51 humanity

[Battlefield, a few minutes after Inmo's departure]

With the resplendent light that arose to aid humanity in this time of need, as Inmo ventured to battle the extraterrestrials in space, it fell to those who remained here to do what they could. They organized themselves to finish it all; the battle, which was already nearing its end, would only conclude when the last Thanagarian was apprehended.

So, the allied army devastated the remnants of soldiers who had sided with the Thanagarians, capturing and killing those who resisted. Soon, they located the last surviving Lunmin, hidden in the deepest bunker beneath the palace. Its walls were lined with the metal salvaged from the alien ship, impervious to the Martians' abilities. The only option left was to use brute force to breach the bunker door.

It took a considerable amount of time, even with Diana, Merkare, and the Martians working together, to break down the door, nearly the time it took for Inmo to deal with the Thanagarian fleet.

When the rebel people finally managed to enter, they found a futuristic all-white laboratory with various materials scattered about. In the center of the room, the last Lunmin stood beside a weapon of mass destruction, displaying a mixture of fear, astonishment, and remorse. It had heard everything transpiring in space and regretted calling its people to this planet. It couldn't have imagined such a creature existed on such a small planet.

Its end, and that of its people, would likely be extermination. It decided to deliver a final blow to its enemies and detonated the bomb in the room, even though its rational thoughts had long faded, leaving only the madness and insanity of war.

In this moment where life and death converged, Merkare made a choice from which he couldn't turn back. He approached the bomb and grabbed it, causing a massive explosion in the room, blinding most people. Everyone became disoriented. When their senses returned, they saw a large blue dome pulsating in splendid blue light in the center of the room, like a sun.

However, its beauty quickly proved perilous, as the force of the explosion managed to escape in certain places, like a destruction plasma that killed and devastated much of the city. Those who still lived began to realize the danger they were in. Soon, everyone fled the city, leaving some enemies behind. Nevertheless, it wasn't enough, and some rebel soldiers died.

The blue ball began to rise in the city's sky and expand, enveloping the entire city until the dome became a massive cylinder that redirected all the force of the explosion into space, saving most of Egypt in the process.

Inmo, who had just returned, realized what had occurred. He joined the rebels who gazed upon the great abyss that had once been the city. Nothing remained of that place, and life would probably never sprout there again.

Just when everyone thought it was over, the strange figure of the blue beetle emerged from the depths of the abyss. Its figure was now wrecked; the armor had been damaged, small holes could be seen in the blue beetle's body, and a large hollow was noticeable. It was a true figure of terror; the former idol, the symbol of the rebellion, had reached such a state.

When the armored figure activated its jets and departed, flying away, it disappeared on the horizon. Inmo sighed resignedly, no longer feeling Merkare's life. As his domain was humanity itself, one of his powers was sensing the life of any human on Earth. He knew that now, that armor was an empty shell with Merkare's last remnants. In the end, he was a great man; he lived and died as a hero, but in the end, he fell here.

As a final gift to such a great figure as Merkare, Inmo decided to do something for Egypt. He used his divine powers; the power of faith could be employed in many ways, even to perform things not within his divine domain, like working miracles, as he was about to do. Using his powers, his white divine aura emanated from his body, transforming into bubbles of light that soared into the sky. Dark clouds soon formed, a great storm brewed, and the rain began to fall. The mood was somber, even though everyone considered the rain a good thing, at this moment, it was still seen as great sadness, reminiscent of the fall of all those who perished in this war.

In the end, all the soldiers returned to the rebel base, but the rain, which seemed transient, persisted for many days, eventually filling the abyss that had formed, giving rise to one of the largest lakes that ever existed and will exist in the world, forever changing how Egypt would develop from now on.

As for the armor that flew and vanished on the horizon, it quickly arrived at the rebels' base. Persenet and Satiah, who had been waiting for news of the war, were swiftly found by the armor. The armor landed in front of Satiah, who was paralyzed by the horror of what she was witnessing. Her heart ached at the thought of the likely events involving her father, who was severely damaged.

The armor advanced with great difficulty until it was inches from Satiah and embraced her. At that moment, the armor began to disintegrate like ashes until only the scarab remained in Satiah's hand. She began to cry upon realizing what had happened to her father. Persenet, who was near her daughter, couldn't hold back tears either and, along with her daughter, shed tears while embracing her.
