heart melt.

"I am not sure. But he walks fine now," Felixa explained what she thought was wrong with Maximus.

"His legs are hurt?" Flavia asked.

"No," Felixa shook her head. "Some time ago… his… phallus… it got swollen and got stiff…" she awkwardly placed her hands closed above her crotch to explain it. She had to struggle hard to find the words to replace 'peepipe'. Thankfully, she still has some vocabulary and found another word But judging by Flavia's reddened face, she thought she is doing something wrong.

"No need," Flavia held her hands with her hand while covering her face with her other hand to hide her blush. "I get it."

"So what was wrong with his- with him?" Felixa asked.

Maximus did tell her to talk to Flavia and so she decided to.

"Sit, dear," Flavia let out a sigh. She didn't think she's be asked about this in such an open manner. Although she is married for decades and is used to these things, she still feels like a blushing teenager whenever Julius and she…

"It's… normal…" Flavia couldn't find the right words. "When a man… He… You two must have…" Flavia interlocked her fingers with her palm facing her and shook her hands. "…Close…?"

"Yes, we were standing close and he was sniffing me," Felixa said what happened. "He was kissing me too…and…"

Remembering that made her heart flutter once more.

"That's right…" Flavia didn't want to hear more. She didn't want to be in this situation. But she liked this girl and this is Maximus' wife. She wanted him to have children.

But this girl is not ready for that and she cannot be forced to do something she doesn't like. So she must figure out if Maximus did something untoward to her. She must explain properly to this poor girl that even if he is her husband, he cannot do something she is uncomfortable with.

"When he did that, what did you feel? You didn't want him to touch you or-"

"No, I liked it. I wanted him to touch me more," Felixa answered truthfully but then she felt her face blushing more as she rehashed the feeling she got. She bowed her head.

"Oh?" Flavia was rather surprised by this development. This is contrary to what she thought she would hear. She figured that although Felixa's body might be underdeveloped, her mentality is close to her age.

And this is perfect!

All she has to do now is to nourish her body to match her age and everything would be fine.

"What should I do to help if it happens to him again?" Felixa asked.

"Ah… that…" Flavia's happiness got washed away by this question. She has to explain the matters between men and women to this girl. But she felt shy.

"Let's get books! There must be books for everything, right? Let's find them!" Flavia stood up with a bright smile as she smartly found a way to avoid talking about this issue directly.

"Yes, let's!" Felixa got up with a cheery smile.

[Flavia doesn't know it either… But she is feeling shy to admit that. I won't vex her!]

Since it was a big library, both Felixa and Flavia decided to search for books in different parts of the library. Felixa didn't like the smell of the books and paper in the place. But she needs to be here to learn everything.

Hardening her heart, Felixa walked to the East end of the shelves and pulled out a book just to have an idea of what genre of books this section contains.

She pulled out the thinnest book in the row. The spine had unintelligible writing. Thinking that the cover would have clear writing, she tried to read the title of the book on the cover to no avail. She opened the book and the words written on the paper were unintelligible too.

She replaced that book and found another random book. The words in that book made no sense either and she tried another book to see the same unintelligible letters and words she has never seen before.

And it was then she realized something.
